"As a contractor you are bound to encounter unforeseen conditions, the first thing to do is to stop evaluate possible solutions and present the homeowner with their options and let them make the decision as to which option woks best for them. As a homeowner you have the legal right to stop a contractor from working and remove them from the project at anytime throughout the job if your dissatisfied with the work for any reason.
