If you just need walls done, this is your company. If you need detailed work done, like kitchen cabinets, crown and floor molding, you might as well do it yourself. I will have to redo all the cabinet doors. Floor tape was left so long, 3-4 days, that the paint was partially pulled away leaving jagged edges in the paint along the floor. Much of the molding has wall color on it, and will need to be repainted in those places. I was told all this would be corrected, it wasn't. But by this time, they were so anxious to leave, as the time to do the job was grossly under estimated, that if they did anything, it was still jagged in many places, and will need sanding and repainted. Paint was walked all over my hardwood floors, which was gotten up with denatured alcohol. The result was a paint haze all over the hardwood where it was cleaned, which I haven't ascertained will come up yet. There are spots of paint on my floors, carpet, and hardwood. Several valances were broken on my wood blinds, and will have to be replaced. The glass/blind inserts we had to replace in the double doors were put in, in such a way that the door warped to the side and will have to be redone in order to keep out any rain in the future. Much of this wasn't discovered until after they had left. To save time, we said we would put the cabinet doors back up. They were left all over, on plastic, leaning against walls, etc. because they were still wet, having been painted right up until the time they were trying to get out the door at dark. We waited for the two to three days we were told to let them dry. When we started to gather the doors together to rehang, is when we found what an extremely sloppy and negligent job had been done. Bare spots, previous color showing through, paint runs/drips. Disaster pretty much sums it up. We lived in our shop quarters for the whole time all this was going on, so as not to be in the way, 8 days, with a weekend in between. I guess I should have been looking over their shoulders the whole time, and not paid the last installment until we had the time to really check the job. We will know next time. When I tried to call and tell the owner about the doors and some of these things yesterday, and it was a Saturday, I got no answer, and the mailbox was conveniently full, so I couldn't leave a message. I'll try again on Monday, and see what happens. I'm just hoping I won't have to have the hardwood floors refinished; that I can find new valances for my windows, can clean up the mess made by these young men, who can roll a wall, but not much else, including do a good job protecting floors and furniture. This turned into a classic disaster. One that will cost more money, and time and effort to get corrected. These are nice young men, but woefully inadequate in what is suppose to be a painting contractor business. No, I would not recommend Neel Industries to anyone.
