We hired Nate at Paragon Painting to paint the exterior of our home and stain our deck. We first made contact with him in mid-July when he came out to look at our house to give us an estimate. After that initial meeting, we didn't hear from Nate for over a week. We really liked him when we met him and wanted to get his estimate so we could finalize our decision on who we would choose, so I reached out again to him. We eventually got the estimate near the end of July and we're told that the project would take no longer than two weeks to complete. They pressure washed the house on 8/2 and told us that we needed to pay 50% of the project once the pressure washing was complete. So we paid him $3,000 down on 8/2. Over the next month and a half all that was started was the caulking. They didn't use the caulking that was promised in the estimate, they used a cheaper option. We had to contact him almost daily to see if anyone was coming to work on our house. We ended up doing a portion of the caulking ourselves to try and move the project along, for which we purchased the caulking ourselves. On 9/17 we decided to cancel our agreement with Nate. At this point it had been two months since we first talked to him and he had not completed the job by his promised to be completed by date of 9/14. Nate refuses to respond to our emails and text messages (for which we know he's reading because he has his read receipt on) and refuses to give us our money back. Nate comes across as a super nice guy, but he doesn't seem to understand how to follow through with promises he makes, or returning money that is not his, for work he did not perform. I would never hire Nate again and I hope if you decide to chance it, that you don't give him any money up front.

Nate, the scheduler/supervisor, has a great customer service attitude and personality. I spent my life doing customer support for computer companies such as Northwest Computer Support and Intel Corporation so I have a good feeling about what make good Customer attitude and personality. This amongst many other things caused me to tap this team to do my project. The fact that they also had the most reasonable price also helped.
