Our water had high levels of iron and manganese staining our sinks and toilets and we were spending too much money on bottled water. So we decided it was time to get a water filtration system. Donald took my call and was able to come out to our house in a timely fashion. He was very knowledgable and showed a passion for his work. Donald was thorough and completed the installation and our water is now clean and drinkable! We would highly recommend Donald and Olde Colonys services.

I have to agree with all the other reviews on here. Donald at Old Colony is fantastic. I just bought a house, have been settling in. The moment I tasted the tap water, I realized something was really not right. The chlorine and mineral taste made it undrinkable. A few days in the shower, and it was already starting to make my skin break out and dry up. Awful. Looked up water treatment guys, and contacted three groups. One guy said he would Fedex me a testing kit, so I could test it, then get back to him, etc.. The other guy directed to a place where I could buy a testing kit, get it sent to me, test it, get back to him... Both groups, I was looking at at least a few weeks before anything was done. Donald answered the phone at 7 at night, told me he could be there the next day and he was. He tested the water on the spot, showed me and explained to me the results and what I needed to fix it, and we set up a day the very next week for the install. He showed up, set everything up within a few hours, and because I was lacking an electrical outlet in the right spot, left me his own workers light (which also functioned as an extension cord), to hold things together until I could get an electrician on there to get an outlet put in. (He also supplied the name of an electrician he works with a lot, and that guy also, no surprise, was awesome. Scott Bettinger at Bettinger Electric, by the way). Guys, the water tastes amazing now. HUGE turnaround from where it was before. My skin is so much better too. I swear I thought I was spoiled with Boston tap. This water is far better. Fantastic job. Where everyone else was talking weeks of waiting (which is a big deal when you are hauling around gallons of water from the store for drinking and face washing.), Donald was there basically immediately, set me up with water as soon as possible. These reviews describe him as a people person who cares about what he does, and that is completely on the mark. I am so grateful to have gotten my water situation fixed up so quickly and effectively. Thank you so much Donald!! Addendum: two more things to note: My regular plumbers who service my boiler and will be doing other work for me noted that if I wanted to increase the water pressure from the water main pipe, I would have to replace the piping that Donald use. They described it as “Home Depot quality”. As in, it works, but if I upped the pressure, it may break. I will likely have them do it during mrenovationns. Also I did have a subsequent follow up with Donald. My water was starting to irritate my skin and wasn’t feeling as ‘soft’ when I showered. I called to ask him to come out and test it for me again, but Donald declined, saying he hears this all the time and there’s never anything wrong. And if I really really insisted, he could come out for a service fee. I forget the exact amount, it may have been around 75-100$. I declined to use him for that service.

We received yet another notice from the Town of Plainville regarding municipal water quality. Based on that, my wife and I decided to look into some sort of filtration system. We happened to receive a card from Olde Colony in the mail just a few days later. My wife had called other companies but their prices and responses did not feel right. We called Olde Colony and had a conversation with Donald. We then set up an appointment for a few days later. Donald arrived on time and provided us with detailed overview of the many different systems that were available. Rather than hard sell of the most expensive systems he recommended a system that seemed perfect for our home and budget. Donald was willing to do the work the next day but we needed to push it out to the following weekend. He arrived on time, fully equipped with everything he needed. He performed the installation in the same day. I made a last minute request for a not-so-slight modification to one of the plumbed lines to an outside spigot. Donald came back the next day to make that modification and he generously maintained the quoted price, which he promised when we first met. He did not require any sort of down payment and even offered customized no interest payment plans. We were planning to pay in-full so we did not take him up on what appeared to be a great financing offer. We have had the system for about six months and our water is great. Showers feel different, dishes and glasses wash and rinse clean and the water tastes fantastic. No more chlorine taste! Donald is an honest businessman and a good guy. He was a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend his products and services!

MY WATER SYSTEM WAS ABOUT 30 YEARS OLD AND WAS BEGINNING TO FAIL. I RECEIVED A CARD IN THE MAIL ADVERTISING THEIR SERVICES AND GAVE THEM A CALL. DON WAS SUPER QUICK TO RESPOND AND TO SETUP AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE A LOOK. IN ABOUT A WEEK, I HAD A MODERN WHOLE HOUSE WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM INSTALLED AND RUNNING. THE CHANGE IN WATER QUALITY IS IMPRESSIVE AND I REALLY APPRECIATE DON'S HIGHLY KNOWLEDGEABLE NO-NONSENSE APPROACH. HE HAS BEEN VERY RESPONSIVE TO ANY QUESTIONS THAT I'VE HAD ABOUT THE SYSTEM OPERATION. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO FRIENDS. THANK YOU OLDE COLONY!

