Poor quality of work. Steps are not square, drain slopes wrong way, excess slag, and did not stick to original payment terms.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT HIRE OFA AND HIS COMPANY, PACIFIC CONCRETE!!! I read the reviews and while most of them were **good** there was one that said, do not hire. I should have listened. One of my BIGGEST REGRETS ever! The work we had done (take out wood deck, pour concrete patio, stairs, and walkway) was a NIGHTMARE! I cannot even express how awful the whole thing looks. Boot prints, grinding marks, sloped, uneven steps, crooked expansion lines, the list goes on and on. AND to top it off, we already have a crack in it! It has been less than a month. He also poured the concrete too high (over the form) and we could not open out the shed. My husband had to fix that himself. Ofa is also very unprofessional. Does not arrive when he says he will and leaves without letting you know or finishing the days work. Just LEAVES! Goes on vacation for a long weekend! I cannot believe Home Advisor still has them on their website. It was how I found him and am so upset and heartbroken that we did not get the patio that we had been saving up and dreaming about. So whatever you do, whatever reviews you read, please do yourself a favor and save yourself the stress and heartache, and DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

Ofa and his Pacific Concrete crew recently did a stamped concrete patio for us. I requested a bid and he provided one quickly , we accepted his bid and he began immediately. From tearing down my old wooden deck to the final sealing of the stamped concrete, he kept us informed of the work process. I highly recommend Ofa and his company Pacific Concrete to anyone that needs concrete work!

DO NOT HIRE OFA FISI OR HIS COMPANY, PACIFIC CONCRETE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO DUPLICATE OUR EXPERIENCE. BUYER BEWARE! We read all the posts on here before we hired this so-called concrete contractor. The worst reviews do not come close to this guys work and his crew of 2. All 20 yards of their work (that he poured in one day against all common sense) has to be jackhammered out and redone due to extremely unprofessional work. A classic case of **take the money and run** scenario. Should have seen it coming. Hurried through the formwork, did not listen to our concerns of protecting our house, foundation, or our expensive blockwork, which were communicated before being hired, and a few times prior to the pour, including the day of. He was still doing formwork (hurriedly and incorrectly) as the truck was sitting there with hardening concrete. What could have gone wrong, did go wrong. Patio grades to the house, forms blew out, gaps in forms, stamping mismatches and misaligned, uneven color, areas of incorrectly worked areas, 3 boot prints, concrete slop EVERYWHERE! Yes, 3 boot prints. 7 large cracks on stairs, walkways, and main patio so far after two weeks, stairs not to code. Have a correction notice from the county because the risers are all completely different. That is when he walked away. No communication. Does not show up when he scheduled the time. Borrowed our tools. Had a one 2 foot level between them. Sloppy messes everywhere. Including the finished product. Waited too long to take off the forms and took hammer chunks out of the edges of the finished slab! Even the steel was lifted haphazardly by hand instead of blocks like his scope of work outlined. Most steel is probably still on the ground as I could not watch the pour any longer. But do have video/pics. The half- baked fixes made everything worse. How does that even happen? Wanted large sums of money upfront, and just before the pour or threatened to delay two weeks against our protests. Should have fired him on the spot. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY AND BANGING OUT THE JOB AS FAST AS POSSIBLE TO MAXIMIZE PROFITS AT THE EXPENSE OF EVERYTHING HE WAS HIRED FOR. Quality is non-existent.He said he did a great job, and he was proud of the work. I guess that says it all, as the work speaks for itself. No less than 6 contractors have looked at it since and apologized to US for the unprofessional results. Some walked away shaking their heads. My wife and I could have done a better job with zero experience in concrete. The day of the pour 5-6 others came half an hour after the truck was here. Not enough for 20 yards, with seemingly little or no direction or coordinated efforts. The edging is lackluster or missing entirely. Sharp edges, squish lines, sagging stairs, embedded chunks, palm prints. It goes on and on. I had to point out areas that needed lines in the stamping while they were sitting around smoking and laughing at the end of the job while the pour was getting hard. Unbelievable. We offered to settle with him and he ignored us, many times. When I was actually able to get him on the phone, we encouraged him to come back to fix his mess of a job, repair, and or replace. His two days doing it created more problems than they solved. He sprayed a concrete remover on our new top caps that ate into the blocks with the overspray pooling onto the new concrete that removed the color. Then the correction notice came for the stairs, and he disappeared. Now we will move on his bond, offer our feedback where we can, and pursue him for damages for his unprofessional work, the cost of taking it all out, and a re-pour of everything he touched. That is our honest and sad experience. Do what you will with the information.

