I needed to re-roof my rental home. Nastar wasn't my lowest bidder, but I was satisfied they would do a good job and they did. When I went to sign contract, Tony repaired a break in a seal that was causing water to run down pipes and into the bathroom ceiling at no charge. Really appreciated that, was a good sign I'd chosen well. I was told when signing that there would be nearly a two month delay before permitting done and job start due to backlog. In the meantime, we sprang a leak bad enough to spill water in the kitchen. I called customer service to see if the job could be put on a rush. The owner of Nastar called me back, gave me advice on how to minimize damage to the ceiling, and scheduled the re roof start for just a few days later. I was extremely impressed (and relieved) at this. The job start date was kept, the crews were polite, attentive, and they cleaned up everything when finished. As they tarped the home after it was stripped, sustained minor damage on flat roof section (see below in glitches). Inspection, shingle delivery, and shingle installation on time, well done, and at quoted price. All the paperwork was in order, including the warranty papers on the shingles that I will need if I ever sell the home. There were two glitches: 1. Cost: (resolved 5 star) when I met the salesmen Tony & Tony to sign the bid, I was told that the quote was based on the wrong sq ft so price was revised upwards, Since I had chosen vendors based upon quoted cost per sq ft, this was not an issue for me but just an honest mistake. Also, the quote included an open-ended time + materials for fixing the decking if needed, which I found worrisome. My final wood bill was only $90 so very very satisfied on that point. 2. Liability loss (resolved 5 star) Florida is prone to sudden heavy cloudbursts. Unfortunately, the crew stripping old roof did not get tarps over my lanai (porch) flat roof fast enough, resulting in a bad water leak that soaked a carpet and furniture there. The firm immediately accepted responsibility and after roofing was done, they dispatched a subcontractor at their expense to repair the damage beautifully . AND, they agreed to reimburse my tenant for the bill to have someone dry everything out. I would not hesitate NASTAR ROOFING for re-roof or repairs.
