I was doing the lawn to garden conversion and wanted to get the least expensive option to qualify for the rebate. He gave me a very reasonable price and did an amazing job. And I was able to get the rebate approved! I 100% recommend Kaster and Permagreen for any landscaping work.

No respect for Neighbor's property! They put up a fence for the property next to me and left piles of dirt from post holes dug. They poured the majority of the concrete for these post holes on my property. They knew before hand that I will be putting a retaining wall on my side of the property line as well as a fence. This contractor was arrogant and condescending about this matter and knew perfectly well of my plans as he even provided an estimate to do my project. As always with contractors check their license and possession of proof of Workers Compensation Insurance for their workers, unless you have a premium home owners insurance policy, which most people cannot afford. 2/14/2025 I reviewed your reply, if this is how you respect surrounding areas, I.E. neighbor's property and lasting attitude against them then I see no reason to change my review. My project will take place but in my own time. If you were serious about your effort to remedy your errors you would provide a notorized statement as such interested of updating and further disrespecting the issue.

After our kids left for college, we decided to redo our water-hungry, high-maintenance backyard. A friend recommended Permagreen Landscaping, and working with Kaster was a breath of fresh air. He listened, didn’t push extras, and brought creative, thoughtful solutions—especially when it came to a tricky gas heater install near our pergolas. What started as a simple paver job became a full transformation: demo, grading, new planters, drainage, pavers, artificial turf, native plants, trees, and lighting. His crew was respectful, hardworking, and cleaned up beautifully. This wasn’t just a job—it felt like a partnership. Kaster was honest, experienced, and stayed on track despite bad weather and outages. Highly recommend Permagreen for anyone serious about quality landscaping.

Kastor was very nice so I hired him to install SOD in my backyard. He told me that my sprinklers needed to be redone as well. I agreed to that and the price for both was 16K. After the SOD was down he told me it would go dormant in the winter, which would not have been my choice living in CA. Shortly after installation it strted showing signs of problems. I texted him and sent pictures. I followed all of his instructions. There was no improvement so I texted and sent more pictures and he told me to wait until January and then fertilize. I did this but by then there were large areas where the grass had died and there were sections of SOD you could lift up that had not teken root. This even happened in an area fenced off from my dogs. This is extremely disappointing given the cost, the fact I followed all his directions and contacted him immediately when it looked like there were issues.

Three things. 1. They knew what they were doing . 2. Very professional in all phases of the Job, start to finish, extremely neat in the demolition, cleanup, polite. 3. On time and did the job very efficiently, the crew worked well together nothing wasted both in time and use of materials .

Mr. Choi is a second generation owner. He and his team helped with demolition, root and lawn removal, grading, plant and flower installation, mulching, irrigation, and retaining wall construction. All excellent, with polite listening to clients and thoughtful recommendations of alternatives. We are proud of our yard and pleased to recommend him.

At the estimate we agreed on a plan, but when they arrived to do the work they had changed the plan which increased the cost. Now I agree that the new plan was better, but an advance call to discuss it would have been nice. They sort of gave me no choice as when they showed up to do the work, they only had the material required for the new plan, so if I had said no to the new plan, it would have extended the job for a few days.

Good job, clean worksite, timely completion

They were wonderful, competitive pricing and the job was done on time.
