If I could give negative stars, I would. If your goal is to purchase a home where every day is a new adventure in finding out what you were not informed of, then this would be a great inspection company, but if you were hoping to not spend thousands of dollars post-closing on things that should have been caught at inspection, as I was, I had encourage you to go elsewhere. Before I start, let me acknowledge that sometimes, things are missed. When I found the first issue, the fact that the washer did t work, I had sympathy for the inspector. Stuff happens. When I discovered there was no cold running water in the kitchen, I had less sympathy. The final straw for me was the discovery that I had a massive, long-standing, leak under my bathroom sink. There is obvious water damage under the sink that I saw, and the leaking began almost immediately upon me running the sink, so this is something that 100% should have been caught at inspection. I also discovered that the diverter valve (a part I had to look up, it is what changes the shower from the showerhead to the tub faucet) is mostly worn out and thus has every shower running half faucet/half showerhead and the faucet in the bathtub is not connected to the wall, so the first time I grabbed it to scrub, it came away from the wall (luckily still connected to the plumbing). Still, mistakes are made, and I tend to assume good faith on the part of others. This was surely an error, and I was certain that when I contacted them, I would find the problem solved immediately. Wrong again. First, I emailed my realtor, who was zero help (unsurprising, given that he recommended the inspector), then I emailed the inspector. And waited. And waited. And here I am, days later with no response. Which is where I find myself. I have to have a plumber come out to fix things, which I will be paying for out of pocket because I can not get the inspector to respond to me. And buyer beware, even if I could somehow get a response, and they did agree to pay me per the contract, all that means is that they are refunding my $475. That is not nearly enough to cover the costs of what I have to fix. I would strongly encourage everyone to go elsewhere and to warn their friends because this inspection was worst than useless, and it will ultimately cost me several thousand dollars in addition to the fee that I paid them. Edit update: 12-20-2021 after posted many rating and reviews on different web site I did receive a email response. Although the company is not acknowledging any fault, they are refunding the money on the inspections. Having said that, the money is not going to cover one appointments with a plumber, I would recommend going with a inspector that is insurance to cover in cost associated with any items missed in the inspection. .

Justin completed two home inspections for us on two different proprieties and did an excellent job. He was on time, professional, friendly, extremely meticulous and made us feel comfortable. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking to purchase a property or wanting to learn more about a property. Worth every dollar!

Every point of reference in my inspection report had a quality photo to substantiate the inspectors findings and/or concerns. As a first time homebuyer going into my walkthrough on a new build, these guys level of expertise took away all of my fears and allowed for me to have a piece of mind during the process. After working with Nier Building Inspections on a Foundation, Pre-Drywall and Post Construction inspection I have realized that I would not be able to get a better house from my Builder. The attention of inspectors to detail is astonishing. They have very good knowledge of the codes, they have all the needed certificates, and they work with you on different levels to get the work done on time. They are present when you want them and they spend all the time needed and answer to any questions you have. The final report is also amazing. They are transparent with payment and the work delivery. Top Quality and Fair.

Michael spent 3 hours looking through the home we were going to purchase. Did a very thorough job. Was very familiar with current code. Made me feel very confident that we could complete a punchlist of items once in the home to make it a good place to live.

I am a first-time home buyer without many home inspections under my belt, but I can attest to Mr. Nier's friendliness, professionalism, and ability to maneuver through tiny, jam-packed crawlspaces like a ninja. Moreover, I had Mr. Nier's report reviewed by three people who are very experienced with inspections: A professional handyman, a nuclear engineer, and a former realtor. All said this was the most thorough, concise, and useful home inspection report they'd ever seen. So 10/10, I would definitely hire NBI again.

Mike provides detailed analysis in his reports and has excellent attention to detail. I am happy to have him as my independent inspector. As a buyer you need to have a third-party with a professional set of eyes to look into different aspects of your property.

Great team Mike and Justin. Got Radon testing setup for us on a weekend and promptly provided us the results. Not only that, Justin also was kind enough to take a look at some issues and inspect them for us in our new home without charging us anything. Appreciate it guys!

They installed the Radon Elimination system and did a great job. I think the Home INSPECTOR was questionable at best. Not sure he had the credentials. I should have had a second inspection before spending the $1,600. Radon is a problem up North but rarely down South, I have been told repeatedly.

Mike and Justin's service was excellent on the inspection for our new home. They both were very detailed and thorough and were very patient in providing full explanations of their findings. They walked us through every corner of the house and provided their professional opinions on the shape of the home. The full report of the home went into meticulous detail on all the findings and included suggestions for how to best take care of any issues that may arise in the future. We were extremely impressed with the knowledge of the team, the attention to detail, and the patience in fielding our questions. we would without a doubt use Mike and his team in the future and hope to work with them again on future projects.

NBI may not be the cheapest deal you will find but you will get your monies worth for sure.

Michael's service was incredible. He was thorough, took lots of pictures, and provided an outstanding written report that helped us get a lot of money back for closing. I couldn't have asked for a better inspection.

Professional, Fast, friendly and quality!

Mike is probably the best inspector that I've ever worked with. It wasn't just another job for him. He really took his time and caught even the smallest blemish on the home that we were buying. He gave excellent tips and advice on how to take care of HVAC units, granites, tiles, and a whole lot of other things. He was not only very knowledgeable but seemed up to date with the codes and regulations. His rates were very reasonable and I would highly recommend Nier Building Inspections.
