Parrot Creek Builders LLC showed up for 4 weeks, never came back to complete the job. Collected $75K for work completed and materials, materials that were never delivered. Owe me $18K for materials not delivered. Would not answer phone calls, text messages or emails. When I confronted him at his office, he said the co tractor did not have a finish date. POS company.
6/22/2026 --- Updated The crew does quality work. The problem is, they started my project on July 5, 2025, were very g for for weeks, left the job on August 1, 2025. They have been back for 1 day since. The job is maybe 50% complete, today is March 13, 2026, over 7 months. I have called and text messaged over 100 times, no response from the company.

extremely sloppy work, especially the tile work, and some of the finishing details on wood and where edges meet on walls,etc. Forgot to grout part of the tile in shower insert and did not return to do it. All this pertains to a bathroom remodel.

Brent took on a large project as the home had not been updated in over 30 years. He assessed what was needed, provided a cost breakdown and got to work. He is a professional that has done many projects. We feel he was communicative, stayed in contact with us, and provided a good experience all around. I would highly recommend him and his crew. He knows the business and has the contacts to provide contractors in areas that are not his expertise. His pricing is fair and he is willing to work with you. We would definitely use him again.

The garage was never built. After paying Brent Vandenberg $24,300 and waiting 115 days, not even the footers were close to completion. Almost NOTHING was done - just a few boards in the great big giant hole that the excavator - a different person we hired just for the purpose of excavation - prepared on day 7 of this project. We finally ended our business relationship with Brent Vandenberg and Parrot Creek Builders on day 116, and agreed on an amount to cover his costs with his promise to pay us the remaining balance owing us. He has not paid us back as agreed and refuses to communicate. We reported him to the La Plata County Sheriff's Department who strongly advised us to turn the matter over to an attorney to file a lawsuit. This is not something we wanted to do and told him so several times. He has done work for us previously and he did a very nice job. Something has happened to bring his lack of integrity and honesty to the surface. It really is a shame and we are sorry we ever got involved with him. Be aware of potential problems with Brent Vandenberg and his Parrot Creek Builders company. UPDATE: On November 20, 2018 we were contacted by a close family member of the Vandenberg family, Ms. Sylvia S. She offered to pay the debt owed to us by Brent and Shannon Vandenberg, doing business as Parrot Creek Builders. Mr. Vandenberg has not contacted us in any way to express remorse or apology for his dishonest business behavior. We are thankful that Ms. S. paid their debt, but we would advise anyone contemplating a business relationship with the Vandenbergs and this company to proceed with caution.

"First of all there was no time frame given in our estimate nor given verbally. The homeowners live out of town and we have given them discounts on multiple projects because they communicated they are not in a hurry for the projects to be completed. We have worked with them giving them discounted work, included work not included on our estimates and taken trades for payment at our expense. The project timeframe was also delayed in getting started with their building permit because of a pre existing problem with their lots. We spent extra time, not in our agreement, correcting the problems and getting the building permit completed. As for our lack of communication, we do not respond to every text and call of homeowners who contact us at all hours and days of the week. The home owners changed their mind about the timeframe and manner in which they wanted the project done after entering into an agreement with us. They demanded crews of guys be there and wanted us to be on their abbreviated timeframe, both not in our agreement. We are a successful, accredited business in good standing with the Better Business Bureau, Secretary of State and Home Advisor. We run a business that adheres to common building standards and have over twenty years of successfully completed projects. We are unable and unwilling to stop all other work and be micromanaged by homeowners because they change their minds. The bottom line is that the Nabors decided to have someone else complete their project, most likely someone who under cut our numbers and needed to find fault with us. When the Nabors fired us, they immediately wanted their money returned and we had to go over what we had spent on their materials and time spent on their job. We never gave them a date on which we would refund their money, just told them that we would refund it as soon as we went over the numbers and within the State of Colorado law that we have 30 days to resolve construction contracts. The Nabors were refunded in full the $16,800.00 left in our agreement on November 20th concluding the agreement and making this complaint and all the other negative reviews they've left us untrue and slanderous. They agreed to remove this complaint and their negative review on the Better Business Bureau when they received payment and have done neither."
