Reviews
Write a ReviewI don't mind paying labor costs but some of the basic parts that you can get at any local store were very over priced. However I think they ALL do it.
National Standby Repair worked with me to select the right generator for our home and budget. I'm glad that I listened to Kris's suggestions and went w/ the Kohler. We haven't had one issue w/ this machine since it was installed it four years ago. At first, I didn't think the service contract was necessary but in the long run I know it will pay off. I waited a long time to review but after this summer, we had so many outages and absolutely no problems with it running - NSR & our generator passed the test w/ flying colors
Thank you for your review! We appreciate your kind words. Thank you for your business!
National Standby Repair was super responsive in installing a generator at my home, and their price was the best I had out of 3 different quotes. Service has been top notch to date, highly recommended!
Thank you for your review! We truly appreciate your business.
Serviceman was prompt and friendly. He quickly diagnosed the problem, the cause and explained the repair required. The part was bad and in need of replacement. I replaced the part but that didn't solve the problem. Turns out the spark plug was the cause and when I replaced that, the problem was solved. The misdiagnosis is not my main concern with this company. My problem with this company is their billing practice. The work time they billed was greater than the time on the work order that the technician gave me. Additionally, they billed for travel time both to me and to their next client (I contacted them for clarification and they confirmed this).
Thank you for your review! Our technician confirmed on site your original complaint of undervoltage. The engine was running fine, but the generator was not outputting AC voltage. Our technician correctly advised that the generator brushes had to be replaced. Replacing a single spark plug on an engine that was working perfectly fine is not the solution for a voltage output problem. Each new customer is made aware of our standard labor rate and cost of travel before any appointment is scheduled. When you had questions about your bill, we re-confirmed your charges including travel (which were unrelated to any other customer's charges). When you continued to question the charges, we tried to contact you to further explain, but we did not hear back from you. We would be happy to speak with you to address your concerns.
Professional, prompt and they were able to help right away.
Thank you for your review! We are glad we could help.
The electrician came and checked out the generator. He found nothing wrong and just did an oil change. He charged us $440 in labor charges. That is exorbitant. He didn't give us any indication before coming that his costs would be so high.
Thank you for your review! Each new customer is made aware of our standard labor rate and cost of travel before any work is done. A customer is also given an estimated amount of time needed to complete a job. In this specific case, our generator technician provided a full service, which included a complete 75-point inspection of the generator and transfer switch; and replacement of the oil, oil filter, air filter, and spark plugs.
