Kitchen - Remodel
I contacted PDX Restoration group in April of 2021 and had to fire them as my contractor in November 2021. During that time, communication was poor, I was never given solid quotes for any services other than cabinets (which they seem weirdly attached to one company for). They double dipped by hiring one guy as a designer and as an engineer (who did a great job to be fair), but never told us, so we didn't spend the appropriate amount of time discussing the project with him. There was an entire month where I heard nothing from the company even after sending emails and asking for follow ups to questions on the project. The package I paid for included a timeline gantt chart, and I believe I was only shown it once. Probably for the best considering no work was ever actually started. Additionally the "rough" quotes that Cris provided increased multiple times throughout the project taking it outside of our budget. Would not have hired them in the first place if they had given accurate quotes. The office staff are all very nice. All of my complaints revolve around Cris' management of the company.

Major Renovation Multiple Room Service
Hiring PDX Restoration Group was the best decision we could have made when we needed to do some updating to the home we bought in August. Very quick and efficient with quotes, but also very flexible when the job changed a couple times during the project. We ended up using them to refinish old hardwoods throughout our house as well as fresh interior paint. Everyone who worked on our home was professional, and just as importantly, respectful of Covid-related precautions and people working from home. Once we're ready for the next phase of our remodel, Cris and his team will most definitely be my first call. Highly recommended!

Cris Is a pro,and very likable guy he go's over and above what he was hied to do and dose not charged you for it I would recommend you check him out before you hied anyone else, my Dog had to be put down , Cris donated $50.00 off my bill to help, how many people do that, I'am proud to call Cris a true friend. We do our best to communicate clearly with each potential client, and so here is a recap of what happened and what we communicated to you already via email: - We sent a written quote listing out a clear scope of work - The quote was not accepted and no contract was signed - No work was started - You requested a 30% discount off of the quote, which is not possible - Additional charges in the most recent quote reflected building conditions discovered upon visiting your home As we explained in the email to you, we cannot legally build the fence where the old one is located right now due to building code violations. It is practically on top of the gas meter, and moving the location of the fence increases the linear footage and it increases the required material needed, which will increase the cost. We wish you best of luck with your project, and respectfully retrieve our proposal to do this job."

Contractor was totally unprepared to do my fence post replacement. I requested to have the original post and cement removed and a new post installed with fresh cement poured around the new post. Basically exactly what was initially there. The initial workman did not have to proper tools to do the job and attempted to do a sub par job with the tools he had. I was not comfortable with the quality of work he was doing and requested he stop until his foreman could assess the situation. To get the post was replaced I had to supply several of my own tools and supervise every step to insure it was done properly. Not what I expected from a professional. They were very nice and tried to please me as best they could during the two days it took to complete the project.

These guys are very hard workers and put a lot of extra effort into fixing my shed. They wanted to make sure I was 100% satisfied before they left. They even volunteered to take some things to the dump for me at no charge! They were awesome!

The guy never showed up (except for the estimate) twice! He came over and gave his estimate to paint the south side of the exterior house and looked at our kitchen and den we want to have remodeled. He gave a day and time he would be here to paint first and never showed up. I called him and he apologized and set us up for the next week and guess what...he didn't show up again. Not sure what the deal is and not going to try again to find out. He spent 40min with us looking at all the projects and we agreed to have the house painted first and he seemed ok with it. Now three weeks later I still haven't had my house painted thinking it was going to be done by him. He could have called to let me know he couldn't make it but I really think he is very poor at scheduling and I paid the price for that. I think I dodged a bullet now.
