Phillips Painting and Repair

Service Magic reached out to us to help me solve a noise issue coming from a neighbor. At that time we were in contact with Phillips Painting and Repair and after our initial phone consultation with Phillips my partner and I scheduled an appointment to review sound proofing options and then drew up a contract for the job. Throughout the project various appointments were affirmed but never kept, this included weekday and weekend appointments. We were never in his way as communicated and were forthcoming on time meeting every pay schdule. It was highly upsetting when he subcontracted a portion of the work, he said he would perform and charged us extra for it. But. the project had begun and with so many delays we were weary and wanted to see the completion. It would seem that every time he requested payment, he would alway meet those appointments, purchase the supplies and them perform one days work. After that, we had to chase him down to finish the job. We placed a lot of faith in Philips since they were the experts. Our goal was to have a successful project which would enable us to decide whether or not we would keep our home. Unfortunately, the work was shoody, our ojbectives were not met and our job was still not completed.....

I used Paint and Repairs by Mr. L.P. They called and made appointment and were on time. We came to agrement on price.They came back when they said they would and did a very good job. They were better then other people I have seen in this type of work.I can not beleive anyone could have any problem with this Co. I would not be afraid to tell anyone about them they were the best. I will use them again no problem. Thank you.

I had an issue with the work that he did and he came back and fixed it for me. He is a very nice and agreeable person and tries very hard to please!

Larry came, was personable, gave me an estimate, came back when he said he would. I found out I'd been told that the ceiling was plaster but clearly it was not, he fixed the problem, even moved some furniture for us. Talked with me about other projects. He is very knowledgeable (old school) They were fast (he told me he'd bring a helper before hand) They cleaned up everything and left the wall/ceiling ready for painting. I was impressed and plan to have him come back for more work soon.

Worse experience in my entire life of dealing with contractors. Weeks of delays . Demanded more money after taking money for materials and not purchasing them. Had to finish job with another person and pay even more money. Buyers beware.

Be very careful upon hiring this company! He does great work but slow moving. Get everything done when he is there because he will not keep appointments with you that was scheduled. He has no customer service skills. He will make an appointment with you and will never show to complete the work.

Do more advertising.

When Mr. Phillips found the sheetrock had not been prepared properly he delayed painting and demanded that the work be redone. The finished walls are beautiful!

LP showed up presented us with proposal and did the job when he promiced. I would use him for any future work of this kind we need to have done.

He did a good job at a reasonable price.

Had popcorn ceilings smoothed out in two rooms. In my case the popcorn was very tough and LP had to use a combination of scraping and mudding to remove it. The guy worked like a dog until the job was done. He fixed a soft spot too where some water had damaged the sheetrock. NOTE: Put plastic over anything you don't want dust on and over the doors to keep the dust from getting out of the rooms(s) being worked on. Air vents, too -- cover them up with plastic. Make sure it's clear whether you're expected to remove ceiling fixtures or whether they'll do it. All warnings aside I'd definitely use this guy again.

Had some popcorn ceilings removed. LP worked long and hard to get it finished, and it was more stubborn than some others (had to be scraped and sanded off -- no easy water removal). You are in charge of putting up plastic over air intakes and doorways to other parts of the house. If you don't cover those openings up, every inch of your house will be covered in sheetrock dust. Also, it'll be your job to remove smoke detectors, light fixtures, ceiling fans and so on from the ceilng before the work starts. But if you know these things in advance you'll be happy.

Mr Phillips was professional, courteous and on time.

LP did a great drywall job for me. There was very little sanding after he left. He was dedicated to the job. He worked late to complete the job the same day.
