Otero Landscape

I would not recommend Otero Landscaping to anyone. They disconnected my landscaping lights and never reconnected them. They said they would come fix them and I have not heard from them in 10 months. I opened a claim with Homeadvisor and all attempts were ignored by Otero Landscaping.

Tony, and Galo were very nice guys but extremely unreliable. Would tell me they were going to show up on a day and then never show and no call. The lawn was eventually installed but after just a few months portions of the lawn began to die. I called and asked that they come back and take a look and Tony eventually showed after rescheduling several times. Tony said he would take a soil sample and get back with me on the results. I have tried contacting them several more times to get them to correct the problem with no results. The lawn is now dead in some spots and dying in others.

Very pleasant and paid attention to detail. They were the first to respond to my inquiry. I would hire them again.

Work was done in timely fashion when promised

I found Tony, Juan, Geraldo and the other installer from Otero Landscape to be very pleasant professionals and would highly recommend them to others. They were the first to respond after my phone inquiry to Home Advisor for a sod installation project. They reported for work at the promised time and did an excellent job. This was my first time using Home Advisor and I would not hesitate to do so again. In fact, after Tony and his crew finished, I hired them to plant Holiday flowers for us next week!!!

Had spoken to other providers--all of them were fine. The scheduled appointment with Otero Landscape was not only for the tree trimming/ pruning and clean up of overgrown bushes but also for landscaping and driveway quotes. Juan Otero was very professional and impressed with his knowledge and deep understanding of plants and trees. His company just finished the first phase for which he was present. Could not be happier with the work, and look forward to the next 2 phases. He is a pleasure to work with. He is truly the best.

Juan is very good at what he does. He turned my 4 apartment buildings from looking average to something out of a magazine. They now look amazing to my tenants. Juan is the best!

I interviewed 4 vendors for the job and while I was very happy with a couple of the others, I sensed a deep understanding and a rare quality in Juan Otero. All this was matched by the service and professionalism. They did such a great job that I hired them to landscape other area of our home. This company is a rare find and though he may be very busy, is well worth the wait. Juan Otero has a vision backed up by an education and many years of hard work. You will find few individuals who can match his ability. When the work is complete, a sense of joy is present.

I would Not recommend this company to othe people ,because when Juan said they will work on cutting my trees and treating the insects but he worked by using very unprofessional methods, and those insects coming back after one week, and I called him, he said he will come but he didn't show up and I can't reach him any more.

Juan was very nice and knowledgeable. We spoke about sod to stand up to our 3 dogs urine that destroyed our first lawn. I decided to go for a fescue called RTF which grows deeper roots and can repair itself since St. Austine sod was scarce and starting to be come dormant. Juan showed up on time but his crew was a little late. They rototilled, added some gromulch, sloped it away from the house as I requested, laid the sod and rolled it. The job was beautiful. My only little issue was they covered 3 of the sprinkler heads with the sod so I made hole with a serrated knife. Juan is a great guy!

Initially on a small contract Sod Job I was impressed and they were attentive, so I asked them back for an additional 12K budget - Otero Landscape was incapable of providing any quotes in advance of work, was late in delivery, short in supplies and materials, ran significantly over budget without approved authorization and left my job incomplete with cashed checks for materials not delivered, debris left in public streets, neighbors upset, and failed to do an initial assessment to see what native inhabitants may be counter to plantings and plans - I've lost most of my lawn and shrubs to gophers which I've been told would have been an Leah fix at install with chicken wire lay ed below. A new home and a new region for me roses decimated by deer, and yard by gophers, a deck more than double the costs, incorrectly constructed, on the property line with out proper permits despite the inquiry and large 30 year old tree intended to be thinned mistakenly cut in half falling into the neighbors yard that tree provide noise dampening thru a major canyon road - is not replaceable, so many problems I can't begin to explain the unkept commitments.

Good price, great service. Showed up on time. Completed job on time.

We hired Otero Landscaping to create a large flat space in our backyard. The job included a large flat area, sod prep, sod install sprinklers, a Rail Road wall around the flat area, a walkway on the side of the house, remove and old and plant in a new palm tree, plant a shade tree in the backyard, install netting and ground cover in slope areas, and they re-sodded the area they used to stage their materials. We are very happy with the job. Juan was very easy to work with, he has great customer service skills. Post completion, they returned and replaced some ground cover that dried out.

I had 3 estimates of tree removal services, but Otero Lanscaping has cheapest price. They showed up late, but they worked so hard. For the price of this hard work and a lot of things to do on my property, I decided to pay them extra money. I will recommend people to hire them to do the job, because we will save a lot of money for this service. I will definitely hire them in the future for cement work around my house. The reason that I give them 4 star, because they showed up really late.

Great work, fast turnover, quality service.

Otero Landscaping installed a front lawn including sprinklers for me and did a beautiful job. They did it in a day and the lawn is growing in beautifully. They followed up to check in on it and to see if there were any concerns. I highly recommend them!

The sprinklers could work better (hit sidewalk as opposed to grass) and the quality of the sod (St. Augustine) could have been better (dry)

best sub contractor I have ever hired. I generally am very conservative on ratings, Juan received all 5's. can't say anything more about the quality of his work. Have recommended him to a number of friends who saw what he did for my house,

I just had sod installed by Otero Lanscape and it looks beautiful. They came on time, did a nice clean job and the price was very competitive. I have now hired them to do the maintenance every week. I hope they stay as good as they seem.

We hired Otero landscape after having bad experience with number of other gardenrs. We are so pleased that we found this company through Homeadvisor.The company is run by Otero brothers Galo and Tony. Both brothers are very nice, courteous and expert in their own area. They can provide great solution with the reaonable price. We initally hired them to get rid of some over grown Ivy but we got so impressed with their work quality that we awarded them our next project and regular maintenance job. I am waiting for the project to complete and share more feedback later.

Seems to know what they are doing. Has only come 2 times so far. I think they will be good.
