I am so happy with the job Peak Remodeling did with my roof. My son had a leak in his room and Peak Remodeling sent out a representative that quickly diagnosed the problem. The price was great compared to competitors and the customer service was top notch. I never realized what a difference a new roof could make. I live in a townhouse and it's amazing how much nicer my roof looks than all my neighbors when you turn onto my court. I will definitely use Peak Remodeling again in the future.

Review by Joseph H. in Belcamp, MD
I strongly disagree with previous reviewers. We selected Peak because of the high ratings they got on Home Advisor, but surprisingly the experience turned up to be one of the worst we had... simply a nightmare. Our house Chimney top blew out during a recent wind storm and needed rebuilding. Peak manager JB contacted us with a decent quote and we signed up with them. They did not show up in time for several days with excuses ranging from weather, even when it is not raining, family issues of some crew members, or missing parts that never showed up. They don't answer phones selectively, they promise they are there just around the corner then don't show up. They claimed that they bought needed material, then later they claimed they are still waiting for it. They will pass us from one crew member to the other. Too much beating around the bush, passing the buck, contradictory statements and promises that are not met. When contacting the owner, David, he starts threatening by calling the insurance for insurance fraud, claiming that our contract is worthless and he would like to cancel the job and demanding that his crew should show up at any time they like, take whatever time they need, and finish the job at their leisure, and we should not complain or further contact the manager. He made it sounds like it is a privilege that they are doing this job for us. When he starts threatening by calling the authorities if we kept calling, we decided to end this nightmare, we asked and emailed them to cancel the contract and return our down payment... we are still waiting for the down payment to be sent... will see!!
Response by Peak Custom Remodeling Corporation: Joseph we are truly sorry for your experience. To my understanding much of what you describe did happen and that falls on us as a company at the end of the day - we take full responsibility. I do want to take the time to at least add a few pieces of information left out and explain the actions we took to rectify this issue so it never happens to another customer again. JB had recently been brought on as a new project manager and you were one of his first jobs to handle. We found out later from you that he had not come out on scheduled appointment dates multiple times but unfortunately we were not aware as he had been lying to us as well. It was too late to rectify it as we didn't know until it had already happened multiple times. It is in no way acceptable and we fully understand your frustrations. It sounds like JB made big promises and was not good about communicating with you and I apologize he was your project manager - that falls on us for bringing him on to represent us. The only thing stated in your review that I am a little confused about is the conversation you referenced with David...the day you spoke to him was the first time we realized what had been going on with JB and your project (we had JUST heard similar feedback from another customer that JB was in charge of dealing with as well). Dave explained to you that we were most likely going to be letting him go within the next week and didn't have anyone else that could manage a chimney construction project (we specialize in replacement roofing, windows, doors and gutters; not construction) so we offered to refund your deposit and cancel the contract. Your wife called in and (I do understand your frustration) screamed at and berated Dave insisting that we do the job Monday even if it had to be JB that did it. Dave said that based on what had happened he could not guarantee JB wouldn't no show again as he had already done several times but we would wait to let him go until after he had one more opportunity to make things right and complete your project - but that we would prefer to part ways amicably and refund your deposit so you can start fresh with a different contractor. That is the why Dave said not to contact the project manager any more - but you elected to insist JB do the work. As could be expected he didn't show up once again and he was immediately terminated. Your wife then called again and berated and screamed at whoever she talked to and demanded the contract be canceled and the deposit be refunded - as we had suggested be done to begin with based on everything you had already been through. The deposit check was mailed within 24 hours and you should have had it for a few weeks now. Almost every mention of "they" referring to employees of Peak was specifically JB - which again is our responsibility for hiring him and not doing a better job of choosing who to represent us - but is absolutely not a reflection of the rest of our staff, our installers, or our work; which is why our other customer reviews are so positive. Lastly, the insurance fraud portion of the conversation did happen and is accurate and here is the explanation as Dave tried to explain - when you insisted we proceed with the work and Dave told you not to contact JB on his cell phone but to deal directly with us through the office, he asked for you to send a copy of your insurance approval so we could review it and make sure the contract JB wrote up was for the amount of the approval. You would not send/disclose the approval paperwork or amount - which typically in this business is because their approval is for more than our initial estimate or agreement before performing the work. It actually is committing insurance fraud by the consumer if they pocket a portion of their approval money and do not release those funds to the contractor, as long as the work performed lines up with the work approved by the insurance company.

