Wood Fence - Install
$1,250
In case you do not want to read the entire review, just look at Premier Renovations on BBB - their rating is appropriate. David was hired for construction of a 4â cedar lattice fence and double gate in August, as well as a 6â privacy gate on the side of the house. I had purchased the cedar and we discussed the method of which the fence and gate were to be constructed. Going against the agreed to construction plans, he decided to take a shortcut that included routing out ¾â from the entire length of all 2x4s in order to seat the lattice for the fence and gate. This resulted in taking away half of the depth of the 1 ½â in the 2x4s, making the structure quite unstable. The joints are an abomination in both the lattice gate and in the lattice fence panels. There was no wood glue used in the joints, and the deck screws he used at the primitive joinery must have been applied on the highest drill setting because the screw heads were sunk about 1â into the 2x4s. Of course the poor joinery resulted in sagging within a week, and the wood splintered where the screws were seated too far in. Even the day it was constructed, where the double gates met in the middle, one side was taller than the other and the latch he installed only barely was able to be opened when the higher side of the gate was pushed down. The job was started in August, and his last day on the site was September 18. My fatal flaw was that I paid him in full before I actually looked at the work closely. I did get him to come out once more to discuss my grievances and concern that the cedar would have to be replaced and ultimately the fence and gate redone. He told me in October he would come by to fill in the ¾â rut with liquid nails and put L brackets to support the gate, and that if it still was sagging and subpar, then we could talk about redoing the project. As can be expected unfortunately, he has not come back to even try his shoddy plan with the liquid nails and L brackets. On a side note, the worker he had hired to do most of the job was also walking on the lattice while it was lying on the grass and there are some cracks in the lattice as a result, but I donâ t have documentation of him actually walking on it so youâ ll just have to take my word on it. When I initially in contact with David after the recommendation from HomeAdvisor, I had told him that I was also talking to school teacher who builds fences on his days off and was waiting to hear back from him with a quote. David told me to â make sure you don't compare apples to orangesâ since he (David) is a professional and the teacher is a novice. I bet the novice would have used wood glue and paid more attention to detail.

Storm Door - Install
Yes, I recommend this pro
Loved working with David. After a few scheduling issues on both our parts and Mother Nature's, he installed my storm door with few issues. Door looks and works great. Only reason didn't rate straight fives was cleanup. Found several screws on the ground and metal pieces from cuts on the lawn. Other than that, AWESOME to work work with and already scheduling another project with him (he may get my whole honey do list), just waiting in the estimate. Thanks you, David!
