Out-of-State Moving Service
The night before they were to arrive at my new home, I was told I could no longer use my credit card for the final payment and I had to supply a cashiers check. Would not have been a big issue if I was given more notice as I do not have a physical bank within 3 or 4 hours of my new home. Movers were respectful and courteous with my furniture and moving around my children while packing the old house and setting up the rooms in the new house. Issues that stand out include: an entire drawer of cookware was not packed. Wedding gifts were lost in transit, they would not (not allowed) help set up/mount the TVs. I was required to pay for 2 of their largest moving trucks and after looking at how everything was packed...it could have fit into one truck. In regard to the missing items, due to the size of my house, it was going to cost an extra $100k to insure my belongings. A fee I was not prepared to fund and assumed was unnecessary since the move was a 24hour turnaround from packing to unpacking. Monetarily it was not worth the extra $$, because the lost items can be replaced - however if you are looking at this company, know that even with the shortest turnaround time - some of your items may still be missing when you go through the boxes. In regard to their worth in comparison to packing and moving yourself - it was completely hands off for me, and I was able to multitask on our final day which made everything run so much smoother. The movers listened to my concerns with protecting fragile items and worked relatively quickly.

Working with Palm Beach Movers was a total nightmare. Everything that could have gone wrong did. Moving day was understaffed. They did not have enough people or supplies to do the job. I had marked my belongings for two deliveries: the first to include only the bare necessities and the second to include everything else. Items that were marked for initial delivery were thrown into unmarked boxes and could not be identified for that initial delivery, which had to be rescheduled and twice because they could not figure out what to bring. When I insisted they deliver all of my property, the movers said they would not unload the trucks unless additional funds were wired to the business. Once my property was finally brought inside, much of it was damaged or irreparably broken, unable to be repaired. Three out of seven boxes of my grandmother and china, labeled as FRAGILE on all sides of every box, had obviously been dropped, shattered from the bottom up. In addition, my china cabinet, glass drafting table, and multiple lamps, various pieces of furniture, sentimental items and decorative assets were smashed, ripped, banged, scratched or crushed. Many items were tossed into boxes with no paper or padding whatsoever (I had paid for premium packing and unpacking -- the unpacking never happened). Email requests for the insurance claim form/process have yet to be responded to, even though I paid for full insurance coverage. The lack of response is not surprising, as that was par for the course throughout the entire process. I do not recommend Palm Beach Movers to anyone looking for an efficient, fair, complete and professional move.

Movers were awesome !!! Did a great job. Only issue I had was with Finance dept who wouldn't accept the bank check due to a typo in their name. Since we were at the new location, I couldn't just drive to the bank and have them fix it. Finally figured out a way to wire them the $, but it was a colossal issue for them to take my $. If it was may business I would make it as easy as possible for someone to pay me ! This was the only complaint I had in an otherwise great move.

I paid a deposit for Palm Beach Movers to move me from Birmingham to Atlanta. Five days prior to the scheduled move I called the office number to try to get an estimate of time of day for the move. No answer. I tried every day for the next two days - still no answer. Nor did I receive any other communication from them. I sent an email directing them to cancel my contract, that I had contracted with another company. Finally got a response to my email. Guy said he was the manager, apologized, blamed a bad employee that he said he had to let go. Said he'd send me a refund. Still waiting for that refund!

The movers were rather nice. I hired them to pack up two rooms and move a total of three. It took a lot longer than estimated, but the real problem was they broke my $2000+ tv (for which I was able to provide them with an original receipt). I have been waiting for weeks to hear how/if they are going to do anything to reimburse (which the mover promised they would), but I am fastly loosing hope; emails are just not being retuned at all. Other items were scratched and nicked too. Of the three moving companies I have used, they are far and away the worst. If you don t see this post edited at some point, that means they never got back to me and screwed me on the tv.

Horrible on all accounts. - The work quality (specifically the packing, moving, and unloading of the truck) was sub par for what I paid. There was significant damage to my things, and there has been no offer made to reimburse me for my expenses to repair them - They did a great job selling me their product; the delivery, not so much. The movers were rude, showed up late every day (and not by just a few minutes- rather by 6 hours or more). - Horrible value for what I paid ($8,000 for significant damage to my possessions, stolen items, and aggravation all around) There has been no communication from them in terms of when, or if, I'm going to be getting any sort of settlement, despite having left voice messages daily (sometimes multiple times in one day). Please do NOT recommend them any more! If they scammed me, guaranteed they'll scam others!

We were so happy with our movers, Michael Morgan and Edward. They did a great job! They packed everything so carefully that not even one item was broken. Also, they were very prompt, personable and courteous. We would highly recommend them.

Worst company I have dealt with in 25 years. When it came to the day of the move they were 8 1/2 late. Then they were very slow in loading despite my help. Corporate office gave excuses, hung up on me and then did not answer the phone. Delivery was a day late. The driver is told to always claim traffic is the problem. Second person at delivery was teenager who needed a 20 minute break after working for 40 minutes. Teenager almost dropped antique chest because the driver would not help him. I had to help him. We helped unload to keep the delivery of 47 items to less than 4 hours. Would not use them again if they were free.

