Timeline ** 01 Aug 2018 - Contracted with Outdoor Solutions of Oklahoma / Neal Haggard to build a back yard fence. $5,000 down payment. ** 12 Sep 2018 - first work start and problems start with poor quality workmanship. ** 19 Sep 2018 - 2nd advance payment made of $15,000 **23 Oct 2018 - Agreement terminated fence less than 1/2 completed - $6,973 owed to client. **02 Dec 2018 - Date of this complaint - Outdoor Solutions owes $6,973 and refuses to respond. Background Outdoor Solutions was paid $20,000 in advance for installing a backyard fence. From the start the crews did not show up with equipment or materials to prepared to complete the job for the day. Neal was informed to ensure the top line of the fence was straight, as a primary expectation. The next day first 100 ft of 6' cedar picket fence installed was poor quality and the top line was crooked. Even Neal agreed it did not meet the stated minimum expectation and would have to be removed and re-installed. It was torn down and re-installed utilizing most of the pickets that had been removed having multiple nail holes and split pickets. The cap and trim was installed prior to installing caps on the top of the posts allowing rain water to fill the posts and freeze requiring paying another contractor for re-work. Outdoor Solutions / Neal Haggard continually postponed and delayed work blaming the weather, equipment problems, crew availability, material deliveries, or multiple of excuses for continuous no show of crews and work delays. When questioned why work was not progressing on some reasonable expectation or timeline and crews were not showing up as informed, Neal was always argumentative and blamed circumstances out of his control including blaming me for past design changes but he never took ownership of the continued delays and problems and never provided a solution or a reasonable target completion date. Even on days when weather was not an issue his crews failed to show as informed without a phone call or communication from Neal. We terminated our agreement on Oct 23 2018 as Neal and I had a heated phone conversation resulting from his crews not showing up, then arriving without materials to complete the job and relating to the previously stated problems. In this phone conversation Neal was arrogant, threatened to stop work and pull his crews from the job. As anyone would imagine a very heated conversation ensued as a result of having invested $20,000 with Outdoor Solutions only to see continuous delays, poor quality workmanship, endless excuses, followed by arrogance and threats to stop work. Neal considers me a difficult customer. However, I rate him based on his performance as an incompetent contractor. It was his poor performance which drove the complaints. The estimator was well versed on options and took into consideration specific site problems. The work crew were on time each day, very approachable and knowledgeable about the project. They were friendly and got to know our dogs!

I hired Outdoor Solutions to replace a 141' wood fence that had fallen down after 12 years because the wood posts rotted. I worked with Neal Haggard, very professional and super friendly, and he explained everything very well. They installed the cedar fence on steel posts driven in the ground, not in concrete, and he said it will last a lifetime and included a warranty. The panels have a 15 year warranty. They installed it in a day on Dec. 29, 2017 in the cold. I gave the work 4 stars because I would have liked the fence to be straighter along the top, not dipping down with the unevenness of the ground but they explained that it would cost more to fill in the dips with dirt and make it even. A few of the runners on the panels were cut ragged, however, overall it looks very good. Their estimate was cheaper than the other companies. Also they don't charge for haul off of the old fence. Neal even came by himself to check on the job after the installers finished and he came by 2 weeks later to take care of a small problem I let him know about. Very easy to work with.

I am thrilled with my new deck. This is a company to trust. They are master builders. The project was large and complicated but they finished the project in a shorter amount of time than I expected or hoped for. It is beautiful. I highly recommend them as thoughtful and dependable.

The crew was outstanding.

Do yourself a big favor, hire someone else! They work one afternoon and don't show up the next day, no calls, no excuses or apologies. The job was supposed to last a few days and it took weeks to complete. They threw the dirt they excavated for the retaining wall onto the neighbors yard creating a problem with the neighbor. In the end the retaining wall is shorter than the dirt behind and the dirt flows over it when the sprinklers are on. That's exactly the problem I was trying to solve by building the retaining wall.

Very neat job of installing a landscape pavers patio. Very helpful to do a job I was satisfied with. Had to wait for a while because they are very busy but well worth the wait.

Neal and his team were awesome! I live on a corner lot, off of a main road; I have two puppies, and wanted to make sure to have a sturdy fence built to keep them in! Neal made sure to make the fence sturdy; they did a great job. The cedar fence looks amazing! I would recommend him and his team to anyone! His prices were affordable, and the work was excellent. The team came when expected, installed the fence within a timely manner, and cleaned up the old wood. Thanks for the amazing fence! We will be using Neal and Outdoor Solutions again!

I found Outdoor Solutions through Google because they were one of the few companies that do both retaining wall work and fence work in my area. Neal was prompt getting out to my home to look at my existing retaining wall and advise me that only part of the wall needed replacing immediately, while the other portion still had several years of life. I think this is the mark of someone who stands by his work, he didn't try to upsell me on getting everything done at once, but rather seems to trust that I will be happy enough with the work he and his crew did in order to come back in the future (I am, and I will). Neal gave me an estimate using the three most common materials for retaining walls, as well as two material options for installing a new back fence and gate where none previously existed. I was able to select materials that were most applicable to my budget and needs as a homeowner. I scheduled the work with Neal and his crew was out as expected. I was told that the work would be completed in a week, they started on a Monday and finished up Friday afternoon. The fence is sturdy and looks very nice, the gate they put in it opens easily so I can get to the back portion of the yard. The retaining wall is sturdy and has a slight stairstep to it (my existing wall was installed straight up and down and had already started to push out at the top) and has three times as many tie ins back to my yard as what were previously there. Where the retaining wall was replaced drops down to a large terrace. Outdoor solutions had to remove the wobbly wood steps to replace the retaining wall, and when they reinstalled the steps to the terrace they must have added extra reinforcement because the steps are quite sturdy now. As a woman living alone, I rely primarily on the opinions of my father. He saw the work the weekend after they had completed and he was extremely impressed with the quality of the retaining wall and fence. He noted how well the retaining wall was tied in. I cannot recommend Neal and his crew more highly. They did an excellent job for a reasonable price in a quick timeframe. I will happily call on them in the future when the rest of the retaining wall needs to be replaced!

Outdoor Solutions gave me the lowest estimate on my fence repair. When the time came to do the work, they were very professional. The work was done to my satisfaction. I would recommend them to others and will use them again.

I hire them for a house I owned in OKC. I live out of the state and communicated with them online and over the phone. I told them what I wanted and they came out with in two weeks and did the work beyond my expectations.

Neal and his crew did an excellent job. The workmanship was high and I was always kept informed of the status of the project and what the next step was.They did such a good job that I hired them for a follow on project building a storage shed.

They quoted me the most reasonable price for what I needed, came out within a week and were done by noon.

Neal and his crew did everything we asked them to do. They were very polite and kept the work area clean. The deck looks fantastic and very well built. They even added extras which they did not charge us for. I highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.
