Sherwood works wonders and miracles. I would hire him in a heartbeat. He worked with our local city of boca raton, fl which is infamous for being super difficult but he stuck with us from beginning to end.

I hired this company to guide me through the building permitting process and, although I have not yet successfully obtained my permit, their conscientious pursuit of what has proved to be a difficult and exasperating experience would likely earn my recommendation even if they were to ultimately fail.

I had a project I needed permits for. A concrete slab and electrical were completed before I obtained any permits during the pandemic. Permits by Sherwood helped (a lot) with this process. Excellent customer service! Very knowledgeable on all that had to be done. Sherwood and Shantel were extremely helpful with the permits and the HOA climbing up my back about the project. Thank you for everything.

Permits by Sherwood: I highly recommend their service, Sherwood, and his assistant (Shantel) put my fears to ease and saved me the cost of replacing my roof when it was not necessary... I thought, as a homeowner, that pulling my permits for new construction (even just changing the roof) would be easy and manageable, only to be notified by my insurance, who are becoming ever more difficult, just trying to cut costs. When a huge tree branch fell on my HVAC, their adjuster mistakenly noted my HVAC as a 2 ton when it was a 5 ton. Then, they were questioning the quality of the roof materials, they had my 30-year architectural shingles and they were listed as 10-year basic shingles, they were still in great shape, plus the waste and the expense and this meant they were suggesting I also replace the shingles 20 years early. Plus, I expect they were also charging me more for the insurance premiums. So, I tried to read and understand the building permits, and yet, the technical jargon and their quantity, it was very hard. I found the receipt and confirmed with the vendor, they were the 30-year architectural shingles. I was so confused, and I knew I needed some help. Especially, because the building department can also make you tear down and redo anything not documented and permitted correctly. Then, I came across this company, this was the first time I had ever heard of this type of service I contacted them to ask what they do. He and Shantel were candid, informative, and explained the possible outcomes; and then researched my building permits. Sherwood went the extra mile to review the information with the building department, validate my building permits, and explain any changes in the building codes and I was in good shape. I highly recommend Sherwood and Shantel, from Permits by Sherwood. I was so thankful for a positive outcome - Kathleen W.
