a lot of omissions, for things that were not done, and co missions for the things that I had to pay for to be completed correctly
Response from One Call Does It All
"This customer was in Arizona & bought a condo in rough shape in Maine. He called me after the previous contractor had gutted the place out & hung and finished the sheet rock and made ready for paint. I gave him a price to paint one coat of paint (he refused to pay for a two coat job that is recommended by every paint manufacturer). After the painting was completed he asked if I could supervise & coordinate the flooring installation, appilance installation, furniture installation, kitchen cabinet / counter top installation, cable TV installation and do various other small jobs (install closet organizers, replace door knobs & hings, relocate washer/dryer, replace soaking tub, repair windows). When he arrived he raved about how great the place looked and agreed that there was more to be done and now that he was in Maine he wanted me to work on those things. But things went wrong when it was time to pay me for the work I & others had done. he then found fault in everything and refused to pay for anything on the bill. He then proceeded to hire other people to finish the details & asked me to pay them for their work. I explained to him that he was billed for time & material for the work that was done & we agreed there were details to be completed when he arrived. I have later found out that he has had problems with every company he hired to do work in the condo. Some have been back muliple times & he still isn't happy with them. I have hundreds of happy customers in my years in business but every once in a while you meet one that you just can't please."

Awesome service and value. Highly recommended, easy to communicate with, responsive and professional. We hired One Call Does It All for some major projects in our kitchen remodel including lowering a farm sink, demolishing a tile counter and back splash. The former, frankly no one else wanted to touch. They started right away before the holidays between juggling the volunteer Toys for Tots gig! Excellent work. Now they have also installed a ducted Island range hood which we are also very happy with. The invoice was also clear and timely, and best of all, great value. One Call Does It All really gets it and we will be hiring them again 100%. I would recommend for any project including plumbing and electrical.

Leo Menard (owner) sent out someone to repair my roof. There was no improvement whatsoever. I paid one call does it all and contacted him (Leo) to advise. He said he doesn't do roofs and gave me the number of the person he sent out. I contacted him and never heard back. I went back to Leo as I had paid HIM. He would not stand behind the work. I informed him I would advise Home Advisor of the unsatisfactory experience. He replied that he would tell them he did not want to work for me, and it was a two way street. I maintained all the correspondence between us as it was becoming very stressful and no progress was being made. He began to harass me via text messages,at which time I advised hime I was blocking him from my phone. I had another company come out and the repairs were done properly and in a very professional manner. The repairs are also under warranty.

"This person was told she needed a complete new roof by the company I sent out to her house. She was getting water in through the bathroom ceiling but the shingles were so worn out they looked like plain tar paper, Because this is a duplex she was going to try & get her neighbor to approve a complete roof replacement. When she called I told her that I sent out a company to help her out but if she had a complaint they would have to work it out between them as I wasn't involved other than to suppler her with someone to help out. She then wanted me to back up their work & I explained I referred her to them because I don't do roof . She had to pay me because they didn't trust her to pay for the temp patch."

I hired Mr. Menard and was not at all happy with his work ethic. First, he did not show up on time. Second, the quality of his work had a poor and **that is good enough** attitude about it. For example, while installing metal shelving he made unnecessary holes in the walls and left many screws and nails protruding from the walls, which obviously should have been made flush with the walls. Third, while installing an ironing board hanger on the backside of a closet door he drove both screws right through the door where the screws are visibly protruding on the front side of the door. He said he would come back and repair the situation, but he never did. Consequently, I had someone else repair the damage. I did have a few more small projects, but thought it wise to hire someone else.
Response from One Call Does It All
"Well I guess as the say "no good deed goes unpunished", Tim M. had just moved into a condo & had boxes piled 5' high on all four walls & some of them 2 rows deep. I went on a Saturday because he couldn't wait for 2-3 weeks to fit into my regular schedule & he lives in the same town. As for being late I was there 5 minutes after the hour & he followed me from room to room making small talk while i was trying to determine the location of the studs to attach the shelving to. It was a project every time we moved from room to room to work as things had to be shifted around to there was room to work. I installed three closet shelves in a bedroom & one in a living room closet & hung a bracket for the ironing board. The door for this bracket was hollow core door & the ironing board weighted twice what the door weighted. Yes I made two holes through the door because the door had nothing internally strong enough to hold up the ironing board but I agreed to come back & patch them. Tim never answered my calls to return nor did he call beck, maybe because he was $25 short when it was time to pay the bill & he didn't want to pay the balance."

