Landscape - Minor Grading or Resloping
I hired this company approx Oct. 2021 to grade around my entire home and install metal edging and river rock to protect the foundation. The owner kept asking me to write a review before the job was over. I'm glad I didn't. All seemed well at the beginning of the job, but towards the end it became clear that the owner had not appropriately communicated to his work crew the scope of work he and I had agreed upon. I ended up paying the crew almost an additional $1000 to complete the work. Then I contacted the owner to send someone out to fix the sprinkler lines the crew had broken. He did not. That cost me another $650.

Brian and his team were excellent. They performed major landscaping and land clearing project and we’re always on time and provided budget updates and bids as new needs were discovered. Brian communicated often, sent photos as the project was being done, and was very thoughtful in his approach to the project. I highly recommend them for landscaping!

Landscape - Minor Grading or Resloping
They installed a French drain and retaining wall to reroute water away from our back porch and door. It was expensive but what isnâ t these days. We also had Astro turf put down for a play area for our grandkids. The work looks clean and very nice.

Pawpaw's did a great job installing a rock/grass patio, some landscape and a vinyl fence. O'Neal was super responsive and his crew for both jobs stayed on the job until I was satisfied and they made sure the work was done right. I would definitely recommend them and also use them again.

Oneal and John really took care of us. Iâ d definitely recommend both of them for concrete, Hardscaping and landscaping. They had plenty of great ideas and helped transform our backyard into a real thing of beauty. They did a great job with the border, concrete patio, and dog run and would recommend them to anyone in the market for this kind of work. They have also made every effort to continue to ensure their work was completed to our satisfaction. They even returned to the job to make a small repair, really going above and beyond to ensure we felt taken care of. John and Oneal are fantastic to work with, and would recommend asking for them by name!

The work provided by Pawpaws Landscaping was first rate! The crew were professional, hard-working and very competent. The masonry work was especially perfect!! The only issue I had was with some misunderstanding about the contracted work and what was conveyed to the work crews (who were NOT at fault).

Pawpaws Landscaping did an incredible job for us. We hired them to address a drainage issue, do some zero scape and add some artificial turf for our dogs. They not only did the thing we asked for but added some nice touches of their own to really finish off the yard nicely. They were great to work with and when they left for the day they let us know when to expect them back and what next steps were. Couldnâ  t be happier with them

Brick and Stone Patios, Walks, and Steps - Install
I was so happy with the work that PawPaws Landscaping did for us. They put in flower beds and a stone walkway. Both turned out beautifully. They were done in a timely, professional manner that is not always easy to come by these days. Most importantly, they responded quickly to my calls. Some companies didn't even bother to call back, which I found surprising. Overall, I would highly recommend PawPaws Landscaping for a really great job.

The actual workers were wonderful, putting their all into the plan. I cannot rate them high enough! On the other hand, I found management, to be disappointing. The 4-day job extended to 4 week because the crew kept getting pulled away to other job sites. Materials were slow to develop, as there were few assigned to **pick up materials**. As a function of doing business with a Landscaper, contracts are frequently not written and signed by both parties, it is usually signed with a handshake. (Covid, notwithstanding). Pay 50% upfront, 25% halfway through and final payment (25%) at the end. However, I discovered that, because of added days, (not my fault) and materials (no approval for extra materials given) my final payment was higher than my first 50% payment. Now, the invoice gave me 30 days to pay, yay, only to have the owner to call on the next day to tell me to pay NOW so that he could make is payroll. Uhmp.

"Paula, I'm truly sorry that you weren't completely satisfied. The largest volume of material for your project was free mulch provided by Comal county. We were surprised to learn that the grinder was broken and they didn't have any mulch. They advise that they expected to have it running in a few days. After two weeks the grinder was still broken and they were having trouble finding the parts needed to make the repairs. The ownership and management of Pawpaws made the decision to purchase 36 yards, three loads of enriched dyed Black Mulch at no additional cost to you. The project took four weeks to complete from the initial date you agreed on."

Pawpaw is, by far, the best contractor I have worked with over the past 30 years (and there have been many!). He is prompt, honest, does what he says he is going to do and with his client's needs a foremost consideration. One of the most amazing things is he returns calls and in a timely fashion something I have not experienced in the past. Another plus is he comes by after the project is completed to make sure his work is maintaining. He Xeroscaped a portion of my backyard and replaced all the shrubbery in the front following the "freezing event" of this past winter. Both projects needed some attention which was quickly seen to. The finished projects were excellent as is Pawpaw!

PawPaws Landscape crew was professional and always striving to achieve our ideas. From the initial eval and estimate by ONeal to completion of the job (top soil spread front and back, flagstone patio build, bed makeover and planting replacement plants, dead plant removal, landscape edging and crushed granite path) PawPaws crew of John, Tiffany and Darren were courteous, diligent and hard working. When some soil obtained was not up to their standard they took it back and travelled all the way to Wimberly to get the right soil. They made sure we had the stone we wanted for a flagstone patio and meticulously cut and placed the stone. When less material was used than bid in the estimate the bill was promptly adjusted. I was in contact daily with ONeal and every request was complied with immediately. ONeal even tracked down a irrigation specialist who came the next day to replace a bad sprinkler manifold and solenoid. Quality of work, price and professionalism of crew and ONeal made this a painless endeavor. I will definitely use Paw Paws in the future for any landscape needs aand have already referred them to my neighbors.

I love my new siewalk and extended driveway. The irrigation team did a wonderful job cleaning up the site. Was so impressed the day the garbage ran and because of the work trucks was not going to pick up my trash. One of the workers, I think Nick, actually took my cam to the truck. Brian and his team are so very responsive to any questions or concerns I might have. Everyone is professional and efficient. I will recommend them to anyone who needs any work.

This is the second time we hired Paw Paw for landscaping. They do an excellent job. This project was both front and back yard landscaping. Brian came up with excellent ideas. This company is efficient and reasonable. The employees are very professional and courteous. The finished job looks beautiful. I highly recommend them.
