Old Faithful Clean Air

This company charged for services not performed. They made claims and promises not fulfilled. On October 20, 2020, I had a technician that arrived from what I expected to be Old Faithful Clean Air located out of Idaho Falls, ID. The vehicle of the tech was labeled using the name of another company. When payment was posted, it came from another company. The technician was personable and proceeded to service the furnace system in my new house. The vents were very dirty from the previous tenants. He gave me a quote sheet and showed me what the services beyond the basic vent cleaning would do. I believed his promise that the treatment I was going to pay for would clean up the air in my home, and get rid of the visible growths in the vents, and protect my ductwork from further microbial growth. The technician guaranteed that within 48 hours, the visible growth would be removed, and the smell of the animal would be gone. I called the company after 24 hours asking if I should see any changes. (I did not see any changes by that point, and I was concerned). I was told that the tech would come back to re-spray the next day. He returned and did no additional vent cleaning, only spraying each vent again. We hired a second opinion tech to give feedback on the system, and he showed me where the work was incomplete in other areas - the AC coils were gritty and cleaned halfway, the ducts had carpet fibers, dust, toys, and debris left in them. The air handler was cleaned part way and had visible filth left behind after the tech did the cleaning. I was also charged for 3 supply line cleanings when this home only has two. (We went into the crawl space to verify this). I also had checked the dryer vent and found the screen full of lint, and it looked like it had not been brushed out. All of this, and more, was supposed to be cleaned by the technician for a total of $1178. I would be willing to pay for the service, as I know the ducts clearly needed it, but the company did not fulfill their promise to clean them and has ignored phone calls, texts, and emails since Monday, Oct 26th. I am looking to get reimbursed the amount paid, so I can hire a reputable company to clean the system. Additionally, reviews online showed me that the company, Old Faithful Clean Air (the ones I made the appointment with) had good reviews. But the other company has a mixture of good and bad reviews with some customers telling of the same thing I experienced.

Project: Clean Heating & Cooling Air Ducts & Vents The work done was thorough and excellent. Good clean up and finish work. They were great to work with. The price seemed very high for this first cleaning and full service, and that was not clear when I first called them. Repeat cleanings in the future (which will now be less work) are guaranteed to be more as I expected.

Very polite man explained just what he was going to do....

He was very informative about the vents. He took before & after pictures to show the vents and accommodating with our schedule.

It takes 3 - 4 hours to complete. If they find something bad, it will cost a lot more than anticipated but glad I had it done.

Matt was very thorough in cleaning my ducts taking his time to ensure each was very clean showing me before and after pictures.

They did a thorough inspection and did a good job.. the price was a little expensive than i thought.

Peyton came alone one day and with an assistant (I didn't catch here name) another day. They were great. Our system is very clean and running smoothly now.

Bad follow through. Created a problem with leaking water in laundry room and still to date have not responded to my email or phone call to even attempt to rectify.

He and another young man came and put shoe covers on at our request. They took their time and were very thorough with the cleaning. They put everything back. He fixed a vent improperly installed by another company.

Austin with Wasatch Front Clean Air was great to work with. He was on time and completed the work as expected without a mess left behind. The price quoted to me was exactly what I paid. No surprises.

The only thing I would recommend would be a little more transparency with the cost evaluation.
