I had the best experience with Preferred Construction. They were on time, efficient and professional. I had them demo part of a counter top, add quartz counter tops, recessed lighting, handles on my cabinets, new sink and faucet. They estimated my Kitchen Reno to be a week and a half. They were able to complete my project within a week. The entire team at Preferred Construction were great. They answered all my questions and concerns quickly and were in constant communication with me about the progress of the Reno. I could not be more happy with the work they performed. Thank you Preferred Construction.

Our project manager was there everyday and in constant communication throughout the project. The staff that worked on the house were not only talented but were also always nice and respectful of everyone and everything. They tended to every request both large and small throughout the process and were a joy to work with. While a project of this size will always be an inconvenience, the staff and project manager minimized the aggravation of living in a construction zone for such a lengthy period of time.

If you have time on your hand to wait with no contact this is your contractor. A 3 to 4 week project took over 5 weeks. Days without work with no call as when they would show up. When the project manager showed up made it sound like everything would be completed on time. The work was fair at best, grout lines uneven, tiles uneven, large amount of grout in corners, tile at the top of the wall needs had to have large amounts of calking applied by me. New wall with texture had to be sanded by me to match other walls. Had to keep checking on work because workers did not know the scope of work. Waiting on shower glass door and glass for pony wall for over 10 days, one excuse after another. Estimate went up 1000.00 dollars from one day to next when came time to write up contract. Used Floor and Decor for material had to call them to extend them holding material because the work was not done. Area was a mess once work was done, very little clean up was done, spent over 4 hours cleaning up bathroom. Was a huge mess of dust everywhere. Even the paper on the floors was left for me to remove. I will give a shout out to the Plumber who came he was every good. First time doing what i call a major remodel and the issues I had was the reason I had never done one before and will think long and hard before doing another one. My time is important too. UPDATE: After posting this review I contacted the project manager who assisted with shower glass install. I was contacted by the office to schedule the new project manager plus one to come out and see my issues 2 days later Friday. While they were here they did say I should have been told about the cleaning service which I was not. We went over all the issues I had with the grout. They said they would have some out on Monday, but on Sunday I noticed water leaking out of the new pony wall, I contacted both by text, and they responded quickly. Project Manager showed up with in a couple hours. The grout issues were put on hold and Monday they had to cut a hole in the wall and remove tile to find the leak, which was repaired the next day. The grout issues and replacement of the tile and repair of the wall was completed over the next few days. The leak also cause damage to an archway which was also repaired. The quality of the work was very good and I wish the person doing the repairs had done the install I believe the quality of work would have been outstanding. The communication during the repair was much better once again, wish it had been this way during the entire project. I have changed my rating of work quality from 2 starts to 4, customer service from 1 to 3.5 and value for money from 2 to 3.5. While I cannot recommend this company because of the entire project. I will say the project manager and the worker who did the repairs were very qualified and if I could ensure you had these individuals your project should be done professionally.

"Thank you kindly for your business, and we appreciate the opportunity to do your project. What happened Sir, when you reached out to our office the first time regarding your concerns at the end of the job we asked for the opportunity to come out to address any item that you may not have been 100% satisfied with be corrected and offered professional cleaning service for final clean and you declined. We apologize over the glass contractors we recommended, however the glass was not in our scope of work therefore hired directly by you. Please know that if there are anything we can do for you, please reach out to us, and we will be happy to take care of it."

To many things had to be redone because of poor workmanship. If we as the customer hadnt pointed out flaws they would not have been corrected. There needs to be more quality control put into the process.

