Write a ReviewKnowledgeable, professional and did not worry about them in my home
Chad was very helpful to work with. He was very knowledgeable and worked hard to get my jobs completed timely. The work was beautiful and the work area was always kept clean. My home became so much more functionable to meet my needs and utilize the space better. My larger bathroom with the heated floors was one of my favorite updates to my home. Thank you Chad and team!
READ THE OTHER ONE-STAR REVIEWS - THEY ARE TRUE AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME! Hired RCO, Inc DBA Royal RC Construction (OWNER: CHAD and AMANDA TROUT) for a remodel and addition to our house in late June 2021 and made our first payment on the proposal on 7/8/21. On 8/4/21, we made our first contract payment and met with Amanda, to sign the contract and go over design choices. The work was estimated to be completed from 9/21/21 - 12/21/21. As 9/21 approached, there was no communication from Royal, so I reached out to confirm the start date. On 9/14, I got an email from Amanda saying she sent be a message in B**********d (the website the GC said would be how he communicates), but I could not get logged in because they never set up my account. I tried to reach out to B*d and they could not help me unless the GC set up my account. Finally, after Chad and Amanda got back from their vacation, I was able to get in and see that they were delaying the start of construction so they could have everything 100% completed and ready to go once construction started (this meant everything ordered, permits in hand, subs lined up, etc). Excuses started to roll in - first they could not start because everyone was so backed up in the work load (I can kind of see this, so ok, no big deal), then the permitting office was backed up, then they needed to submit more for the permit, then it was because I was not paying for the change orders (which I told them I would pay as the work started to be completed), on and on, excuse after excuse. Our new construction start date is 11/29/21 (over 2 months beyond our original schedule) and is scheduled to be completed by 5/3/22 (now 5 months longer than discussed). 11/29 rolls around and nobody shows up for construction, even though Chad pretends that someone is supposed to be there. Then, after I let Chad know that I had someone go over to the house to see if there was anyone there, Chad asked if we could meet again. That evening he came over and stated he made a mistake on measurements and if we wanted to do the extra 4x12 on the extension, it was going to cost another $50,000. Demolition started on 12/1/21 with the shower door being removed in our basement bathroom. That. Was. IT!! For the next few weeks, it was like pulling teeth trying to get any work done at the house and me texting/calling/emailing Chad DAILY to get a schedule only to have nobody show up. Finally, I had had enough and reached out to the subcontractors myself to find out when inspections were to be completed the first week of January. Turns out, NO PERMIT has even been pulled for the work completed so far, so these inspections were just another web of lies coming from Chad. I also started reaching out to the vendors where tile was to have been ordered, etc, and they confirmed they have no record of any order ever having been placed and no payment to them has been made for any product and, in fact, will not allow Royal Construction to place any orders without having payment in full, since they have had so many issues with Royal Construction paying for product in the past. We have terminated Chad and Royal RC Construction and demanded a return of 97% of our funds back (over $80,000 at this time). DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!
Royal construction does absolutely beautiful work! Chad and Amanda can make any remodel a carefree process at a reasonable cost. They truly care about their customers and it shows in their work! Having a company like this in Omaha really adds value to the community!
Friendly when signing. Then began not showing up when promised, not responding to messages, not communicating delays. Took 365 days to **mostly** complete project that was promised to be finished in 30 days. I finally gave up getting project completed and cut my losses... I would NEVER recommend this company. Royal Construction and the owner, Chad Trout, was not accepting responsibility or apologies for this poor service... so disappointed!
Can Trout and his crew were wonderful. I couldn't ask for anyone better.
They did a great job. Quality work...great crew.
Thank you for the great review ( Consumer name withheld per their request ). We greatly appreciate being allowed in to your home to finish your basement. We hope you will enjoy it for many years to come. As always, we're here for any questions you may have. Thanks again!
I did write a review for S & H last summer after they completed my work and it somehow didn't get posted so I am re-submitting a review. I hired S & H to do a garage enclosure in my split level home--I use the lower level for a music studio. Chad came and gave me an estimate which was lower than the first estimate I received. He was very knowledgeable and made several recommendations that confirmed his experience in doing this type of construction. I was very pleased with every aspect of the job--the electricians added extra LED lighting and outlets with no extra charge. The main builder, Steve, did outstanding work with the framing, insulation, door installation, ceiling texturing, and painting. All of the employees took special care to keep the area clean and made every effort to avoid drywall dust and dirt from entering the rest of the house. The cleanup was impeccable, right down to cleaning off the dust from the driveway! The job was completed right on schedule. Chad kept in close communication with me about every aspect of the project as it was being completed. Everyone was very knowledgeable, courteous, and patient with me......yes, I did waffle on making a few decisions! I would highly recommend S & H construction and have already referred them to several people over this past year. I give them my highest rating of A+++++!
Quality work.
Excellent service, and listen to what you want.
