Interior Trim and Decorative Moldings - Install
I consider myself picky with high standards and after acquiring a couple bids for the crown moulding I decided to go with paramount interiors and I'm glad I did. Wood Flooring - Install or Completely Replace
Jim seemed to be competent and professional when we met for the initial quote. He gave me the impression that he had a number flooring people that he works with. It turns out that he hired a couple of kids off of Craigslist that he had never even met before. The job took quite a bit longer than he said it would and there were a number of problems that were not fixed. It was hit and miss on him even returning phone calls with issues. He finally promised to come fix the problems himself but didn't show or call to reschedule. We gave up and decided to finish it ourselves.

Wood Flooring - Install or Completely Replace
Jim at Paramount was great. We needed wood floors, carpet, and paint done for a move in on a tight schedule and he really delivered. We added several ceiling fans and a sink and everything went off without a hitch and on a reasonable budget. Jim was extremely responsive and the quality of the work was awesome.

Laminate Wood or Stone Flooring - Install
1. Flooring was agreed to prior to installation but Jim attempted to install another product and when cornered, initially said "It's the same stuff, with the same warranty". After proving it was not the same he blamed his supplier. So he either is unfamiliar with flooring products, or was purposefully deceitful. 2. No attempt was made to match the paint color. Jim took one look and reassured me it was "antique white." He used paint off the shelf, and then blamed the mismatch on the age of the paint on the walls (<5 years old). 3. Workers drink on the job site. 4. Despite repeated requests, has yet to send me a receipt

"This is not correct. We were told by the wholesaler the vinyl was comparable. When we discovered it wasn't we immediately removed it, at our expense, and installed another brand. No paint color was provided and we were told to be as close as possible so we painted the entire house so it would match, at our expense. We even painted trim that wasn't part of the quote. Lot of work for free. The job was completed, inspected, satisfied and paid in full. We are professionals and no one drinks on the job. There is no mention in this rating about poor quality work. The house looks great."

Positive: reasonable pricing, and that's about it. Downsides: poor attention to detail; poor customer communication and punctuality; lack of supervision of his crew. In all, the lack of transparency/communication and inattention to detail would prevent me from hiring him again.

Laminate Wood or Stone Flooring - Install
The job was quoted to be completed in one day, and it actually took three; however, even then some things were still incomplete, such as grouting between the flooring and the back door and replacing the trim around the cabinets. It was several weeks before those items were resolved. Also, the baseboards were removed to allow installation of the laminate and tile, and they were put back in place after being trimmed unevenly and damaged.

"We always strive to complete the project as quickly as possible with quality in mind. Sometimes issues arise that are beyond our control. We were there every day and worked late. We did come back as always to address any issues and make sure the end result is 100% satisfactory. The baseboards were removed and reset at the clients request Instead of the suggested replacement and 20 year old baseboards are just that. It was quoted as $75 for materials and no extra charge for labor. We're sorry we didn't insist on the replacement but the original baseboards were put back at the clients request. The floors look great as always."

Jon's work is excellent and he had great ideas on style and what was important. He also advised me on certain things that I wasn't aware of and steered me clear of doing work or replacing things that weren't needed to be done or replaced. Jon was always prompt to return text messages and phone calls.

Shows up late first and second day. Excuses about why his master installer is not here. New worker did not understand the process of laying the laminate flooring. Some end board pieces were 1-2" Jon said no problem. Some seams are less than 6' from adjacent panel, very little glue used. Did not make sure floor level before starting project. Tile installed at Backdoor is 2' off center. The crew was friendly. Jon guarantees his work for 2 yrs. Only 5% wasted material @

"The flooring installation was on schedule and not delayed at all. The demo crew was on time and when I arrived I began the installation. We were short 1 man but did not delay the install. The helpers did their job and I personally made sure the install went well. The floor is installed to manufacturer guidelines and experience makes sure there are no issues. If any problem exists, I am more than happy to fix. I have not been contacted to resolve any defects in the labor. 2 year warranty is active."

The contractor didn't do very well after they finished all the job. They left all the junk, the garbage, at my front yard- they didn't take it away. And I had some questions about the floor is squeaking and they never came back to take a look. They even didn't give us our key to enter the room. I called them 5 or 6 times, requested them to come back to our house to address the issue, and they never appeared again. This is the customer service issue about thier work. But overall their flooring is kind of ok, but there is squeaking noises after bamboo floor has been restored.

"We were told that the 2 bags of trash, neatly tied were to be picked up by the regular curbside trash pick up. The floor is installed correctly and any squeaking noises are due to the product and not the install."

Jon and Megan from Paramount Interiors were just awesome. First they came to our home and helped us pick the flooring that suited our needs. They were very insightful and helpful. The laborers were extremely polite and cautious of our belongings. Paramount Interiors is a company I would use again. They are very professional and down to earth. I received many calls from placing an inquiry on the Internet and spoke to at least 5. Hands down Jon spent the most time answering my questions and providing me with solutions.

Jon and his crew were amazing. We tried for two weekends to put this floor down and they had it done BEAUTIFULLY in 4 hours. They went the extra mile and even brought the furniture in from outside. We hired this company because they were the most professional and innovative. We did not regret our choice at all. The job was started earlier than expected. They did have to work one day longer than planned- but we were glad they wanted to do the work correctly and not just work fast. They came back to fix some gliches without any question or delay. I would definitely refer them to others or use them again myself.

Laminate Wood or Stone Flooring - Install
I hired Jon to do a rather large project that involved removing 2000 square feet of tile and laminate flooring, remodeling the master bathroom, kitchen, and installing new laminate flooring throughout. I went with him because he was willing to do all the projects. He was nice person to work with, but they were slow and he did not supervise the projects very well. The attention to detail was lacking. I had to point out several things that had to be redone (and I had to pay for the materials). My laminate floors make crunching sounds when I walk in certain areas. The price was great..but I feel like I got what I paid for.
