I cannot believe people are still hiring Nest. They didn't open permits for electrical or plumbing until I called them out on it, which was part of the quote/contract. They built a shower and abandoned my job before installing the glass door. Had to call another vendor. They never closed the permits, which was part of the contract. They were very unresponsive and workmanship was poor. One of their subcontractors, hired to do touchups, even came to my house months later asking if I had spoken to the owner because they were never paid for the (minimal) work they did.

The customer service was terrible , a huge communication problem, understanding language barrier Did not complete the job and what was done was Had a complete Gut job in Master Bathroom. Work was improperly done and not completed. Bathroom shower door does not close all the way, No water comes out of the shower head , toilet leaks and water comes from behind the new wall causing Living room ceiling to leak, etc.

I contracted with Nest in early 2022 to get a 18' x 24' garage built. The final step (upgraded electrical hookup) was not completed until October 2023. Problems included: 1. Piling excavation dirt in the alley, with DC threatening a $5K fine. 2. Concrete subcontractor hooked a 2-story dogwood tree and pulled it down; they refused to compensate for the damage. 3. Carpenter framed 32" opening for a 36" door, and framed windows 1/4" to 1/2" out of level. I ended up trimming out the doors and windows myself to avoid further poor work. 4. Failure to order insulated garage door, which would have been a 5-month delay. I took the garage door out of the contract and located one (and an installer) in half a day. 5. Their HVAC subcontractor is the worst provider I have ever dealt with in my 30 years in this area. Failed to show up for 5(!) appointments, installed the minisplit head unit out of level, and failed to tighten the connections outside. The latter mean almost all the coolant leaked out, which took $350 to fix. Nest refused to compensate for this. 6. The failed to properly grade around the garage foundation; I am paying another contractor $4K to fix this and provide proper drainage. 7. Electrician mounted weather mast 4' below the outdoor hookup to the house for the upgraded power. Nest refused to correct this, saying the installation had passed inspection. Some of their subs (framers, roofers, paint and sheetrock) were good. But Matt, as a GC, was terrible. You might save some money with these guys, but the headaches aren't worth it.

Matt Shin/aka Deon Shin/aka Young Shin of Nest Remodeling, formerly Metro !, did a horrible job. Everything he did had to be redone. Lots of short cuts and shoddy work, He was 7 months past the project due date. He does not understand how to read drawings and he does not understand the building code. He lied at every step and eventually took my money and disappeared. I intend to take him to court and file a formal complaint with DC Dept of Buildings.

Hong and his crew are contracting unicorns! They first repaired a leaking bay window and water damage repair. He was the fifth contractor I met with and the first to actually pinpoint the source of the leak. From there he completed a renovation of my entire basement following a flooding disaster. Professional, competent, punctual, courteous and more. My basement is gorgeous. I look forward to them returning for additional renovations on my house. I have previously had very disappointing experiences with contractors and it is now a tremendous relief to finally have one that I trust completely.

We decided to hire Nest remodeling to rebuild our Bedroom since we enjoyed working with them when they rebuilt our kitchen 3 years ago (I still like it!). The restroom is lovely. We are quite happy with the design and the extremely competent job. Additionally, they were receptive to my queries and worries, providing me with timely clarifications and assistance in identifying a number of revisions to the plans. One caveat, there were some delays that made it more difficult to finish the task, so try to make sure they can advance smoothly when they begin. Overall, we are pleased with our new bedroom. We heartily endorse Nest remodeling for your residence.

I just finished a massive restoration of a 750 square foot apartment in Washington, and it was the most amazing experience. Each individual working on the project (Hong, Matt) was professional, constantly helpful, punctual, and extremely knowledgeable in their own fields. I am sitting at my freshly remodelled house and I am absolutely in awe of what was accomplished. There aren't any errors. Even their price was accurate, and everything happened as planned. I had no idea renovating an apartment could be so enjoyable.

They arrived and completed the task. They did an excellent job since they took their time and responded if I had any questions or needed anything tiny. They have my recommendation.

I had Nest Remodeling build a wet bar in my basement. They listened to what I wanted and made sure that all the details were to my satisfaction. I am VERY pleased with the responsiveness and professionalism of their staff and crew. I would highly recommend them.