Project: Install or Repair a Sink I waited a while until I got over my anger to post this to see if I really wanted to...and I do. I had a leaky faucet in the bathroom, which I thought he would replace, but only put two rubber things in. In the meantime, the toilet began not shutting off and he replaced the unit inside the tank . Then the shower wouldn't shut off. He took off the part that puts water into the tub and broke the pipe, which he didn't check on before he left, saying he would have to call his plumber to finish the job. After he left, I found water gushing into the ceiling below the shower. I managed to shut it off. In the meantime, the plumber did his work and charged me $250. Leo came back and was irritated that he didn't have access to the shut off valve for the whole house and proceeded to make me a door, sawing through the wall. The door consisted of a block of wood with a screw through it. All the while this was going on, Leo called and said he couldn't make it this day...on another day he'd be hours late, only to tell me he couldn't come the following day. Very inconvenient, but I lived with that. So, it's finally finished, $400 later and, guess what...the faucet still leaks! Reply on his review....It says One Call Does it All, so I didn't think I was asking much to ask if they unfroze pipes. He could have said no. Not true that there weren't plumbers or heating people. He was the only one I called! He acts like I put him out asking for repairs to other things. I didn't say to do it for free. I thought he was a handyman who did it all! The plumber charged $250 to install a shower head and faucet. I don't think he had to be begged to do a job he's trained for! Why he would feel sorry for me is a puzzlement. I didn't go around saying woe is me. I called who I thought was a professional handyman to do things he should have been capable of. Also, I never said the toilet valve had been replaced. We had a replacement kit but never used it. His little hole was about four inches square and something he never asked about. I think he was mad because he was too big to go in by the washing machine. He was always griping about something.
Response from One Call Does It All
"Well here's the rest of the story; this older woman first called me for a frozen pipe during the the coldest 3 weeks we have ever had. I don't work on those kinds of problems but felt bad for her because there were no plumbers or heating people available in record weather like we had. I found the water main frozen because of a lack of insulation, so I heated it & got the water flowing & insulate so it wouldn't happen again. On the second call this customer again couldn't get a plumber so she called me to fix a shower valve that wouldn't stuff off so they had to shut off all the water in the house. Again I felt sorry for her & tried to help but found the shower valve was so old & rusty it was beyond repair so I called my plumber & begged him to help her. Before he went over, I managed to isolate the water to just the shower so they could have some water until the plumber came. Keep in mind that the whole house water shut off is behind a finish wall that was build in front of the valve. So this next time around I cut a small hole in the wall & covered it with a small block because I didn't think she would be able to get to the shut off where it was. She then asked me if I could fix the vanity faucet & look at the toilet that ran a lot. I found the valve seat worn out in the Delta faucet & the toilet fill valve leaking water past the shut off. So I replaced the toilet fill valve & installed a Delta repair kit to the vanity faucet. She then mentioned that the toilet valve had been replaced before which then made me think she might be having all these problems because of high water pressure. So I called the Portland Water District to find she has almost 90 lbs of water pressure, well above the recommended 60 lbs limit. So I suggested she have a pressure reducing valve installed or she would continue to have problems with her plumbing fixtures. But after seeing how ungrateful she was for me helping her out twice, when she couldn't get anyone else, I chose to not quote on the additional work. Now you know the rest of the story!"

Leo went out of his way to do a small repair job for me. I live outside his normal work area. Thank you Leo for doing that for me! The job was repaired and done right! I would hire Leo again.

Leo is great guy and really knows his stuff regarding small projects-toilet installs, replacing lights, cleaning gutters. I had many remodeling projects last fall that he coordinated. He hired another plumber to do my sink(3) and tub(1) installs. When I tried to turn my whirlpool tub on the first time the jets didn't work. The response was I would need to call the manufacturer. Leo did come over, but we were not able to identify the issue. After several calls to the manufacturer I discovered there was a plug hanging behind the wall that had not been plugged in. Leo also hired another person to help paint bedrooms, bathroom walls and ceilings. After many starts and stalls over many weeks the work was completed. Not very professional, I had paint on a lot of the stained door and window trim, and edge of ceiling, some on carpets-but I was putting in wood floors so not an issue. I've since gotten an estimate to have some touch up/repair done. At one point I commented about pencil marks left where the bathroom walls had been marked to install lights and medicine cabinet. Comment to me was "they will wash right off". Again, Leo is a great guy but perhaps should stick to small projects. I should have given him direct feedback, but these projects last fall were my first experience attempt at doing some remodeling. In hind sight I tried to get too many projects done all at once. I think we both learned a lot about the pitfalls of taking on too much. I would still call Leo for small projects, however I did ask him a few months ago to replace a leaky outdoor faucet. He said he would swing by the next week. That was 2 months ago.

I was very pleased with Leo's work. With his expertise and knowledge he was able to complete every task easily. He added 4 shelves to a closet, removed damaged drywall and replaced, and added box for dangling phone outlet. Also paint trim and walls in room. He was a very neat worker so paint did not get all over. I certainly will hire Leo again for other projects.