Update 4/18/19 - After posting my initial review, Jason from P.C. contacted me to ask how they could make things right. They had Ricardo come out and look at the places I mentioned below. He scheduled workers to come out the next day, and they worked to fix things. It is not 100% right, but it is much better. Posted 4/9/19 - I would rate Preferred Construction (P.C.) 4.5 stars, if not for their workers especially the tile guys. The people who work for the company directly, David, Carlos, and Jorge are super nice and seem to know their business. They were mostly responsive, except in certain situations. Because of the poor workmanship, I am giving them 3 stars. It would have been 2 stars, but the company did reimburse me for supplies that had to be replaced due to mistakes. Their timeliness was really good. They started on 9/18/18 and I asked that they be done before Thanksgiving. We would have been done maybe 2 weeks before then, if not for having to wait for replacement supplies. It ended up being completed around 12/18/18. The pricing was very competitive. The first part of the job was removing an exterior door and closing in the hole. The exterior was re-done VERY well, but the interior was not; the baseboard where the door had been needed to be spliced in and it looks horrible. Luckily it s a closet so my clothes hide the hideous workmanship. The next part of the job included another closet, a pantry, relocating our bedroom door, and a bathroom. During demolition, they removed insulation from the interior walls and put it all over our back patio, so I figured they were going to reuse it. Nope! After the walls had been put up I noticed it was still there, so I asked why they did not put it back into the walls. They told me interior walls did not need it. This is a custom home and it was there before, so they should have put it back in! The closet and pantry turned out great (except for the painted ceilings, which I did not want painted). Where they closed in the existing bedroom door there are obvious, lumpy indications of where the opening was. The bathroom is another story. The pony-wall that they built is bowed out, the outlet/switch that they installed is higher than the existing ones, the ceiling is painted the same as the walls, the cabinetry has cracks where they nailed it together, and the tile is extremely uneven. P.C. had to send out another team to fix the cabinetry and hardware since they were initially installed so poorly. The first tile guys had to come out twice to fix their mistakes, and then a couple of months later, tile started pulling away from the wall. They sent a different crew to fix that, but they still did poor work and one tile is so uneven that there s a gap where the plumbing for the shower is, so water can get behind the wall. If you are going to use P.C., here are some tips: 1) HOUND them. Watch everything that they do in hopes that you catch mistakes before they happen, or at least in time to get it fixed. 2) If you do not want the ceiling painted, tell them up front. I thought the painter would have enough common sense to see that the walls were a different color than the ceiling and would not paint it! Nope. He painted everything the same color, wasting expensive paint that we bought ourselves. 3) Take your tape measure and level and check everything right after it s been done. This way you have time to point out the crookedness, mismeasurements, and bowed walls before it s too late to correct them. 4) Keep on them about cleaning up after themselves, and provide drop-cloths if they do not bring any. We were left with a mess grout still smeared all over in the bathroom, sharp metal pieces and other trash in our dog run, and ruined stained concrete on the patio. I would actually hire them again, knowing that I would need to be my own foreman since the P.C. guys are too busy to do it themselves.

Preferred Construction is an outstanding company! Their professionalism and quality of work was second to none. The renovation project that we hired them for was quite extensive (whole house renovation) and needed to be handled, mostly from 2 states away. The value that we received for the contract value was enormous. We requested and received a 'Value Engineering Assessment', which beat the competition by far. The management and construction teams were excellent, they worked with us every step of the way and were extremely helpful in make recommendations that were more efficient and cost effective, which improved the overall quality of the renovations. Preferred Construction stayed in contact with us providing updates via phone, facetime and pictures weekly. This allow us to be able to run our main household without concern for the work that was being accomplished with this extensive project. When we arrived back at the home at the completion of the project we were extremely pleased with the quality of the work and how the whole project was managed. Preferred Construction completed the project on-time and under budget. I would recommend Preferred Construction to anyone who needs any home renovations from a single room to a whole house. Thank you, Preferred Construction!!!!

Overall very good. Started on time, finished before they said I should expect them to be done, did a very good job, cleaned up the work area, and hauled everything off. Who could complain? There were a couple of minor hiccups, but that probably goes with the territory with so many different individuals and variables involved. And some decisions are made on the fly. And I needed to be at work and not at home, so all in all they did a very good job of keeping in touch and keeping things running smoothly. They were always professional, courteous, and eager to please.

We recently had our master bathroom remodeled and are very happy with the results from Preferred Construction. We love how it turned out! The job took about 5 weeks to complete, but there was really just one guy working throughout the entirety of the construction. Would have preferred two if it were an option so the work could have been done more efficiently.
