Preferred Roof Systems & Construction Services

I would not recommend this service provider to my worst enemy. He will not return calls, it will be hard to find him. He does not finish the work, nor is it quality.

Preferred Roof Systems and Construction Service took my money and never came back to do the work. I found out from the State Police that this is not their first time the owner has scammed people. The only reason I gave the money down was that they were on Home Advisor. Now I am out a bunch of money. I think that Home Advisor should have done a better job of checking out Preferred Roof Systems and Construction Service. Maybe Home Advisor should reimburse the money I lost to those crooks.

Almost a year ago (Nov. 2019), we hired Doug and Preferred Roofing because they were the only ones able to install a new roof and repair interior of our home due to previous damage from another low-life company. It's now October 2020, and Doug and ALL his workers (we had 7 crews within the year) have left us with completed but sub-par, rushed work. The metal roof is already coming up and the seams are breaking. There are gaps and leaks on the outside, over the gutters (at least it's not coming inside now). The last message I received was on July 22, 2020, when the last crew promised to "see you tomorrow." Tomorrow never came. After that week in July, I saw an email in my spam folder from "Preferred Roofing Company" under Doug's name, saying services were closed "Due to COVID-19" (even though they were NOT CLOSED during March - May). There was no response to my return email or phone texts, up to this date. Some people think they went out of business. I hope so.

Beware! This company is a fraud. After checking various web sites like BBB and Home Advisor, all of which gave this company an A+ rating, I contracted with them on June 18th to replace my roof for several thousand dollars which needed to be paid upfront. I charged the deposit, and was told I would be put on the schedule in for June 22 and 23. When they did not show-up I tried repeatedly to contact them. I finally talked with a representative who explained they were behind schedule and a crew would be out in two weeks. After two weeks had gone by I tried to contact them, leaving messages until the mailbox was full. Since they had done nothing, I had my credit card company withhold payment until they responded. Finally the owner called me and I told him I would not approve payment until something was done. On Friday, July 17, the project manager showed up at my door. He assured me a dumpster would be brought to my house soon. Believing him I wrote a check to cover the deposit. He said a crew would be there on July 20 and 21. The dumpster was delivered but the crew did not show-up. I called and was told the weather forecast predicted rain so the crew would be out on July 23 and 24. My check was cashed on July 21. That was the last day I heard from them. It is now Sept. 1 and they have taken down their web site and they are nowhere to be found. I had to call the dumpster company to remove the dumpster.

Took money no contact since then. I cannot reach them.

I would highly recommend not using this company. ended up taking a down deposit and never completing any work.

Suspected Fraud Stay Away!

No work was ever done. They quoted a price. Took the deposit and cannot be contacted. Do not do business with this company.

I hired Cheryl to re roof the garage, they gave me an estimate in February, I have a signed contract, gave them a deposit of $2200.00 on June 5, 2020, no work was done except drop off a dumpster, everytime I call I feel like they are giving me the run around, now they will not call me back

Somehow, my first review is missing but Doug quoted my windows and doors last October and after many excuses, he finally decided to refund my deposit in May. It is July 4th and I still have not seen my money. I have proof both texts emails and voicemails. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!

This new window installation is the second job preferred has done for me and once again I can give them the highest rating. Once again Doug went out of his way in this trying time to facilitate this work. This is the same crew (Paulo and Alfredo) that remodeled our bathroom and they are top notch in work ethic, quality, courtesy and professionalism. I highly recommend Preferred Roof Systems for any of your home improvement needs.

Great communication, great crew (Chris & Chris were awesome!), very good work, always cleaned up at end of day, very polite & asked me how I wanted this & that, gave me suggestions. Very pleased with the workmanship!

The project manager quoted a price that was not in our budget gave another price we thought great. He never looked at our crawl space. Was put off over a month with excuses. After a month of us calling him, he finally sent out 2 men who knew nothing about the remodel. They looked at crawl space and talked to my husband. They decided to come back the next day because it was 230 and they get off at 3. When I got home from work my husband was talking to me and I got a text saying they would refund my money. Called office they never did call back. I called home advisor and they arranged for me to get my money back. Very poor communication. And they need to look at the total project before quoting a price. The project manager told me he did get fired. Not sure how true that was. So hired and fired them.

The project took way longer than contract stated, I had tools stolen and or broken by their workers and nothing got replaced nor was I compensated for the missing broke or used items. Had major issues with guys not showing up. After about a month of headache, and awful workers and thieves they finally sent a guy that was honest and did great work and I am happy with the end result, However I cannot in good conscience recommend or condone thieves or an owner that does not make things right after their employees commit petty theft.

Great customer service!

From the original estimate to the completion of the bathroom remodel project, everyone involved was great. Doug Flagle immediately handled any issue that arrived. The work crew was professional, courteous and respectful. Anything that I asked them to do they did with no problems. I recommend preferred roof systems for any similar projects.

I have an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend!

How this company could get 5 stars is ridiculous. We've gotten nothing but lies, excuses, and fantasy. They did a good job on the roof when they finally got around to do it, but the other projects they quoted us and charged us a 70% down payment have not been done correctly or at all. Doug talks big, but does not deliver. Shame on you Home Advisors for recommending this company.

Our 2-week project took 2 1/2 months to finish and our down payment money was tied up for that time (70%). No show/sick workers were a big part of problem. Finished job looked very nice and the price was very competitive.

They are very kind, ON time and do there job well and listen to how you want thing's done DID a very nice job very very well satisfied.

The work was fantastic and the price was amazing- very good customer service!! I will definitely be recommending them to my friends
