Tried to tell us we needed a new damper for $800. Pressed them to give us the make and model over 2 months and they would not. Went with a different company for inspection and passed. We bought the house a year ago, and our home inspector also did not see anything wrong but suggested we hire professionals. I would not recommend them for inspecting chimneys. They will upsell.

Peter was very responsive and honest. Work was done in a timely manner and he even pointed out other issues with our chimney that we weren't aware of. We only had a small issue with the office. We were sent a statement with incorrect information and when we asked for clarification on one of the terms listed on the website, it took a few days to get a clear response. Other than that, we had a good experience and would hire them again.

Crew sent to do job did not know scope of the job. I had to lend them tools I had to help them. They had to leave and go to Home Depot for the spray. I had to show them how to pull the fireplace insert. I had to lift the insert because one guy couldn t lift. I got ripped off for $800 and am still not sure the creosote spray was not on long enough for final grinding as was explained by the sales guy in office when I signed up for the job. The crew on job was not the problem, it was the front guy. The more I write the more upset I get! Don t use these guys.

I had three fireplaces needing attention. I was very specific about needing gas pipe unclogged. Serviceman arrived and did a good job of cleaning two fireplaces but said he knew nothing about unclogging the gas pipe. I called the office and spoke to the same woman who set up an appointment. She told me she had absolutely told me this could not be done with cleaning and that technician would give me an estimate to fix. This was an outright lie and I told her so. I went back to the technician and asked for an estimate to fix clogged gas pipe and he said he did not do this and did not know what she was talking about.

Northstar cancelled our Appointments twice. first time due to the weather. which we understood. Second time they did not call to cancel. they just did not show up period. And there custimer service folk are rude.
