I needed to flush my Tankless Water Heater even though the previous owner of the home did not install isolation valves. I understood the risk in doing this as it might cause leaking and permanent internal damage to the water heater. I was having water pressure issues because of built up sediment in my aerators from my water heater. I have been using the same plumber for over 9 years, along with my family, co-workers, and friends, however due to several integrity issues that have come up recently, it was time for a change. I contacted several local plumbers in the HB area and decided to go with Pacific Standard, even though there were not many reviews on the business and the business was still fairly new. Best decision ever! First off, Curtis (the owner) was prompt in getting back to me after I requested quotes from several plumbers. He was courteous, informative, patient, knowledgeable, transparent and just really nice (hard to find in this industry). Curtis is a very experienced plumber. He is the owner and works with Jeff, his master plumber. This is the reason I decided to go with Pacific Standard and not with one of the big companies where they have huge overhead resulting in the customer paying a lot more than a local experienced family owned business like Curtis's. I explained the situation and he requested a few photos of my tankless WH. I sent him the photos and he promptly emailed me his quote. His quote was discounted 10% for being a new customer. I also purchased a $150 for $75 voucher on Yelp to receive $150 worth of services for $75. I scheduled the service for a couple days after I received the quote. Jeff, who is a master plumber showed up. Jeff has over 30 years in the business and owned his own plumbing business in LA. He said he moved down to OC and sold his business and now works with Curtis. From meeting Jeff, again, he was so humble, nice, courteous, knowledgeable and was early for the appointment (rare with contractors). He explained exactly what the process would be to flush the water heater. He did inform me of the risk of the water heater components getting permanently damaged where I would have to replace the heater if this occurred with the unit had not been flushed in years. I told him I understood and I agreed to do the flush. I observed him flushing the unit. During this time, he explained the process. When completed, the unit did not leak, so it was successful. Jeff then did a full home inspection of my plumbing in my home. I asked him about water pressure in my Moen bathroom sinks. He said there should have been a tool to unscrew the aerator that came with the sink. I told him I didn't have it. He said to call Moen (lifetime warranty), send them a photo of your faucet and ask them to send you a new one. I called the next day and success, they are sending me out the tool. This is an example of a plumber who cares for the needs of their customers. Jeff did not rush at all. He did a great job and was so personable making me feel comfortable around him. It has been a week now and NO WATER PRESSURE ISSUES or SEDIMENT BUILD UP. Because of this positive experience with both Curtis and Jeff with Pacific Standard Plumbing, they are now my primary plumber. I will be referring them to my co-workers, friends and family. Also all of my neighbors are elderly in my community, so they ask me for referrals for contractors when they are in need. For all your plumbing needs in the HB and Orange County with very good pricing, call Pacific Standard. Thank you Curtis and Jeff.
