It was terrible as he advertised himself as a licensed and insured contractor and did work that he was neither licensed or insured for.

He asked for half down then never came to do the work. Always an excuse. Taking them to court because they don't want to return my money.

UPDATE: 4 stars to .5 stars. Since the project completed, I discovered that the two most excellent subcontractors have never been paid and they cannot get a response from Chris Nix. I would consider revising my review if they receive payment for their very hard work. Original review: I had a mixed experience with Nix Construction. My collection of projects (roofing, siding, electrical, drywall, carpentry, and painting) were completed well and right on budget, and the workmanship of the subcontractors ranged from fine to really excellent. Unfortunately, the company was going through a difficult time - a few of the subcontractors disappeared or had to be let go, there were special circumstances that sometimes made communication difficult or slow, and the project stretched from an estimated three or four weeks to about nine weeks. I think Chris has some great ideas and some really excellent people, but communication and reliability are a work in progress. I am really happy with the finished product(s), though.

He took my down payment of $4,000.00 and shut his phone off and I of WA told me he is no longer licensed or bonded within a week after my deposit for my kitchen remodel. I have to file a lawsuit against him to obtain any money back while still being without a kitchen for over 4 months now due to contractors being so busy in the summer. This was not a desire of mine, but a necessity for a remodel for water damage. I hope HomeAdvisor is willing to help a struggling widow with this circumstance.

Updated 5/31/19. Changing customer service to 0.5. Did not finish project, and non-responsive to communications asking him to finish the work. Original review: Chris from Nix Construction was the best!!!! Went above and beyond to make everything was done to our satisfaction, and then some. Was done ahead of schedule and kept us informed the whole time. If we ever need any more work done Nix is our 1st and only call.

We did not collect funds on the vanity and we are sorry it took so long to find out they were not going to be the right one however I did warn you there reputation of them doing this.