This is the best system. Donald did the install and was neat and clean. The system works great. We had brown water and now it is clear. All the stains are gone in sinks, toilets, and tubs. Donald explained the process, no filters are needed. We feel our family is healthier with this system. Donald was right, this was the best system to install. UPDATE 07/25/20. His follow-up was poor. Cannot get him to service my system. Explained at the install how important it is to do maintenance yearly. However, I will have to call someone else to do the maintenance. Do not like people who do not stand behind their work.

Donald is one of the people you meet who are very passionate about their craft and take immense pride in their work. He installed a system in our home and the work was excellent. Donald goes above and beyond even with the little things. Such as offering to run out to the hardware store to get an outlet splitter since we had no extra plugs available. I would highly recommend him and his company.

We were looking to install a water treatment and purification system. Donald met with my husband and I to go over what he offers, how it works, what the maintenance is, etc. We decided to go with him the very same day. He arrived a few days later with all the equipment and staff for the install and completed it that day; took away any debris and left the work area probably better than he found it. We tested the water after a month and found the PH to be a bit high, which was the opposite of what it was. He assured us that was to be expected and that it would balance out within the month and for us to send him a water sample and he would have it tested at that time. We did...and he did...and the sample was well within range. Because this is a high purchase item, he offered us to put 60% down and we could pay the rest over three months - which we did. There was a snafu with an extra payment being processed. When we reached out to him, he was gracious and said he would look into it and he had his office staff member call me. It was a weird occurrence, however, it was handled promptly, courteously and with apologies even though it didn't seem that it was on their end but on the bank end. The Water is great and we have no qualms about recommending Olde Colony Clean Water, Inc. to anyone! If you need the treatment, I would highly recommend you purchase the treatment system from them.

Donald graciously met with my wife & I for 2 hours on a Sunday to test our water and consult about his service. After every one of our questions was addressed, we decided to go with him and were thrilled that he would be able to do an installation that Tuesday. The work was done perfecly, just as described in one day. Donald made sure I understood the equipment and supply needs later that day. Very happy with the results so far!

Our water was staining our tubs and sinks, and the taste made it undrinkable, so we thought our existing treatment system needed maintenance. Donald examined our existing water treatment system and provided a straight forward and honest recommendation, with no sales pressure. He was also extremely timely in his delivery, I called him on a Wednesday, he examined our system the next day and he installed our new system on Saturday. I purposefully waited over a month before posting this recommendation to see if our water issues have been mitigated and they have been. Everything Donald promised has been delivered. I am extremely pleased with my experience. I have found my new water guy!

We found Donald's number from Home advisor. He did an amazing job installing our water softener system. He was very professional and a great guy to work with. Because of the very high iron content in our private well water, we have been struggling with water purification issues in our house since we moved here 14 years ago. Donald is the first water treatment professional we have worked with (and we've worked with several) who seems to understand our problem and who has offered a sound and cost-effective solution. He responded quickly to our call for help, came to our home the same day, proposed a solution, and installed the equipment the next day. His standardized equipment should be easy to service or repair, if necessary, and his price was less than what we paid for our failed system five years ago. We look forward to having him service our system annually.