We first selected Peak Custom Remodeling and two other companies for estimates after reading reviews. The reviews for Peak were uniformly complimentary for good reason. This company actually follows its company philosophy. Pat, our project manager, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and extremely interesting as he talked about the company, roofing materials, the process to be used for installation, warranties, worker training, professional organizations, and community support. His presentation was thoroughly supported by the work done by the roofing crew during the week of 10/9/17. They were experienced, efficient, and courteous. Our house is fairly small, but we've been told by professionals that the total roofing area is large. In spite of that assessment, our roof was installed and the property left clear and clean in one day. When one nail was found the next day, a second sweep with the magnet was applied. I would certainly recommend Peak Custom Remodeling and will use the company for other work when needed.
Response by Peak Custom Remodeling Corporation: Thank you for the detailed feedback and for taking the time to share your experience. We truly appreciate your business and your recommendation!

Love this company! They kept me informed through every step of the job, from the initial meeting, to when the shingles would be dropped off, when they would start the job, to the final walk through. Everyone, including the men who put the roof on were polite and professional. They left the property looking like they had never been there except for the beautiful new roof.
Response by Peak Custom Remodeling Corporation: Thanks for the feedback and thank you for choosing Peak! Don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or need us to look at any future projects.

From start to finish, our experience with Peak Custom Remodeling was outstanding. Our consultant, Ben Love, was the primary reason that we decided to choose this company over the other four that we had contacted. He is courteous, polite, trustworthy, and very knowledgeable about the roofing industry. He spent a lot of time with us explaining all of the different roofing options, and in the end did a remarkable job of getting the right roof for our house and shed. The installation crew was also very professional and did a meticulous job. The company was right in the ballpark with their pricing, too. Yes, I would definitely recommend Peak Custom Remodeling to anyone, and ask for Ben Love!
Response by Peak Custom Remodeling Corporation: Thank you for sharing the kind words about your experience and thank you for choosing Peak to work on your home. If you ever have a question don't hesitate to give us a call!

I replaced my cedar shake roof with asphalt shingles. My experience working with working with Peak was exceptional. The attention to detail and knowledge started with the personal involvement of owner David Stavinoha and continued through the onsite installers and clean-up crews. They were a true partner spending time to educate explaining different options and the pros/cons of each. David's focus was on ensuring the end roof was done right and loved by our family for decades to come. We LOVE the new roof and their 50 year roof warranty on materials/labor was the cherry on top. Through this process I learned there is limited county/state oversight on roofing companies. Which means the quality of your roof is completely determined by which contractor you select. Like the three little pigs contractor quality comes in Straw, Sticks and Brick. Peak is a true Brick contractor and I Highly recommend David & his team.
Response by Peak Custom Remodeling Corporation: Chuck, thank you so much for allowing us to work on your home and trusting us to replace your roof. We love going through the process for jobs like this that truly are a transformation and we are glad you love the finished product just as much. Never hesitate to give us a call back if you ever need anything.

Peak Remodeling did an excellent job providing our new roof. We interviewed five other companies before deciding on Peak. Ben is a very knowledgeable, honest salesman who clearly explained the roofing process and the quality of the products used by Peak. He kept in constant touch making sure we were satisfied, answering any questions, and securing financing. His personable and informative sales approach really made the difference in our choice to go with Peak and our total satisfaction along the way. The installation team was outstanding. They worked very hard each day and cleaned up at the conclusion of each day, making sure our dog was safe from nails and other debris. When rain came, they immediately took precautions to make sure any unfinished items were water sealed to prevent any possible damage to the project. Jason, the installation manager, was in contact and available to answer any questions we had. The roof looks stunning and we definitely plan to use Peak for future projects!
Response by Peak Custom Remodeling Corporation: Thank you for sharing your experience and for the kind words. We all strive to deliver top notch customer service, use the best products, and leave the finished product looking exactly the way the customer hoped for. I'm glad everything went great - don't hesitate to call if you ever have any questions and thank you again for choosing Peak!

