Oklahoma Asphalt

I hired him for church parking lot pavement. He forgot to put water pipe underneath. In about 30 days after completion, weeds start popping out through the cracks of the asphalt in several spots. I notice the density of the asphalt along the edge shows more gaps than main area. I called, left message 7-8 times for repair but no return call at all. He picked up my call finally and told me he would come to repair on following week. But he did not show up, no calls. I called 3-4 times again still no return calls as of today. He may contact you promptly until he gets paid but I felt he is very irresponsible with false promises for repair service. The job was over $30K and I already have problems just after over 30 days and I have to tell you that I am very disappointed. Please beware, make sure you get all your need in writing before you pay.

Decided to hire John Donohue Paving because he was in neighborhood and was going to do both our driveway and neighbors which are adjoining. We were planning to have a new roof installed in two weeks so we were reluctant to get new paved driveway because of possible damage due to heavy equipment. Mr. Donohue assured us that if damage was done he would be able to repair it. We decided to have driveway repaved and the job was very well done - finished driveway looked awesome. A week later roof is installed and some damage was done to driveway. I contacted him to perform repairs. I called him the following Tuesday and let him know about the damage. He said he would be out the next week to make repairs at no cost to us. He did come out the following week and made several "patches" where the damage was done. His crew did miss two spots where their still was some damage. My wife contacted him and he said he would repair that last spot and also seal the driveway for free. I will update this review when he completes this but given he already came back out once I am confident he will again. Hopefully after sealing the new (and repaired) driveway it will look like it did after his original install a month ago. I would recommend him as his company did excellent work for us and our neighbors.

They are incredibly responsive. I talked with owner at 11 am and by 12:30 pm his son was at our house. He finished the driveway crack repair and sealant in about 25 minutes. UPDATE: I found overspray all over the base of my garage doors. And now three weeks later the crack seal (I was assured their method of sand was better than rubber sealant) has blown away after a thunderstorm. They sent out a 16 year old without supervision and while he was responsive and fast -- it was also without quality. Stay away from this company.

Good work, good price and finally after couple of scheduling conflicts we were able to put it on the calendar.

Owner came by to look at what had to be done, very professional and to the point. Next day, I called to hire him and we agreed when he could come in. He had working on the project 5 or 6 guys removing grass, some old asphalt, cleaning. There were two drivers, two trucks with asphalt. One small cat (tractor), one large cat (tractor) to pour asphalt, flattened, etc. Each group knew what to do, were organized, did not waste time, and were done in approximately two hours or so. Everything was cleaned: yard, sidewalk, street. Took away their cats and their trucks. Cordoned off the new asphalt driveway. It looked beautiful. Excellent job.

John called quickly after scheduling the appointment and showed up within a half hour. Coincidentally I was in close proximity to a current project and John dropped by. We shook hands and the project was completed the same day. No complaints when I hosed the new pavement to find drainage problems and fixed them on the spot. Great job.

Shame I can't give this Contractor a SIX! I have come to expect slipshod work from local contractors, with multiple call-backs required. John arrived for an estimate when he promised, negotiated a fair price, and delivered above and beyond in repairing and resurfacing my driveway. My poor drainage problems are GONE, and it really improves the curb appeal of the home. He's on my short-list of go-to Contractors - thanks, John!

John was quick in providing me with an estimate and presenting me with a thorough brief on what I could expect. He recommended repair vs a fully new asphalt driveway as one other had recommended. While determining which of the three contractors to hire, John stopped by to follow up and offered to complete it right then while his crew was in the area if that is what we wanted. I said yes, and by the time we returned home we had a newly surfaced driveway with excellent results at a good price. He even did my neighbor after mine the same day.
