Nick is a pleasant guy that seems to know his stuff and is fairly responsive with communications. However, we found that we often had to repeat decisions to ensure that plans were followed and stay very engaged to keep things moving and on plan. While most of Nick's sub-contractors were good, we did end up "firing" his plumber/electrician contractor, John (Dutch Boy Plumbing). John is a mess, literally he never cleaned up after himself, but also he often no showed, didn't complete work he'd agreed to, leaving the job site with hazards such as exposed live wires, etc. This resulted in the kitchen remodel taking much longer than we were told, 6-8 weeks turning into ~3 months, and we are still finishing up and fixing things on our own. The finish quality of some things is subpar in my opinion, especially the electrical and plumbing. Ultimately, I'd have a hard time recommending Artisan. Especially considering the plumbing/electrical sub, definitely pull permits for inspection!

Nick was great at the start of our project. His sub contractors overall did fantastic work but didn?t get a finished product. Had some things I had to finish up. Overall I would hire again but knowing you may need to do the finish and touch up work will help you before you start.

All the work done was very well completed! We just have some issues with the doors of the cabinets. He did very well, I trust him that he will take care of it, and I'm very pleased with his work by always calling and keeping in touch!

Overall, organization and scheduling of work on this job was lacking (kept saying they were busy on other jobs). Nick did not appear to have a fully organized schedule and would only schedule the next part of the job when the task at hand was complete. This resulted in a lag time of days to a week until the next part in the project could be done. We had an initial bid time of six weeks and ultimately it took over three months to get the project done. We were not pleased with the subs for the cabinets as there was a lot of chipping occurring and poor quality installation, backsplash tile cracked after install, countertops were also chipped on installation, and the painters only painted 3/4 of our ceiling. Ultimately everything was fixed per our requests (except the painting) however the punch list ran endless and continues to grow despite the job being done.

We hired Nick at Artisan Home Contracting to remodel our kitchen. He has been a pleasure to work with and gets the job done! We are so happy with our kitchen and couldn't be happier. We will definitely use Artisan Home Contracting in the future!

We used Artisan for our kitchen remodel and are very happy with the results. We spent about $75K all together, $60K of which went through Artisan (we bought our own appliances and some fixtures). From demo to completion our project took 2.5 months, which was within the estimated range enough to be considered done on schedule. Most work was to the quality we expected (with only a few exceptions, which were handled professionally) and pretty close to on budget - we had lots of opportunities to make decisions about materials along the way, which drove our project cost up in ways that were transparent and understandable based on our decisions. The project involved removing a wall to open our main floor space, as well as considerable demolition followed by resurfacing walls and ceiling, installation of a heated tile floor, cabinets, quartz counter and a tile backsplash. Nick, who owns the company is an honest, flexible, hardworking guy who mostly project manages sub-contractors, with whom he has good enough relationships to get them to work on days when they are needed. Nick was involved in all of the steps and while he also had other projects going on, he spent a good amount of his time at our house on days when major activities were happening and we definitely felt like our project was his most important one during the peak of activities. Bottom Line: The result has us loving our house so much more. Nick is easy to work with - we recommend Artisan - actively participate in the process as you plan and go and you will get the result you want at a good value. We probably had a more precise vision for what we wanted than many people, but Nick was happy to collaborate and responded well and executed the special details we wanted to incorporate in our kitchen.

Nick is great, easy to work with and generally very responsive. He has a good selection of cabinets and other products and worked with us to find the right price and style. The one thing I didn't like (and caution people about) are the sub-contractors that were chosen. About half of the folks Nick hired were fantastic, but a couple of them were downright horrible. Not only would they no show, but some of the drywall guys stole some plantation shutters out of my garage. Another guy cut a hole in my ceiling for a range hood that was too big and never came back to fix it. Hiring good people is tough generally, but I would encourage people to know who is in your home. In all, we are very happy with how our kitchen turned out and would recommend Nick.

Nick was amazing. We had a hard timeline to meet because we had a baby on the way and he nailed it. Nick came in with a fair price (while most people in this town are gouging their prices right now) and has a fantastic crew. He was very close on his quoted price to the final bill and a pleasure to work with. Our kitchen looks like it could be featured in a magazine now.

We had the kitchen completely remodeled as well as wood floors installed on the main floor. Nick designed a beautiful layout for what is now a completely new kitchen. We would never have made the changes we did without his vision. The place looks fantastic!

The owner is very professional. He did exactly what I asked him to do in my bathroom and it looks great.

Nick went out of his way to make sure the cabinetry layout was perfect for my kitchen space. He offered his opinion on my ideas and had answers to my questions. His quality of work was perfection and he worked into evening hours and on weekends to get the job done. He was excellent to work with!
