scheduling is an issue. The technician is very professional and has done a good job.

The scheduling was a little weird.

On time, did the job. Cordial and efficient.

On time, quick and efficient, but very high price! For one half-hour work the rate was $370 an hour. For a fairly low skilled work this was outrageous. It make my attorney look like a bargain!

They didn't clean the door to my stove.

The technician arrived within the 2 hour window. He inspected and cleaned the chimney of our zero clearance wood-burning fireplace, There was a lot of soot and he was able to keep the nearby area clean by using a tarp. He also vacuumed up inside and around the fireplace before leaving. The whole process took about an hour. Great job! Now the fireplace draws the smoke out of the house perfectly.

Initially my phone experience with Tanya was joyful and I felt confident in their abilities and services. However, things did not go well. The chimney sweep (who did a clean job; I have no idea what he actually did as my father said he was in the apartment for less than 40 minutes) came four hours before our scheduled time. I was not here. The downstairs tenant was not available to let him in to her apartment as she had scheduled work to do and was also expecting him at the scheduled time. Tanya scheduled my service with a 2pm-4pm window. I was not called, nor informed of this time change. Nor was I called when the gentleman arrived. My father, who happened to be visiting from out of town, was caught off guard, and gave them his credit card number because he didn't want to seem rude. They were not authorized to charge any credit card. I was not told on the phone with Tanya that a credit card was needed, nor was I told there could be a possibility they would come before their scheduled time. I phoned Northstar Fireplace Services and left a message (after being shuffled between voicemails), and have not heard back from anyone. This is extremely disappointing as they have excellent reviews, and I was hopeful this would be a good experience. I do not wish to bad mouth nor bash the sweep, or the company; However, they handled their mistake poorly and still have not followed up with even a check in regarding the switch and unfinished job! Disappointing, especially for a well established company.

It was an awesome job! My chimney was disgusting!!

Our gas fireplace had not been cleaned out for more than 10 years, Northstar came in and cleaned it out and repositioned the fake logs for a better heat flow and even cleaned the tiles around the opening of the fireplace. Works and looks much better now.

The guys showed up right on time and were very professional in Northstar uniforms. They know their business and cleaned and inspected two fireplaces and noted no issues with the chimneys. They put some sealant in the fireboxes and cleaned up after themselves.

I hired Northstar Cleaning Service to clean & inspect our fireplace. They did a wonderful job. They arrived on time, were efficient, and very competent. I am VERY satisfied with the job they did and I would recommend them to anyone needing their fireplace cleaned.

This contractor did not have the proper tools to do the job- no bucket to remove hot!! coals, small flash light to inspect inside chimney. He was only going to brush my chimney one time until I told him to keep doing it until he got no more soot. Cleaned the chimney from inside the house only. My chimney has a bend in it, did not get up on the roof.so he could inspect the top half of the chimney or the top cap or spark arrestor.

They accomodated my schedule and cleaned and inspected my fireplace beautifully.
