I hired them because they were passionate, smart, and affordable. I was walked threw every step and knew where my money was going. Very happy with the work, the workers care, the attention to getting the job done well and right. We hit some snags because the last roofing job was so poorly done there was an unexpected amount of rot and the need to sheath extensively where there was NONE in huge areas of the roof. Once up there, it was clear one chimney (unused) had to be removed for safety s sake and the primary needed rebuilding because of age-related deterioration. All the work was done well, although the extra problems added cost. I have enough experience dealing with old houses that this was no surprise. I would hire this company again.

Derek is very thorough and knowledgeable in all aspects of construction and building code. His crew is very helpful and creative in dealing with unforeseen issues. John is always available to answer any questions you may have about your project and arrange for vendors for your project is invaluable. They rebuilt the front porch on my house bringing it up to code. The work performed inside my house made it sturdier and up to code.

We have used Northeast Contracting for several projects over the last two years. They came highly recommended by a close friend of ours. They have been professional, honest, and get the job done quickly every time we have used them. Derek has been involved with each job we have hired them for, always bringing his great attention to detail to his work. Most recently they installed a new gas fireplace in our living room, and they really went above and beyond what we expected. They completed the job quickly, even helped us with the fireplace surround and beautifully restored a custom 1830’s fireplace mantel. You cannot find a better contractor in Rhode Island. We have already decided they are our contractors for life. Looking forward to future projects with them!

My fiancé and I used them twice in the last few months for home inspections. Our inspector Derek Smith was very knowledgable in all aspects of the inspection. He took his time to explain things thoroughly. He was very reasonable priced and was there both times the next day after we called for a appointment. We highly recommend Derek Smith and we would use him again.

I hate to write a negative review because initially I was high on the company, but that has changed since. We have used them for several house projects over the past 6 years. The reason I first used them was because we needed some work done in a hurry (due to ice dam damage) and they were the company that was available to come out the quickest. Initially we were pretty happy with the work that was done, however, it did not take long for there to be many issues. The quick version: 1. The 3 piece shower/tub was installed incorrectly (the gap between two of the pieces is much bigger than it is supposed to be). There worker came back to look at it, acknowledged the mistake, but said there was nothing he could do about it because it was screwed into the studs 2. Much of the molding that was put up is falling off 3. Some of the new drywall in the bathroom is rotting to the point that I can put my finger through it 4. They added a support beam to our house because there were settling cracks. Now the settling cracks are worse We recently used them again because a pine tree fell on our garage. We also did some other work in at the same time. 1. They incorrectly fixed the roof (they returned to do it correctly). They literally put shingles over empty spaces (no plywood under it). So if I stepped on those spots, my foot would have gone through 2. We had 4 new doors installed, and all four of them had problems. The three swinging doors were all installed way too tight, to the point that my kids can’t open them (I am only asking them to fix the front door). They also damaged the new sliding patio door with a screw gun, but that got replaced by the manufacturer At the end of the day, the biggest issue is their dependability. I have lost count of the number of times they were supposed to be at my house for something and never showed. I rearrange my schedule for nothing. There is always an excuse why, but there never seems to be any accountability. The only positive I can say at this point is the front man (John) is a good guy and easy to deal with. Moving forward I will be using a different company.

On time, prompt response and very cordial. I am a REALTOR and they performed a home inspection for one of my clients. He was very helpful, answered all our questions and sent a professional report the next day. My client intends to hire him to perform improvements to the property once she closes. Couldn't have gone better.

I cannot even begin to describe how completely satisfied I am with the service from Northeast Contracting. From the first call I made to John at the office to meeting with Derek on site to go over my roof repair project, the entire experience was one of the best I have ever had hiring a contractor. Derek was extremely clear and detailed about the work to be performed, and he even went the extra mile, finding other (some dangerous!) issues in my home that he could have repaired at the same time as my roof and truly made me feel like I had just had a detailed home inspection! The quality and speed that the work was completed was unbelievable. In just two days I had my entire house more secure and sound then it had ever been before. I plan to hire them again for remodeling work in my kitchen and basement (that's their speciality!) and I cannot highly recommend them enough for any project you have in your home!! What some other contractors had quoted me just to fix my roof, they were able to do that and so much more for an extremely reasonable price! Give them a call and you will not be disappointed!

Great experience! We got estimates from various contractors to have our roof reshingled, a skylight replaced, and a large hole patched in our interior/exterior wall, and Derek was, by far, the most professional. Reasonable prices, with a detailed estimate that explained every part of the work. We were able to schedule a time quickly, and were very impressed by the size of the team and the speed that our projects were completed. His team went above and beyond, ex: walking around our yard and picking up roof debris, answering all our questions, and were great to work with. We will definitely work with them again!

Knowledgeable and went out of their way to assist on other issues related to the house - cleaning my dehumidifier and making it work better.

I hired Northeast Contracting to install a fence in my back yard. The service that Derek and his guys provided was outstanding! They were courteous, professional, and took pride in the work they were doing. My new fence looks wonderful and you would never know that I had work done in my yard, the guys cleaned up everything so well! I have dealt with other companies before and none of them were as professional as Northeast Contracting. Derek explained everything they were doing from start to finish. I would absolutely hire them again and highly recommend this company.

I hired these guys to finish my basement and master bath and they did a helluva job. Very pleased with the outcome and would hire again for sure. Derek(the owner) and John(office manager) were great to deal with and always kept me updated on the progress, times for delivery(granite, flooring, plastering, etc...). Also, the working crew was top notch and very respectful of my property and worked full days without leaving a mess and damaging anything in my house. The finished basement and bath came out awesome and the workmanship in the fine details really sets these guys apart from other contractors I've dealt with in the past. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for high quality finishes. Not the cheapest guys around but, hey, you get what you pay for. The prices were reasonable and very fair to me especially with the end product they delivered.

I hired Northeast Contracting to build me an addition to my home. They were very professional, prompt and productive every day. They answered every call through out the project which was very comforting. The end result was amazing (more than i expected). i would definitely recommend Northeast Contracting to anyone who wants professionals doing excellent work on their home!!

Overall been pleased with timing and efficiency. Very professional from the get-go. Contractor explained the process of the job clearly. Just have a few minor tasks left and the patio will be complete. Our backyard looks so much nicer with the stamped patio versus a deck. In regards to the value, I had a hard time rating that issue since it is quite a chunk of money we had to come up with. However, just like everything else prices have gone up due to the economy. One day when we sell this house we're hoping for a good return on the costs.

I hired them to install a concrete walkway, cap off the old concrete steps, & install hand rails for the steps. Very professional group, team worked hard & well together, and were all very courteous with concern for the impact of the construction on the customer. Pickup / clean up after was well done. Workmanship was also very good.

I had a laundry room converted to a full bathroom. I was very impressed with Derek's integrity in providing the project quote and proposed scope of work. The work crew did a fantastic job completing the work and I couldn't be happier with the finished product. I was very impressed with the attention to detail and their respect of my time and schedule. Definitely looking forward to working with Derek and crew again soon....