Biggest problem with building anything in Algona is water drainage. My finished patio is beautiful and an engineering marvel for drainage.

Ofa and his crew are amazing. Our job went from a 10x10 patio to two patios and a sidewalk and the finished job is just beautiful. Hard working and a real pleasure to deal with. Thank you, Ofa.

The concrete work was fairly good, just a couple low spots that form puddles. The cleanup left a lot of rocks and concrete to remove before mowing the grass.

Great team of guys. They called me the same day that I located them through HomeAdvisor, and came over the next day to give me a competitive quote on the project. Completed the cement laying in two days, and took no short cuts. My neighbors saw their work and hired them on the spot for a similar job.

Excellent professional service. On time everyday and kept me informed about what was happening. The carport pad and extension to my driveway look great. This was a good experience after a very bad one last year. Ofa and his crew are very nice, respectful people.

Good work for the cost. New driveway did not have adequate slope for drainage, but looks good. Ofa raised the water meters to match the new driveway. Ofa would not take my checks, and preferred cash, minor inconvenience. Would hire him again, but will micromanage more.

Let me first state that Ofa and his crew seemed like nice people. However, our concrete patio project experienced multiple problems. For example: poor edging was done, a form stake was left in the concrete, the patio is not sufficiently sloped for drainage, and we had multiple work cancellations. The icing on the cake was the installation of a brick bull-nose edge. We asked for a brick bull-nose edge to match a patio on the other side of the house. Forming was done for a four inch brick insert. Ofa shows up with six inch bricks, which would create a two inch overhang. I asked if the brick was going to be cut to match the insert depth but the response was, "I didn't bring the right saw so I'll have to come back." Since my wife and I had already experienced three cancellations and a long delay trying to get the patio finished, we decided to have the six inch brick installed. Accepting full responsibility for that decision, we definitely regret it. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I expect a professional contractor to know the depth of the bull-nose ledge because they formed it and poured it. I think the crew was trying to rush to get the job done and didn't care to do the detail work. To add icing on top of the icing, they installed the brick bull-nose in the rain. To protect the grout/mortar, they placed a tarp over the ledge. One of the crew left a soaking wet sponge under the tarp, which drained over one of the bricks causing grout/mortar to sluff out of the bricks. My wife and I obviously could not see the sponge since it was covered by the tarp. We are now left with having to repair/re-grout the spot ourselves. Additionally, a small part of the concrete patio was placed directly against our wood siding. The portion in question has some cover from the roof eave but rain doesn't always come straight down. If that concrete ever gets wet its going to rot the siding. A simple fix would have been to use a cheap piece of plastic in between or god-forbid, an expansion joint filler. I am really curious about the project reviews indicating that the crew "paid attention to detail" because we experienced none of that professionalism.

Not happy with his work and customer service. Had Ofa do a walk way on the side of my house.1st the form the put down was not square in some areas and it looks very unprofessional workmanship. Plus the antique release color we selected looks nice in the front of the house but towards the back you can hardly see it. Called Ofa to come and take a look at it to see what can be done to fix it. He told me he would stop by the following week the week came and went now he doesn't answer my calls. Rings a few times then goes to voice mail. Not happy with him will have to hire someone else to fix his work. I hope he does't do this to someone else. Use caution if you hire him not sure what you will get.

Very happy with the job Ofa and his guys at Pacific Concrete did. He came out promptly and discussed our needs and was very helpful with ideas. He was working several jobs at the time but was able to get started and complete our job in about 10 days which was fine as we were not in a big hurry. Ofa installed a stamped, colored an sealed patio for us. We had a little problem with rain on the sealer prior to it being completely dry which created a little issue. Ofa came out promptly and took care of it and we're very happy with the finished product. I would not hesitate to recommend Ofa and his crew and will definately contact him with any future needs we have.
