Installed wrong then charged to repair.

As it's not a normal practice to charge our customers for a repair if the unit is still under warranty, as such, our manager would like to speak with you about the charge for the repair. PMI Air Conditioning failed to properly install a new YORK Heat and A/C unit. It took approximately five appointments over 30 days to constantly correct mistakes that they overlook during installation. As a consequence, they had to replace parts twice, and almost reinstalled all over again. I have complained to PMI about unit generating humidity in my home for the 2 months right after installation. In spite of the installation corrections, the problem is still NOT fixed and persist. First time I let know Service Manager S. Mendez about this issue he sent tech #1 to change the expansion valve as was not working in removing humidity properly. Tech# 1 came and replaced the expansion valve and assured me I should not have humidity issues anymore. Unfortunately, the Unit still was generating humidity. So, I contacted Mendez again. He came to my house when absolutely everything was freezing inside, objects, furniture, walls, etc and at the same time, the humidity felt very strong. He said to me, he did not feel anything and maybe I have a leak or it was the insulation of my house. I told him I did not have any leak and insulation in my house is perfect as I never had this issue before with my 10-year old A/C unit. At the same time, he suggested buying a new expensive air exchanger that they were starting to sell at the moment to take care of the problem. He sent a tech again to check on their unit and while being here he noticed also the thermostat was not working properly. After, a couple of days technician #2 showed up whom right after stepping into my house told me he acknowledged moisture in the air. After inspecting the unit he apologized to me and confirmed the expansion valve was broken and needed to order the part again and come back and install it along with other adjustments he needed to take care of as cleaning the copper line and adjust Freon as it was high according to him. Tech #1 and Tech#2 showed up one more time. Again, assured me I would not have humidity issue again and tech #2 asked me to follow up with him within the next days. I did follow up with him to let him know that I did not know why the unit is STILL not performing as it should? At night is even worst as I am not able to sleep due to condensation this machine generates. He replied to me in a hostile tone that he did not know? And he recommended a second opinion from another company. Really? I called Service Manager to follow up, he came to my house and said to me one more time he did not feel anything wrong without inspecting anything in the handler or in the unit outside. He checked the thermostat and told me it was the thermostat that was not reading correctly. He asked tech #2 to replace it but tech #2 forgot about it. So, Mendez changed it for a new one and set it up in a way that is constantly running and freezing up so high that I have to rise temp at 79. At night is extremely humid and hot and if I lower the temp at 75 it freezes up so much and shuts off and humidity increase even more. This is really very frustrating along all the stress this company is causing me with their nonstop mistakes. I contacted one more time Service manager Mendez and let him know the unit is freezing up during the afternoon with moist and late at night shuts off and condensation occurs is when it feels the worst. Very early in the morning, I could see my footprints on the floor. So, he replied to me that this is normal and what I can do is to BUY one of the new air exchangers they sell to correct the problem. I told him I was not going to do that because I already paid almost $4,000 for a brand new A/C unit with not only factory warranty but PMI warranty as well where they promised a return in the event their A/C unit fails to work. He got very upset, screamed at me and hanged up the phone. No, follow up from PMI as of today. They will not stand behind their product once you have an issue with it.

We installed this system with a 10 year labor and 10 year parts warranty and we even upgraded you to a 3 year maintenance agreement. We offer to have a manufacture rep come out and inspect the system and you declined. We offer to allow the city inspector come out and inspect our installation and again you declined. In the spirit of providing good customer service we will remove and provided you with a full refund.