The mover himself was very nice and friendly overall he had to do the work mostly by himself in the very hot weather. When it came to the day of moving me in my house he was all alone the help did not show up they claimed there car broke down and the company didn't send anyone until Mike was pretty much done it was over 100 degrees I felt sorry for him. My son in law helped him and then another guy showed up and worked for 1/2 hr. The work was done. Very unprofessional. He shouldn't have gotten paid. Thanks my opinion.

We had a very small load with no packing (only protecting) -- 1 small dresser; 6 medium boxes and a few loose odd-shaped items. Cost was reasonable had they done anything they promised. Pickup was scheduled to be on a Friday with 24-48 hours notice. The mover & truck showed up the the driveway two days early -- on Wednesday with no call to notify us. When the driver called to have us let him in, he was totally unaware that he was suppose to pick up on Friday. We had to scramble to get someone over to let him in (EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT for the poor neighbor)! Our things were added onto the end of a single larger (but yet small load) to the same town. SImple -- you would think. Delivery (confirmed by their office) was to be on Friday -- Saturday at the latest again with advanced notice. We had no delivery on Friday; called the drivers phone number & the office number with no answer on either no ability to leave a message. Saturday, I call again mid-day because we had not gotten a call or delivery. Sunday morning at 7:30am, I get a call from A DIFFERENT driver saying hed be at our house to deliver in 1.75 hours. He explained that the guy who picked up our order had to go back home and so he took over the load. He knows nothing about what is in the truck nor does he realize there are two different delivery stops both in the same city. We tell him that it is not convenient because we had to leave for church. Ultimately, we allowed him to come quickly offload our goods (yes, we were very late to church). The gentleman came alone and my husband and I helped him move the items into the house. He was very polite but clueless about what was going on. After church we came home to look through our things and noticed that there was an item missing. I called the driver to ask if he still had it and he said he did. I asked if he was still in the area and could he drop it by. He said yes it is in the back of the truck and no he couldnt deliver it because he was 3-4 hours away. I asked why he didnt just bring it back to the house when he realized it. He explained he didnt know if it was ours or not. Mind you, by this time he has unloaded the entire truck except for this one small item. He said he would call the office in the morning (Monday) to see how they can get the item to us. I have called several times to speak to someone at the company - have left messages with no return call. I finally spoke to a gentleman who said he would call me back by 5pm with the details of how I will be receiving the missing item. He, in fact, did follow through with the call stating that the item will be shipped tomorrow. I was given the FedEx tracking number the next day. Fingers crossed Ill get the item. I do have to say that the items, though delivered late, were in very good condition - no damage that we could see, and the delivery driver was very polite, courteous, pleasant. The ONLY issue for me was the lack of communication across the board - internally and with me, the customer. Very frustrating!!!

I would give negative numbers if I could. Two guys showed to pack 3 BR house with full cellar (2800 sq ft). One guy had to leave end of day per his contract with PBM. That caused a rush to pack all furniture in one day. They did not use straps on second floor move of furniture - dropped dresser down stairs damaging tile, ceiling overhang and front door - right before closing causing me to pay new buyer a flat fee based on local quotes at closing. Dresser a loss. When arrival at destination no strap/bars used to hold belonging in place on truck, last few boxes literally thrown in back. Boxes marked fragile obviously damaged, multiple scratches/wood damage on most furniture - basically a disaster. Mantra from PBM is .60/lb to fix/replace. So my ~100lb dresser costing around $800 would yield $60 to replace/fix broken leg and shattered sides/top. I will see lawyer for breach of contract since all the media they post indicates professional move, bonded and insured. I have been moved previously be real professionals - these guys are clowns. Do not use them or trust their marketing. I will likely not recoup the $1000 repair/replacement costs I will incur from these fools. They never mentioned the $0.60/lb in their discussions. Their shady admin called and tried to get me to settle for a few hundred - before the load arrived. Then load arrived late due to driver DOT issue encountered on route.
Response from Palm Beach Movers
"Hello Stephen, I highly regret we did not live up to our expectations here. We did indeed address damage to your home immediately upon a dresser issue on pickup, you were pleased with our discussion so I am confused? and the .60 cents per pound insurance was explained to you. You were even offered full value protection for 100% replacement value during the sales call for your move and 3 days prior to your move, as indicated in our system notes. Mr. Stone we actually were not late as well, you had a delivery spread of the 18th to the 21st. The fact is we were not late Mr. Stone. We contractually have till the 21st. We were actually early!! You will be sent over a claim form for the .60 cents per pound option you selected. Again Mr. Stone I would like to emphasize the fact, you were told about full value protection and the difference between your protection options, every single one of our customers hears about that during your reservation stage, then following during the Q@A stage. Please submit your form. This is the contract option you selected, we have several scratches on dressers that will be repaired, if you simply fill out your form. I understand your frustration Mr. Stone, but this review is inaccurate and unfair. I look forward to resolving your issues, but to say this was a disaster is not accurate. -Ben"
