I had a horrible experience with this builder. Our house went 345+ days past the proposed completion timeline. Multiple failed inspections resulting in redos. A day before closing the builder requested additional funds on a fixed rate contract claiming it was due to Covid-19. They refused to provide evidence of any prior notices of overages to owners and refused to provide documentation supporting their claim. The builder is preventing us from closing after the significant delay with this build. I recommend potential home owners verify with existing owners of homes built by Origin Homes prior to proceeding. Their tactic appears to be they would underbid and come back at Closing to request additional funds. Closing will be stalled regardless of whether they can substantiate their claim. They do not use reliable sub contract and sometimes they leave for day or weeks stalling the process of the project the owner had to push the project along and the owner has to find subcontractor to get the work done. Make an informed decision, they over promise and undelivered!
