"This is not true. I told the client over the phone the mold test is contingent on how many air samples are needed (which drives the cost of the project). Upon inspection, I said $600. The client said ok. After receiving spore counts that were above the detection limit, the large amounts of visible mold, a 2nd site visit should be performed to use a boroscope into the wall cavity to trying and find the leak, she agreed. Additionally, I took my time out to call the USDA for rural funding for homeowners who had a disaster. No charge there. Normally 2 site visits are over $1,000.00. She balked at my $800 invoice, so I dropped it to $700 for her which at this point I am breaking even, especially when I wrote the 41-page report and issued it to her. Consultants, for private homeowner type work, make sure all is in writing, especially the addendums."
