DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS CON-MAN CHEAT. I hired James Owens Raingutters to replace 3 gutters and install gutter screens that were being loaded up by debris from a nearby Redwood tree. The quote was a bit over $1000. James Owens assured me this work was 100% professional and 100% guaranteed. Due to my work, I was unable to be there to watch Owens do the work. Huge mistake. I was notified the work was done as scheduled. I stopped by the jobsite and FROM THE GROUND, I could see the new gutters had been installed. My untrained eye assessed the job had been done. I sent the full payment. WRONG. Within 1 month THE GUTTERS FAILED. I called James Owens Raingutters. James was courteous and said he would be out the next day to correct any issues. HE DID NOT SHOW UP. I got on a ladder to inspect the gutters more closely. GUTTER GUARDS were NOT installed despite being in the work order and being paid for. Again, I paid over $1000 for 3 gutters with gutter guards only. SEVEN CALLS and 7 promises to fix the problem later. He has now blocked my calls. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS CON-MAN. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. DOZENS OF TEXTS AND CALLS LATER, I have gotten only promises to fix the problems. No action. He has never kept his word and never showed to fix any of the issues. He has now blocked my calls.

James no showed 6 times after accepting my $350 deposit. I have a record of 36 texts and 11 phone calls that I placed to James between 8.12.21 and 8.19.21. He never answered the phone calls that went directly to voicemail. Not once did he initiate a call or texts. He promised to return my deposit and then no showed on those 3 dates also. I'm contacting Home Advisor and also plan to take him to Small Claims court. If it were possible I would attach the printout of our texts.

I had some issues with the gutter installation and wanted to have him correct them. I called and asked him to come by, and he gave me an appointment. Well, he did not show for that appointment nor did he show for 7 more appointments he set up, leaving me waiting all day every time without even a call to let me know what was going on. 8 days I wasted waiting and he still has not responded. If this is the caliber of professional contractor Home Advisor uses then I will think twice about using them.

James Owens responded quickly to bid the job, Indicated he could get the job done in 2-3 days. After that work, was done intermittently. Continuous delays and missed commitments, When he indicated the job was done after 2 weeks or so, I found that all the corner joints end caps and down spout were installed incorrectly. Leaking everywhere. I asked him to come back and finish the job. He missed several commitments to return as promised. Finally, I had to contact another contractor to inspect and repair the work. It will cost $3500 for repair. Flashing weren't installed properly, joints were not sealed, caps were not installed properly, in one instance there was no cap, but a flat piece of gutter, The gutters need to be graded for drainage. The down spouts not connected properly to the drains. So basically it's a total redo using the materials left that still be used (basically the gutters material). DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Untrained workers and unreliable owner.

"Bob this is completely wrong , your gutters were beautifully done and when we walked the job you approved of it and payed , you were never charged a penny for flashing for ur job which would have ran you over 3000 that I did not charge you a penny for , I have messages notifying you that I would gladly come out and reseal any kind of potential leaks that may have occurred and u declined that offer , so I?m sorry u felt like u needed to leave this review but the offer was there and still stands to get this sealed for you as for flashing u were never charged for flashings"

The staff from Owens Rain Gutters that came to my home was polite, respectful, and pleasant to work with. I received an estimate that was very reasonable. My home is elevated so there is a little bit more settling movement. They're for the gutters needed a slight repair. I called Owens Rain Gutters and three days later they were on my roof making the necessary repair. I highly recommend them.