I had been searching for quite some time to find a company that could help eliminate hard water issues we were having in the house. Just a few weeks after moving into our new house, we noticed that the toilets developed a dark orange coating where the water sits and the upper tanks were almost black. Our faucets and showers were getting a buildup where the water sprays out and our shower door (even with squeege) was getting a haze on it. It was clear we needed a solution to a water issue. I called a few companies before going to Home Advisor, a few came out and tested the water and the result was always the same. I never questioned the testing being done but the reviews on the companies coming out were too inconsistent for me to feel comfortable spending thousands of dollars with. I went on Home Advisor and submitted a request for a water treatment install, expecting some salesman-like calls etc. The next morning Donald from olde Colony Clean Water called and he actually seemed appreciative (imagine that!) to have a potential customer. Donald made time to come see me on a Saturday, just a day or so after he called me. Donald did a water test and quickly identified the issue, he didn't over-explain it or make it out to be something that needed a ton of equipment....he simply said we have hard water and need to treat it with this specific system. I tested Donald's claims of excellent customer service by asking him to install the system the next day......which he did. Donald and his son Mike were on time, professional and made sure they cleaned up behind them. They are two normal guys who like what they do and it shows in the quality of product and support after sale. Donald also installed a second water meter for me (not within his typical scope of work) which involved working with my town to get a permit and he went and got the water meter and paid for it upfront so I didn't have to go get it. Donald also coordinated an electrical so I could have an electrical outlet installed closer to my water softener and the price was extremely reasonable. I know this review is lengthy and thats because the consequences of choosing the wrong company to install something you will use everyday are monumental. Read the rest of the review's here and decide for yourself but I can tell you.....you won't find a better company to sell, install and support your home's water softener. I have had Donald servicing my system for 7 years now and before that the prior owner had used Donald for 6yrs. When the old system was getting long in the tooth Donald made some suggestions for us to begin to think about replacing the old system. The key here is we never felt pressure or any sales tactics. Donald has all the industry knowledge and experience with a strong base of the industry history to give his clients the confidence that the job is done right! I like to think of myself as a Do-It-Yourself homeowner so I had many questions and Donald went the extra mile to educate myself and shared his knowledge. One of the most important attributes I look for in a contractor is that they are respectful of my home. I did mention this to Donald and he responded by putting down tarps where he would be bringing tools/ supplies out of my home. I will conclude by saying it was a job done right and I would be happy to recommend Olde Colony to friends and family.

First I would like to Thank you, Donald!! Olde Colony Clean Water did an amazing job. I now have an A+ water filtration system installed for my well water at a very affordable price. This company was outstanding start to finish. A wealth of information prior to install, during, and after. They accommodated my many requests without ever making me feel like a pain. Donald was very responsive and professional in his communication. He promptly installed the water softener and provided thorough information regarding the product and its benefits for us.

Donald did an initial assessment of my water and told me what I needed. Suggestions made, but no pressure either way. Installed the system without any suprises in regards to the quoted price. Six months later, when I had a concern if the system was working properly, he came back. System was examined and, luckily, nothing was needed. No charge for the visit. Would definitely recommend Donald and his son to anyone needing similar service.

Donald and his son did an excellent job and I was very pleased. They even came on Sunday so that I didn't have to take a day off from work. They were professional and knowledgeable. Glad I chose Olde Colony.

Donald was light years ahead of our old service provider whose lack of credibility unfortunately became evident when our 15-year old septic system failed the Title 5 inspection. Our old provider who installed the system in 1999-2000 and then had serviced and maintained it annually since left the clean out running directly into our system despite being here annually and knowing that this was a building code violation that he should have corrected around 2005. The end result is we now have to purchase an entirely new septic system at approximately $25,000.00 plus Olde Colonies services which is more than a nightmare in itself. Donald came in and assessed the system in short order, made his recommendations to correct this crime, and in turn we now have a new service provider! Being a contractor who utilizes Home Advisor myself made hiring Donald an easy decision. His experience is second to none, and my wife and I now feel like we're in great hands moving forward. We wouldn't let anyone else touch our system ever again - period.

He know what he is doing. Installed my water system as quoted without any surprises. Had all the parts needed. I was very pleased. Later on he came back to answer a few issued my wife & I had. No charge, & Donald answered all issues.

Donald was very informative about what we needed and a pleasure to work with. The system works very good just as he said it would. So many things are much better with this system, too many to list. I will say this my dishwasher works wonderful. We haven't run it in years thinking we needed a new one.

I'm very pleased w/ the water softener and pH neutralizer that Olde Colony installed in our home. As a first time home buyer, I didn't know much about hard water and its detrimental effects. I started calling around to talk to water treatment experts and Donald was in my home within an hour to look at our tank. He gave us his honest opinion, for better or for wors, which I appreciated right off the bat. His price came in higher than some of his competitors but in the end, my husband and I decided that it was worth it to have a seasoned expert taking care of one of the most important elements of your home. Water chemistry might seem boring to some, but he really is passionate about it. I know it sounds weird, but it's true! Donald and his son Mike did a wonderful job installing the filters. They did it within a day and they were unobtrusive and respectful in my home. He showed me and my husband how to maintain the filters and how to add the salt to the tank (what type to use, when to refill, where to purchase). Donald also came back to my home a couple weeks later to help install a dehumidifier, even though it wasn't part of the original scope of work. He just did it as a favor because he was grateful to have me as a customer. He also took that time to follow up w/ a hardness/pH test to show us that our water is now near perfect.
