watch the packing very carefully. They packed more than I intended them to take and one of the packers was very poor. Every breakable thing he packed broke. Fortunately, the losses were not great. Most of the people were wonderful and overall I would rate it 4.5.

It has been over a year since I tried to get a resolution to the issues I experienced with my move. Iâ  ve spent the past year trying to work with the company, and then their claims company, and only recently got a decision from the claims company that Nation Capital Moving only owed me $14. This is a problem since my $2000 bed was irreparably damaged and many of my goods never got delivered. I immediately reached out to to my sales manager, Jonathan, about the damage to my bed and he told me I needed to talk to their president, Peter. I contacted Peter via email to explain the damage, provide photos, and let him know that several of my possessions were not delivered. These included garden tools, parts for my snowblower, and a gas can (which was empty). All of these goods made it on their truck because I was there monitoring the loading and packing. I never received a response from Peter, but another company rep named Kris finally called me in January to say he saw the email and would work with me to resolve the issue. I followed up with him via email and phone calls multiple times with no response. I finally texted him with the monetary damages I wanted them to cover. He said to contact their insurance company and that was the last I heard from them. As expected, they cover themselves well, which is why the insurance company said I was only owed $14 as the bed damage reimbursement was based on a weight calculation Iâ  m not surprised by that. This would have been easy to settle and I told them I wanted to handle this professionally rather than just going straight to social media with my complaints. I have run out of options and I donâ  t want anybody to have to go through what I did. Much like those reading this, I scoured reviews and websites before calling Nation Capital. When I talked to the salesman, Jonathan, I said that it seemed I would be paying more by using Nation Capital, but that I would get better service. He concurred. They were friendly, prompt, and loaded quickly. The truck had brake issues, but they kept me posted on their progress. I did not have a problem with them being late. They unloaded quickly and I noticed damage to several pieces of furniture. Most were nicks, dents, and scratches, but I fully expected that and really didnâ  t worry about it. The damage to my bed and the undelivered goods is what put me over the top. That is just unacceptable. During my research, I also noticed that Nation Capital did a good job of responding to reviews. Wish they would have done as good a job responding to my issues when I approached them in an acceptable way.

The move itself went well overall. My items arrived from the east coast to Texas in less than one week. One item was missing and they were not as responsive as I had hoped with updating me on the status. Instead, I?ve given up and will file a claim for a lost item instead. A couple of furniture items had some damage despite it being wrapped well by the movers team. That is to be expected and I will file a claim to take care of it.

The company was easy to work with. The movers damaged a sofa and desk, though. Movers also tried to repair the desk without notifying me it was broken. I was reimbursed for the cost of the desk and damaged sofa.

Did an excellent job packing and moving long distance! I recommend this company.

They are very professional and promise no additional cost. They also helped save me money by removing old junk at no additional cost. Highly recommend

Nation Capital is the absolute best!!! The movers were polite, and listened to my concerns on my pieces. Without hesitation, all my items were wrapped, and boxed with the greatest of care. All items made it up a third floor walk up without scratches - these guys were impressive! Wonderful customer service, with texts/calls before, and during the move to make sure I was satisfied, and to keep me up to date. Completely stress free! Would highly recommend Nation Capital for your next move!!

My original movers never showed. They responded quickly and had movers at my apartment within an hour. I canâ t thank you enough for making a very stressful day less stressful.

The gentlemen who moved us were very professional and respectful. They were careful and ask us where we wanted the furniture placed in each room. Their work good ethic was visible.

This was a great experience from start to finish! Prompt communication and follow up. Our 26' moving truck was unloaded in no time. Worth every penny. Would definitely use them again!

National Capital was a great choice. I had two pick ups (several weeks apart) since furniture was going to different locations. The employees were very accommodating and thorough and took great care in wrapping and moving the furniture. I contacted three other moving companies and the price from National was spot on. I have since recommended the company to others.

There were several broken, scratched, pieces. Some of the most precious, antique pieces were among the item broken. Two antique clocks, and my $400. stained glass angel. Many items were not moved, and many items that were not to be moved were moved. Listening does not appear to be their strong suite. They were very polite, quick, and reasonably priced, but some of what was broken cannot be fixed. And now we have to rent a U-Haul to move the items they did not move for us.

Still missing one-third of our stuff. The only contract for pennies on the dollar claims. No one answers the phone. The delivery was a 2-hour window instead of their stated 48 en route advisory. The bed was mounted on the back door of the truck ON THE OUTSIDE, we have pictures. Rushed the offload and we were totally ignored when we told the guy in charge to slow down. He kept his guys pushing like a circus taskmaster telling them to hurry up. Did not give any time for my wife who was checking numbers off to catch up. Totally rushed. I was in the basement receiving boxes and was unaware of what was going on at the truck. I would have called the police and reported the theft to get these guys to slow down. Their legal department has hidden clauses all over the contract so they have absolutely no liability. The reviews posted here are fictitious and according to others are made up by their company people despite Angies claims of checking. Angie can be fooled by these crooks very easily. My over-the-phone estimate came in way less than what we had and they wanted to charge us $4700.00 more for the extra pieces we had needed them to take which was actually more than what I spent, to begin with. Total crooks. There are multiple more issues as we are still after two months trying to figure out what is missing and sort out what we do have. The only people they treat well are military moves which make up a large part of their business according to the representative I spoke with in the beginning. Sure, the military always gets what it pays for, on time, with lots of care and communication, and the rest of us get screwed. If anyone wants to take these criminals to court I will gladly testify on their behalf. Dont believe me? Go ahead take a chance you will regret it!

The pros: nothing lost, nothing broken or damaged, very respectful, personable and hardworking movers, good price. The cons: the estimator underestimated the amount of space and movers that would be needed and what was supposed to be a 2-3 day job turned into a 5 day job that required changing trucks. They sent only 2-3 people on each end for a large house and they werenâ t the same people (although as above they all seemed quite professional). This meant late and long days. In the end it was ok except late.

They were prompt efficient and friendly. No problems.
