Working with Outer Shield Roofing was one of the best experiences we've had working with vendors in the last few years. First and foremost, the estimate done was so thorough. Alejandro spent probably triple the amount of time up on our roof, inspecting and documenting, compared to anyone else we had out. Once he was done, he came to my door, showed me pictures and videos of everything wrong. But he also spent the time to explain to me what the problems were, why it was important to correct them, and why he would be recommending certain types of solutions. We got a full estimate from them, with three different options, from the most affordable to the most expensive, but with explanations about the specific differences between the options. Sound like what you'd normally expect from an estimate process, except we haven't been able to get service like this from any vendor in more than decade. Our project was complicated. Not only do we have solar panels, and an AC unit on our roof, everything that could be done cheap and wrong has been done to our roof (before we owned it). We had an old chimney that needed removal as well as some old vents for swamp coolers long gone. Even though some pretty terrible additional things popped up during the project, the whole thing came out within 6% variance on our estimate. Compared to all of our other home projects, that was excellent. Someone who can provide estimates that accurate on a roof as complicated as ours is a true professional. All steps of the process are documented with photos and videos from beginning to end, which is really cool. And good business. Every day, the work was started when scheduled, and cleanup happened every night. Before they left, someone would check in with me to let me know how things were going, and what the next day would look like. Most of the time it was Alejandro, the owner of the company. He was often at our house, working and supervising. Many times he would show me progress pictures and explain what they did that day. Deliveries of materials came when expected. Subcontractors (for the removal of the AC and the solar panels) came when scheduled, and were well managed by Alejandro. Again, something we've had so much trouble with in the past with other vendors. I've had bad experiences with contractors in the past, so I am the type of person who googles everything someone tells me I need or should do. Every time Alejandro explained something to me or recommended something, I would check it out, and every time his explanation or recommendation would turn out to be the industry standard or better. Alejandro and his crew were professional, fast, and pleasant. I've not seen a better run crew or project. Not only would I recommend his services, but I told him to leave the lawn sign in front of my house so my neighbors and passers-by can get his info. Special shout-out to Erandi who was so communicative, responsive and supportive. She helped me get my paperwork to the insurance company and made the contracting and payment process easy. I'm sure you'd like to know what we think of the roof? It's great! I know it seems like it should be the star of the review, but in truth, we don't see it much. The photos and videos are great, and the workmanship is spectacular. But really, it was the process that made the whole project!

When Outer Shield Roofing was contacted to look over the roof for a quote, they explained all three options available to us. Once the option was picked, they were able to obtain permits fast and the work was started soon after. While they were working on the roof Alejandro showed me pictures and videos of everything that was previously not done to code. Alejandro and his crew were professional, punctual, and kept the work area organized. My overall experience with Outer Shield Roofing was excellent. The quality of the work they did was exceptional. One of the best things about Outer Shield Roofing that stands out is the transparency with the owner. I knew everything that was going on and why things needed to be change out. When looking at the work that was done by the prior company, Alejandro explained to me (referencing the building codes) why things were done wrong and included pictures. My overall experience with Outer Shield Roofing was great. They removed my A/C, swamp cooler, and solar panels without any issues. Outstanding experience from Alejandro and his team. They were helpful keeping costs low during the quote, worked with us on colors and samples, coordinated a seamless transition to a flat roof in back, and had the whole roof replaced in days. After a few months we had a few follow up questions and Alejandro was very helpful getting it resolved.

Erandi keeps everything organized and communicates quickly, while Alejandro worked hands-on with his crew to complete our roof before the rain on a very tight timeline. They answered every question (and there were MANY), were respectful of health concerns in our home, and took the time to educate us on the roof in its entirety, including ventilation, underlayment, and the chimney.