We needed a new roof so I did a Google web search and found 3 companies which I contacted and had come out discuss the job and provide an estimate to install a new roof. We went with PEAK Custom Remodeling for a number of reasons; two of which were - they were priced in the middle of the 3 estimates and their man who came out (Pete) was the only one, of the three, who after looking around up in our attic not only told us, but showed us (from photos taken in the attic with his smartphone), of potential damage we had with the existing plywood and some possible leaks. To back up a bit, the original gentleman scheduled to come out for the initial visit was late and we were wondering what happened to him when I got a phone call from the owner (Dave) who told me he had been involved in a car accident (glad to find out later he was not hurt) on his way to our house. Dave apologized for the inconvenience this caused and asked if we were still interested he could have another gentleman to our house shortly. I said of course, and it was Pete who showed up and explained that he would be our Sales/Project Manager throughout the job and that he would also be responsible for everything and that he and I would do the final inspection/walk-around when the job was completed before asserting in fact it was complete to our approval. Pete did a complete walk-around, in part to determine the square footage the job would require and, after listening to what we planned on having done, proceeded to give us a complete rundown on the different features of the many kinds of available roofing materials/styles. Needless to say, Pete was extremely knowledgeable, personable and professional; in addition, his meticulous attention to detail made all the difference in the world which in-turn made us feel confident and comfortable about choosing PEAK to do the job. He spent a lot of time answering our many questions as well as explain the many differences and features of, and about, the details and installation of a new roof, which we did not think about, and also discuss other various options with us and made sure we had the best information available to make our final decision. Pete came back for a second visit because we thought we may want to make some changes to the shingle type we initially selected. Ultimately we decided to stick with our initial choice, also during the second meeting we selected the color of the shingles we wanted. We set up a date for the shingles to be delivered (placed on the top of the roof) and the next day the first worker showed up at 6:30AM sharp and began working. With the addition of two other roofers they worked the entire day and came back the next day finishing up around Noon - both days in hot, sunny 90 degree temperatures. All three roofers were pleasant, personable and professional and you can tell from the finished product they are highly experienced. Prior to leaving they did a magnetic sweep for any loose nails and staples and cleaned up the yard around the house, leaving two piles of materials which were picked up later in the afternoon of the second day. The next day, Pete came out and we did a final walk-around at which time I affirmed that we were satisfied with the completed job. The roofers did a FANTASTIC and SUPERB job and the new roof looks FANTASTIC and we are extremely happy. I have already had several neighbors tell me how great the new roof looks and ask who did the work - I point to the PEAK sign still up in my lawn. It was a great experience working with them and we would STRONGLY recommend contacting PEAK for any home improvement type work you need done, such as: roofing, siding, gutter systems, insulation, window and doors, etc.
Response by Peak Custom Remodeling Corporation: WOW!!! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience in that much detail as well as share the pictures. We sincerely appreciate you as a customer and thank you again for trusting us to work on your home. Feel free to call any time if you have a question or ever need anything.

Project: New Windows - 6 +
My initial project was for new windows. I interviewed 3 companies. A local group, a well know regional group and PEAK. The first two gave me quotes on a business card and one would let me take a picture but was not given anything on paper. PEAK came out and after a detail conversation my project went from windows, to windows, front door and siding - rather large project. Due to some personal issues I couldn’t start the project for a few months and PEAK honored the original quote. Initially there was a few scheduling issues due to weather. Once started the project moved, with a team of 8 , I had 28 windows replaced in one day, with a team of 3, I had the front door ( everything – side lights etc) replaced in a day and with another team of 3 I had the siding replaced in less than a week. If you can get the theme, 3 different teams doing what they are do best. Note the siding team worked from about 9ish until at least 7 evert night. From the beginning my sales / project manager Pete kept the project rolling and Michelle kept the schedule in tack. I apologize if I forgot anyone else on the team. From the initial interview until completion the entire project took about 4 months (that’s including some personal scheduling needs and some weather bumps). I cannot say enough about working with PEAK. A week after project completion Pete came out for final inspection. There were a few screen issues that were fixed within the first week. The outside of my house looks fantastic. I’ve already given out PEAK’s (Pete’s) number to a few neighbors and friends. I cannot say enough good things about PEAK , except to call them for you next home project. Windows, doors and siding PEAK can do it all. And for me they did. GREAT job. I highly recommend PEAK. A final note - its July and the other 2 companies have yet to do a follow up on the initial meeting. PEAK excellent customer service.
Response by Peak Custom Remodeling Corporation: Thank you sincerely for taking the time to share your experience in this much detail. Everyone here works very hard to assure that our customers are happy with the entire process as well as the finished product and take a lot of pride in their work. The whole team is glad that is reflected in your personal experience. You have been a pleasure to work with, don't hesitate to call with any future questions or just to say hello.

I was extremely pleased with my new roof and gutters put in by Peak Custom Remodeling. From beginning to end, the job was very professional, thorough and beautiful. I also appreciate that appointments were always kept and construction was done in a timely manner. The sales associate, Ben, spent a good deal of time explaining everything to me concerning my choices. The job manager, Jason, along with Ben, kept me informed on the progress and also solutions to problems that arose. There are a lot of quirks with an old house like mine so it didn’t surprise me that there were some hidden issues. Jason showed me the problems, which I had suspected were there for a while, and made sure that the solutions were appropriate and corrective. Basically, the top half of my house was brought up to code and Peak actually gave it extra fortification without additional cost. Also, the crews were exceptional. Their work showed true craftsman level. They spent additional time making sure the tiles and the gutters were absolutely placed correctly. At the end of every day the site was cleaned up. Even while they were working, one of the crew saw that I had a dog and, without even asking, cleared a path from my door to the yard so I could take my dog out. That is courtesy! I am so happy with my beautiful roof and gutters and I have to pat myself on the back for choosing this company.
