New England Clean Air

DANGEROUS SCAM!!! This is all my experience and my opinions and what happened to me: DO NOT use Wasatch Clean Air -Apparently they bill under the name New England Air. This company left my family without heat and exposed to carbon monoxide. Long, nightmare of a story short, I hired them to clean out my duct work. At no point did we discuss, or was it in my contract that they would be accessing , or removing things from my brand new furnace. After they had completed the air duct *cleaning* and left, we realized that they had done something because we had absolutely no heat with temperatures dropping to 20 degrees. I became frantic and began immediately calling their office. It was during office hours so they should have answered. Extremes in temperature create a very dangerous situation for my family because it causes more seizures for my child which increased when the heat went out. I called over and over and left frantic messages telling them how dangerous it was for us to be without heat. I tried both of their locations, but no one would answer. To this day they have never tried to contact me to find out what was going on, fix my heater, complete the work I paid for, or apologize for their incredible negligence. Their technicians had absolutely no permission, or business taking apart my furnace. To add to the danger, three freezing days later I discovered that the reason my heater was not working is because their extremely negligent, careless technicians removed the CO2 Safety panel from my furnace and left it out. Not only were we left without heat, but they left us to die from carbon monoxide poisoning. On top of everything else I was charged for 17 vents and they only cleaned 15. They drilled and cut holes in my ductwork and did not seal them. They say they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, but they will just avoid your calls and not fix, or complete anything. Absolute scam of a company whose only desire is to get paid, make false promises about results, do things without your knowledge and then high tail it out of your house before you notice what they have done. RUN!!!!!

If you need dryer vents cleaned on the first floor, have I got the company for you! Anything requiring any type of ladder and you're out of luck. I set up an appointment to have our third floor dryer vents cleaned. I explained to the woman that the vents were on the third floor , are easily accessible, but a ladder would be required. The gentleman who showed up today to clean took one look, said he can't do third floors, apologized, and left.

I asked him if he was going to clean the inside duct and he said he only cleaned it from the outside.

We had kind of a mixed experience with NECA. They no-showed the first 2 appointments, but gave us a discount for the trouble. Also, they did not use circular brushes like I was told over the phone. It was a tassel-like brush on an air hose. The vacuum they used was a typical wet/dry vac you can buy at Lowes. But, despite the the size of the vac unit, they did a good job cleaning the main duct, blower, A-coil and plenum.

Project: Clean Heating & Cooling Air Ducts & Vents The work done was thorough and excellent. Good clean up and finish work. They were great to work with. The price seemed very high for this first cleaning and full service, and that was not clear when I first called them. Repeat cleanings in the future (which will now be less work) are guaranteed to be more as I expected.

Very polite man explained just what he was going to do....

He was very informative about the vents. He took before & after pictures to show the vents and accommodating with our schedule.

It takes 3 - 4 hours to complete. If they find something bad, it will cost a lot more than anticipated but glad I had it done.

Matt was very thorough in cleaning my ducts taking his time to ensure each was very clean showing me before and after pictures.

They did a thorough inspection and did a good job.. the price was a little expensive than i thought.

Peyton came alone one day and with an assistant (I didn't catch here name) another day. They were great. Our system is very clean and running smoothly now.

Bad follow through. Created a problem with leaking water in laundry room and still to date have not responded to my email or phone call to even attempt to rectify.

He and another young man came and put shoe covers on at our request. They took their time and were very thorough with the cleaning. They put everything back. He fixed a vent improperly installed by another company.

Austin with Wasatch Front Clean Air was great to work with. He was on time and completed the work as expected without a mess left behind. The price quoted to me was exactly what I paid. No surprises.

The only thing I would recommend would be a little more transparency with the cost evaluation.
