Absolutely DO NOT hire this company. The contractor, Nicole, seems sweet enough, but once the job is started, she never appears. Without going into the details of the recent 3 month horror, suffice to say that her husband, Clint, runs everything. They misrepresented nearly everything about themselves and the project, including their schedule, and their capabilities. 4 days before I was to fly out, no contract had yet been signed; I had asked for a few typical items to be written in (start date, completion date, proof of ins, license). With my back against the wall due to airline tickets & commitments, they refused to add those items and threatened to pull out of the job. I moved forward with their contract. Big mistake. By day 3, they admitted they have NO tile contractor (most of this job was tile). They finally picked up a tile guy "from a good friend." Then that was the second disaster. He showed up whenever, at whatever time, some days not at all. His work was abysmal. Zero clue on how to lay tile, etc. Nicole never on site. After 3 weeks (for a 4 day tile job), hounding Nicole weekly, sometimes daily, it was obvious the tile guy could not do the job. Trash everywhere, in my home, in the yard, and on the patio where he cut the (crooked) tiles. He swears they don't talk to him; they swear he's lying. I finally cut my losses and paid off Nicole Anderson to get her and her awful sub out of my home and life. After handing her a check in person on May 13, and her promising to pay the tile guy on video, and in emails), she has not. She lies about sending a check, etc. There were other shenanigans going on, as well (I had a friend checking in on the house when I had to fly home), such as Nicole's husband trying to get the tile guy to get a letter of credit for them so they could buy roofing materials for a roofing job. That was when I knew there was no soul to this contractor, and certainly no skill to the tile guy. So, at this point, I've hired a lawyer, am filing a formal complaint with the CA State Contractor's board (failure to pay sub; using an unlicensed sub for more than $500 worth of work), virtually abandonment of the project, etc. Also, be wary of Home Advisor, because I'm not seeing a "live" license for Nicole in CA on the State Contractor's website. Home Advisor stipulates they check licenses, so I'll take that up with them.
