P & W Builders

After our house was destroyed in the Washington tornado we were at a loss as to what to do or how to get started rebuilding. I talked with a friend at work who recommended we contact P&W Builders. It was the best choice we ever made. I called them on Monday and they met me out at the house on Tuesday to figure out what we needed. Dave Whitehurst and the rest of the guys at P&W were terrific. They walked us through the design process and listened to what we wanted. I am sure they were tired of all the times I changed something, but they were always willing to do whatever I asked. P&W had around 35 houses they were building while ours was under construction. No matter how busy they were, we were always treated like a priority. There was always someone there to answer our questions or help us pick out our doors, cabinets, countertops, flooring, etc This is the third house we built and after our experience I would never use anyone else if we have to do this again.

P and W Builders built our new home in 2014. They worked with us to design and build the exact home that we wanted. We were very pleased with the quality of materials and workmanship. We have recommended them to others in the market for a reputable builder in this area.

I've build a couple of houses before this project. P & W Builders used real solid wood and the house was built stronger than I've ever seen.

Before hiring this company that is run by David Whitehurst, make sure you get everything in writing and have your Lawyer check everything in the contract before you hire them. They did not build my house to local codes in Pekin, they admitted in court that there is missing anchors in the foundation, plus if you come by my house you can see the roof is not built right, it is not level, they said that wood roofs are like that. I would not have them build me a doghouse or anything else. I went with P&W because they used to build a good house till the father retired and Dave Whitehurst became President of the company. If anyone wants to see how disappointed I am in this, what I call a unsafe house, please come see the house. Do not trust P&W , get a lawyer to write the contract. They have been sued 3 times since 2013, one judgement was for over $300,000.00 in Lewiston County.
