Deck or Porch Repair
Mr. Powell was very polite, neet, and respectful throughout his job. He was very punctual and really knows how to do the job right. I am very pleased with his work and will gladly recommend him to anyone. He finished the job in a timely manner as he told me. He used good materials (straight beams and boards) & #1 plywood. I will be calling him again.

Deck or Porch Repair
I hired David to restore my deck on 6/17/20, it is 8/6/20, it is still not completed, everytime I talk to him he always has an excuse as to why he can not get here, the last time he was here was approximately 3 weeks ago, this was suppose to be a one day job, David tried to repair my stairs because they were out of level, now it is worse and the look unsightly, also the product on my deck is bubbling up.

David left the job uncompleted. He said he wanted more money before finishing the job. He now has to hire someone else to finish the work. David is very hard to deal with. He starts the work and then wants more money after starting the job and then complains about the contract and he doesnt communicate well around whats going on and he has lots of days where he was a no call no show. He gets people from the streets as hired hands. Every time he came he was someone different. David was very unprofessional and would argue with his hired help. One time during this 2 months he had hired a worker and they came in my house and tried to assault my daughter and I had to call the police. He even showed up at 3pm one day and was working until 12 at night cutting boards and hammering. I had to speak with him and explain how this wasnt professional. The original bid was for $6000. I gave him $1500 for supplies and $3500 in his pocket at the start and the remainder was to be paid when he completed the work. He wanted the rest of the money after 2 months of him not completing the work he committed to. All of this money was from a claim I had filed through my insurance and all he was supposed to do was repair it. I hope no one gets burned by him.
Response from David Powells Handymans Services
"That's totally wrong! The total bid was nowhere near $6000 dollars like he stated! I got the contract after it was awarded to a company that put in abid, that was not for watt the customer wanted! But watt the insurance adjuster wanted! They game me $1500 dollars to demo out the old cabinets and sink ! the flooring down to the floor joist, and replace all the installation under the trailer! And I had to buy the plywood for a floor, the insulation for under the trailer! 2 lower cabinets, and 1 of wasn't even in the bid of $1500 dollars for materials! And the owner wanted a floating floor and not the linoleum that was in the original bid! Plus."

I hired This professional, he was very high spirited, but I liked what he said and he did apologize as well. He came to my home, and we discussed my project and he wrote a formal bid, and I liked the pricing, and they did help me move heavy furnishings, but I paid him for that. He brought a helper when he came to do the work. I thought his helper was good, he had a license. The contractor began talking down to his helper that he had bring him and leave sitting outside my home for hours. Several time the contractor left the job site and didn't return for long periods of time. The helper removed the bricks where the new windows would be installed while the contractor started on the archway for me. I took pictures and we agreed it didn't look quite right. In addition, he brought on another person to do the Drywall portion of my project which was part of our contract. The contract notation by my contractor states "work to be completed by December 3rd" but then he quit altogether, he stated he was sick, and couldn't come back, I was always ready to go with this project and now it is a mess. He started offering to do other parts of the job that required permits that I don't know if he had licensing for them. He began texting me over the course of the next two weeks. I didn't like the Arch and he agreed it did not look right but then wanted to charge more money to make it right. This has been a complete nightmare. My family is in town and nothing is completed. I have literally cried over this ordeal. The communications from this professional have made me very uncomfortable. This Professional has posed threats because he feels I should pay for the entire job as he is willing to come back to my home, but after all of the threats and the names he has called me, screaming at me, hanging up on me, threating me, I am afraid for him to come back to my home. The contract said December 3rd, today is the 22nd.
Response from David Powells Handymans Services
"She wanted not to go by the contract! she refused to pay me when I got finished on the stage that wss stated in our contract! she kept wanting to change things, and didn't want to pay for the rework! And then she wanted me to take 8 switches and 4 receptacles out of the wall pull them back up through the wall, and wrap them up in the attic, because the electrician wasn't going to make it to her house until later on that day! And I told her that I would, but when I tried to give her a price on doing that, she blew a fuse, and she said that she had already told the electrician that I would do it for free! That's when I told her that she had no"