hired to pressure wash my roof and clean out rain gutters. he pressured washed the roof broke 4 tiles didnâ t tell me, found out by seeing pieces around my yard. He did nothing to gutters. after calling him out on it he blamed his guys. he claims they told him that they did it, he was onsite so i donâ t know how he missed it. i think he didnâ t think id climb up and review the work. shows what kind of employees he hires if they are lying to him. he said he would give me $200 back for not doing the gutters and he never did. i have many txt messages of entire conversations with him admitting to not doing that portion of the work. messages him agreeing to refund $200. he now no longer responds to my messages. he lied saying the check was in the mail. A month later nothing has come, he said heâ d come in person and drop off the refund and never showed up and thatâ s the last i heard from this guy. beware he is dishonest and unreliable. i have pictures of my gutters clogged up, pictures of his dishonest text messages and also a video clip of one of his employees taking a piss on the corner of my house, he didnâ t see the ring camera. worst experience ever, iâ m going to find all websites and post, if you want to see pictures of his dishonesty please message me and i can share with you so he doesnâ t do it to anyone else. in reading his reviews online there are few people who have experienced integrity issues with this guy. oh and lastly he showed up 90 minutes late on the day of the job. james never called toni form he was running late just showed up and acted like nothing. that should of been a flag to me to send him packing and then i wouldnâ t be here writing this review. he continues to promise to deliver the $200 and still today as he promised again 8/10/21 no refund. All be aware of this guy totally dishonest, no integrity.

"Hey Paul I find this review to be completely unnecessary and just an act of spite, I gave you a price to pressure wash the roof which was half the price of other guys we got all of the moss off of your roof and you guys and also cleaned out your gutters as well as I recommend that you change out your gutters because they were completely rusted through, I apologize for your experience but I am not a miracle worker , what you are seeing as dirty is just your really bad rust on the bottom of your gutter but the downspout and everything are draining from what we did, I am very disappointed that you felt like you needed to leave this review."

We asked James to devise a way to discourage gulls from nesting on our roof. He came up with a plan, implemented it without delay, and returned to make sure it was working; he responded quickly, was available when needed, was professional and efficient, and came up with thorough and appropriate barriers that encouraged stubborn birds to move on. We look forward to his returning this fall to deal with our rain gutters.

I hired James to install new rain gutters on my home at the beginning of May. He promised to start the job the following week and have it finished in a day or 2. He asked for an unusually large down payment, which I provided, and he started the job by putting up a few downspouts. Then he disappeared. Over the course of the next 6 weeks, he made multiple commitments to show up on X day and finish the job, failed to meet those commitments, and, most of the time, did not even contact me to let me know that he would not be showing up to work on the project as promised--no show, no text, no call over and over. By far the worst experience I have had with a contractor--just an incredible lack of consideration for our time. EIGHTEEN times he committed to finishing the job and did not. The job is still not complete today, July 21st, 3 months after I hired him. My husband and I finally found the time today (7/30) to test the gutters that James installed for leaks, something he promised my husband he would do last month, and again, no show, no communication. The upshot is that every joint and every end cap leaks, some a lot, especially right by our front door. About a foot of gutter guard is missing. James is not telling the truth in his response. I will take it point by point. He said, **Wow Susannah I am sorry that you feel this way about the job** as if he is surprised by my review. I have countless texts where he is apologizing for his terrible service. He said, **these things take time not just one day in and out** If that is the case, why did he say it would be a day or two? If my roof paper is corroded (which I doubt) this is the first I am hearing about it. The job is neither **good** nor **completed.** We are going to have to hire someone else to fix the leaks mentioned above. We have lots of photo evidence of this.

"Wow Susannah I am sorry that you feel this way about the job, I installed 300 feet of gutter and spouts and leaf guards for you and these things take time not just one day in and out, you are rafter tails and your roofing was corroded that it made the installation harder as well as me having to put in flashing for free because your roofing paper was corroded in so many different areas, I do not feel that this is fair for you to come on here and put down someone who did nothing but try to help you out price-wise and just do a good job in general for you, the job is completed as well, all gutters are up and functioning, all spouts are up as."

James is very professional and knowledgeable. He arrived on time, assessed the job, gave a estimate that was fair and honest for the work that needed to be done which included repairing existing gutters as well as custom fitting and installing new ones. He is a skilled craftsman and custom made a cover for the fireplace chimney as well as the parts that were needed. He also custom made covers for the vents on the roof to prevent leaves from falling into them. he's a wonderful communicator and kept me informed on all aspects of the project.
