New York Floorman has been a family owned and operated business in the greater New York area for over 40 years. The business was founded in 1973 and there has been continuity in our family since its conception. Our success in the construction and real estate industry is well known and I am continuing along in this family tradition. I am proud to say that our reputation remains solid, as our prices and quality have consistently been competitive throughout the years. While we started out as wood floor specialists, and remain one of the most well known in the NYC area, over the course of the past few years we have branched out to expand our services. We are a full service general contracting company with a parent company called Bare Renovations (www.barerenovations.com).

the job was well done did not expect for the work to be finished in one day they were thorough and the workers did all the work in unison and neat the old wood was taken out and the new wooden was put in two rooms the price was reasonable the rooms came out beautiful lm very happy the rooms were done beautiful.

The professionals that came to the house were great, they were able to give me two quotes for the work, along with have to start the work, crew came in and worked for two days. Could not ask for more.

Overall, a job well done at a reasonable price. Floors were sanded and refinished and looked great. Planning was quick and easy, and job was completed in just a matter of hours. I would have appreciated a final receipt (maybe with a warranty of some sort) in addition to the emailed estimate and just some basic information about caring for my floors with the new water-based finish. A wall mounted shelf was knocked out of place, but nothing serious. Friendly, no nonsense approach. I would recommend.

Richard Kessner is a trustworthy contractor who has an excellent flooring team that refinished my living room floor and replaced a sizable area of ceramic tile with parquet.. We also had a kick-plate installed under our kitchen cabinets. The paint job was initially sub-standard, but Richard acted in good faith and had the work corrected. Any dissatisfaction arose because his foreman was not actively supervising his workers, a fact which I pointed out to Richard. In the end, we were left with beautifully refinished floors and a decent paint job.

I would recommend NY Floorman BUT...workman was careless and I suggest supervision while job is being done. Richard Kessner was made aware of problem I had and responded quickly and appropriately indicating his concern about doing a job properly. Because of this I'm confident that this will not be a cause of concern in any job he does in the future.

Overall the job went well and the floors look great. The price was reasonable, especially compared to some of the estimates I received from other service providers. The crew was good for the most part - ask for Edwar as project manager - extremely customer service-oriented. The only downside with the crew was lateness to the job each day - slightly frustrating but not a deal-breaker. I had a number of punchlist items at the end of the job, but those were resolved without stress. The owner, Richard Kessner, is a smart man and listens carefully to everything you say - his estimate didn't miss a thing. Would recommend.

Richard and his team were very professional and completed the job as contracted. His team worked independently in the space and were mindful to mask off the area for dust and other debris. They were very thorough and removed all access materials from the space when completed. I would highly recommend them again for future work.

We had 2 jobs done by them. The 1st job didn't go so well. The sanding wasn't as smooth. Then he said he would send his best crew for the 2nd job. That job went well. But he should have sent the 2nd crew (The A Team) to both jobs. However we were satisfied.

Work performed was better than expected. Floor really looked great. Apartment was left spotless. The workers were quite caring and very intent to make sure that I was happy with the work. The price was also the best out of five vendors I checked.

Fantastic work done at very reasonable price. Easy to work with Rich, who runs the various teams. I had my tri-plex apartment painted with various colors in each room and the the wood floors sanded and poly'd. My apartment building is a condo, but the rules are similar to a co-op. Rich was willing to manage the details to ensure the project would be completed on time making sure to respect the rules. I will be recommending New York Floorman to anyone who is looking for responsible contractors at a reasonable price.
