Bathroom - Remodel
Yes, I recommend this pro
After completion of our bathroom remodel, we now literally give tours to our friends and neighbors. It's spacious and much safer with the ADA layout and new shower concept. Everybody finds the bright new look to be an investment and an enhancement. It adds value but is safer and that's most important. I next plan for my deck to be torn down and rebuilt and will again use Palmetto Renovations only. I have projects and they have expertise.

Kitchen - Remodel
I always like to start with a positive and will say that I do love my new kitchen, and the work performed by most of the Palmetto technicians was outstanding. BUT from my personal experience with Palmetto Renovation of Columbia and/or Lexington, I shout DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. In June of 2023, I contracted Palmetto Renovation of Columbia to renovate my outdated kitchen. During the presentation, I collaborated with them to build my dream kitchen. In October, I started feeling a twinge of regret, but thought it most be nerves as this is an expensive project. Prior to my rendering presentation, I visited another company that does only cabinets. They provided a quote. I took it to Palmetto during my rendering presentation with the Design team. They told me I could get my cabinets through them, and "Yeah, we can come close to that price." I returned a couple of weeks later to sign the finishing contract to purchase the cabinets, I was met by the Finishing team, who didn't know what I was talking about as far as cabinet pricing. In other words, the cabinets cost more. Additionally, I was given the option of purchasing my own finishes or using Palmetto as a one-stop shop. After seeing the rendering, I asked them to purchase some of the items from their vendor. Imagine my surprise when a Lowes Home Improvement truck arrived with my purchases, I wonder what I would have saved had I used my own Lowes card with the additional 5% discount. I was told that I needed the transition strips to match my current floors; however, Palmetto couldn't find a good color match so they would have to have someone stain them for $500. I purchased three strips, bought the correct stain, and stained them myself for $88. At the start of the reno, I had three columns that we thought may be load bearing. During the rendering presentation, I was told that if the columns weren't load bearing, they could be removed as part of the demo. All the renderings provided to me were of the columns removed. On demo day, I had to pay for the columns to be removed. Although Palmetto discounted the price, it was still hefty. I went back to them with what was shown to me in the rendering and what was said at our meetings. They pointed out what was written in the contract. I should have been more careful in reviewing the contract. - Read Palmetto's "Our Process Page." Here's what it reads in part: "...That is why we always say that you'll get exactly what you see in your Design rendering and fulfillment meeting... We hope to create the easiest and most rewarding process for you." Since Palmetto was already installing the island and electrical work for the dishwashing and garbage disposal, I asked how much it would cost to install an outlet in the island. $500 was quoted. I called a family member who is a certified electrician. He said the going rate for that type of outlet is $150. I end this review with DON'T USE PALMETTO.

We appreciate the time Alex & Alani have shown with our Master Bath project While I knew it needed done and the basics of what I wanted, Alex and Alani were extremely helpful in walking through the many options available to me during the design consult. For this reason we have decided to go with your company for our remodel. There are many companies available and I have received other quotes but your design was ultimately better than the others. Alex and Alani heard me and that's invaluable!

We had a bathroom shower to update, and weren't sure where to start. We contacted several companies, but Palmetto Renovations, and in specific Alex Allen helped navigate us through the process.

I do not normally like to bash a company but this one deserves a bad review. I would hate to see someone else dealing with this person/company. The entire process in dealing with Matt ***** the ( President of Palmetto Renovations of Columbia) was a total joke! He is the ultimate BS er! We wrote our first check for our master bath remodels in May 2021. The second and third checks were written in June 2021. Today is September 29th, 2021 and we are just finishing up. Coordination of the project has been terrible, quality of workmanship has been underwhelming at best. The subs that worked at my house have been short-term contractors for Matt with NO in-person follow-up by Him. Definitely would NOT recommend Matt or his company. Please do your homework before considering them. I did not until after the fact, check better business bureau, check google reviews, etc. Do not rely on the Palmetto Renovations website for your info.
