I was quoted a price for a movie with a 3 men1 truck that required 1 load up location and 2 unloading locations. 1st stop was a smaller apartment and the 2nd stop was a storage locker. My quote was for 3 men and a truck with those 2 unloading stops, Only 2 men arrived with a truck. That change in labor caused my schedule for the day to be spread out further than I had hoped for. Then a dresser was buried because it was used as a bulkhead to stabilize lots of loose boxes and containers. That dresser was supposed to unload at the 1st stop, at the apartment. I communicated well with both men where it was being unloaded before they began loading and both men seemed to understand me. While unloading at the 1st stop I was told that we would have to either repack the truck after un-burying the dresser near the front or return to the apartment after going to the 2nd stop (storage locker). I choose to return to the apartment because I thought that would be less expensive than repacking the truck with the balance of the things still inside the truck. We had to double back to the 1st stop to bring the dresser back to where I intended it to go. I also brought back 1/2 dozen other things too, all of which would have easily fit into my car, except for the dresser. When I received my bill its was 33% higher than the quote. They changed the labor scheme and thus the schedule and they created a zig-zag drop-off pattern by placing a dresser in the wrong place to support boxes. These are professionals. They should know better in two areas. By limiting the labor my day of moving dragged on for 3 or 4 hours longer than it needs to. Then the convenient bulkhead buried dresser caused the need for on the spot additional labor charges that were a complete surprise. I believe I was managed into that position by very smart movers. I prefer direct honesty at the estimated level, not good reasons for discovery during the move that cause price increases. at took my cost up to a better profit for Maher Bros. Movers.

The move went well from beginning to end. They were very respectful and helpful in all aspects of the move. Our property was treated and protected very well and set up as we requested at our destination. I would definitely use these folks again and would highly recommend them.

Maher was extremely professional and accommodating to my storage and moving needs this summer/fall. My furniture was protected well as I had to store it before my official move. I highly recommend Maher for any storage/moving needs, big or small.