He is a liar and disrespectful, he has all his equipment all over my place and he is not being attentive to his work.

The bathroom remodel seems fine but I paid them to regrout my kitchen floor at the same time. In less than a month the new grout was flaking off. They did not replace the grout, they painted a thin layer of grout over the old grout. I have spent the last 4 months trying to get them to do the work they were contracted to do. They have sent several people out to look at the work and scheduled the work to be done only to have no one show up on the scheduled day. No one ever contacts me to inform me of late arrivals or no-shows. I have to reach out to them repeatedly before getting a response. I am currently trying to get a refund for the work not done.

I used Nest remodeling for my bathroom. My husband and I love our new Bath! It came out better than I had hoped. They did an amazing job, was very professional and efficient. The project manager was very knowledgeable and did a good job on keeping us in the loop and giving updates. The crew members did a wonderful job and were pleasant to have around. I plan on using these guys again when we are ready to update our bedroom.

My husband and I used Nest remodeling for our kitchen and powder bath remodel and we had a fantastic experience with the entire team. Nest is a full service, all in one, remodeling company. They're with you every step of the way from design and material selection to renovation. Every member of their team was professional, detail oriented, and took pride in their work. They do all the work themselves except for specialty contractors (electrician) and demolition. Price wise Nest remodeling was on the higher end of the quotes we initially received but for the quality and experience, it was money well spent! Project: 2 Story Extension with kitchen and utility room to the ground floor along with bedroom and on-suit bathroom to upstairs with balcony. Nest remodeling llc is a Construction Contractor with dedicated and polite work force. Easy and prompt response to communications with Directors and site supervision. The quality and standard of work was good, and the Project was completed on time. I Would recommend Nest remodeling to future prospective clients.

We just bought a house and wanted to update it to a modern style. I got a bunch of quotes and their prices were very competitive. I found Nest Remodeling LLC through some friends that have used them and I wasn't disappointed. I remodeled my entire house and they helped me design my remodel and provided great information to give me options. Their attention to detail and design was exactly what I envisioned and am super happy!

Nest remodeling did an absolutely amazing job on our master bath remodel! We had several companies provide estimates and I am so glad we went with Hong, Matt and the team at Nest remodeling! To begin with, the way this company does business saves you money without compromising the final product. Hong sets you up with his vendors to get you high quality tile, fixtures, etc. at a discount. He is even willing to shop with you. The other companies we spoke to wanted you to purchase everything through them which would have added about 25% to our final cost. Additionally, the constant communication from Matt, our PM really eased the anxiety you naturally feel during a project like this in your home. The team showed up on time, were polite and cleaned up after themselves. They even finished the job AHEAD of schedule. This has not been my experience with most contractors. We will definitely hire Nest remodeling for our next job!

Hong and Carl were punctual, friendly, polite and professional. They laid out protective coverings on the floor and both days cleaned up before they left. It shows that they were perfectionists and took pride in their work as the final result is fantastic! We are so happy with the bathroom reno and the service received and definitely recommended ð

Nest remodeling did a great job. Definitely recommend as an all-in-one solution from design to build. They were just a little behind schedule, but nothing major. The lead carpenter was a true craftsmen, planner, and professional. He was the main point of contact and provided updates every morning. He was always on time from 7am until 3:00p or 3:30p or so. Our renovation looks great.

Nest remodeling were our contractors for our kitchen remodel. The remodel project involved removing all existing appliances, cabinets, countertops, and lighting, and replacing with new ones, including tiling on the walls. We kept the basic footprint the same, but re-worked some functionality and added a few new features like a wine fridge. We enjoyed working with the entire team throughout the project. The crew was helpful in answering our questions as we selected appliances and prepared for the renovation. He stayed in touch during the project and helped trouble shoot when needed.

Nest Remodeling is the most thoughtful, professional, on time, and caring company we have had the honor of working with! After a terrible experience with another contractor, we found Hong and are so happy we did! His feedback and honestly is something we appreciated, but also his eye for design took our house from a siding job, into giving our home a brand new look we had never imagined!
