Hired Tom to trim a tree & it started great. Then he left a ton of debris behind & promised to return the next day. Absolutely no communication after that despite multiple messages. Save yourself from my mistake. A good price isn't worth a half finished job!

I hired Thomas Newman of North Star Demolition/The Demolition Man in September 2026 for pool removal and backyard restoration. I paid a total of $7,500 for pool demolition, debris removal, backfilling, grading, and hydroseeding. While the pool was removed and some site work was completed, significant portions of the project were never finished. Over several weeks, I repeatedly requested updates and completion dates. I received multiple assurances that the work would be completed, including specific timelines that were not met. After sending a formal demand requesting completion, limited additional work was performed, but the project remained incomplete and communication stopped entirely. The grading work has created drainage issues and water pooling that now require corrective work. I have obtained independent estimates to complete and repair the project. Based on my experience, I would not hire this contractor again.

This business is very sketchy and unprofessional, goes by The demolition man, North star demolition, Newman brothers demolition. after several discussions with tom about demolition of basement, and was paid in full, he never came back after being here himself very little, and leaving the remaining job to someone else. i as a homeowner should not have to chase him. he will tell you ,you are lucky to have him otherwise be ripped off by another company. asks for cash always, plus extra, so you can also buy him pizza and tools, for him. never heard of this. he needs to take a look at other reviews for these companies. He pulls price quotes out of the air, without a contract and does not provide receipts.He is very vague and would not have finished the job if I hadn't kept calling. I noticed lots of downtime during which nothing was being done but talking, truck cleanouts, prolonging the job unnecessarily.As the owner of these companies, Tom should be involved somewhat from start to finish

I have a very old house that needs alot of work. I needed the garage taken down and the siding redone after. Tom came out and gave me a quote for the work communicated and explained the whole process to me very well. Its an old house so we ran into unexpected issues and he was flexible and worked with me through them. Did an amazing job making a house that looked rough look like it has life again. I paid in 1/3 increments and had no issues. Whole crew was extremely friendly and pleasant to have

Did not fulfill contract obligations. Took payment and left without completing project.

Tom reached out to me immediately and showed genuine interest in my project. He heard me out on project needs and enlisted the right people for the job, which ended up being his cousin Josh, of More Than Able Pool Removal in Hopkinton, who did the majority of the labor himself with one other person. My yard was a mess from lack of maintenance by the previous owners, installation of a new septic system, and renovation construction. Josh graded and leveled the entire yard, brought in fresh loam, hydroseeded, edged/mulched around the house and along my back fence, as well as edged and evened out my rock driveway. He also hauled away an old shed and removed all junk/debris that was found in the yard and shed during the process. He did this all in one week. 10/10 recommend!

The chimney removal went smoothly. Added other work to include the removal of shrubs and other yard debris. Finished everything off with a truckload of pavers delivered to my home for re-use. Will wait till the spring to have them laid down.

On time, clean on the job.

I Needed a pool removed for the season. After contacting Tom to schedule the demo, he made sure that the job was going to get done. I couldn t be happier with the finished product

They're definitely about demo. Took the chimney down much faster than I expected. Tom and his crew were always upbeat and that had to be a challenge considering the temps in the attic.

They are very compatible. They did a very good job working together. They had several young men working with them, it all went very well. It was a great experience.
