Short Version: Did a partial demo, trashed our yard/roof/gutters and no show with a 50% deposit since Jan 2020. (see pictures) Long Version : We had hired Professional chimney services of Michigan in Jan to clean our chimney based on good reviews on HomeAdvisor. Post cleaning we were told that the chimney was in bad shape and needed a rebuild from roof onwards. We were instantly given a quote of $1990 by James (owner) to which we agreed and James came over the same week to collect a 50% check deposit. The start of the build got delayed due to bad weather and COVID which was completely understandable. Last week my wife got a phone call from the owner of the business apologizing for the delay and that they would like to start the build this Fri (demo) and Sat(build) to which we agreed (they confirmed they were authorized to work). Fri James and 1 crew show up late at the end of the day and immediately start taking down the chimney. As they are taking it down James starts making statements like this is a $6000 build and he is not sure why it is underquoted. We pointed out that he was the one who quoted this build and came to our house twice (sweep& collect check) he quickly agreed to that and said he will take care of us. After demolishing 1/3 of the chimney they let me know that they will return on Saturday with a larger crew to demo the rest and clean the debris. Sat no one shows up. After several tries to reach by phone he picks up and tells my wife that his co-workers dad passed away so he does not have the crew but he will show up between 1-2:00. After a no show at 3:00 we called him and this time James says that we were underquoted, my wife pointed out that he was the one who quoted it and he should not have started the demo if he had no intention of doing the job that is when he starts yelling â you should be thanking god we were out there doing your job. We tore down the chimney so no one else has to. There is a pandemic out there we should not be at your home â Â and hung up.(Note: James was the one who called us to set up the appointment. My wife had asked if they were allowed to work and James confirmed that they have all the paperwork & could work). Since then he is not picking up our calls. We have a chimney that is partially demolished and frankly unsafe. They left it open to the elements did not even bother to cover it with a tarp. Our yard is trashed with debris and we are out on $990. If you must hire them : 1. Do not hire for any big jobs like a chimney rebuild they simply do not have the skills, tools, or resources. 2. Be prepared for delayed arrivals (3-4 hrs/days) and no phone calls to let you know. 3. You will not be able to reach them on the phone. Will not pick up and will go to voicemail which is always full (also mentioned by other reviewers). 4. Be prepared to listen to wishy-washy excuses like his mobile phone being lost / online system locking him out ....etc. 5. Most importantly do not provide a 50% deposit in advance that they will ask, then you are at their mercy. In this time of need the last thing I wanted to do is write a negative review about small businesses. But leaving a customer like that is just unacceptable. Hopefully other people learn from my experience and deal with this company cautiously.

Terrible. Just a joke. Here is our story: Bought older house and inspection noted some repairs were rehired to burn, and we needed to clean. We googled this company, and made a mistake of not checking previous reviews on OTHER sites. We scheduled the first appointment, to which they did not show up or come to. We rescheduled the next available time when they were 2 hours late. When they came, they did not have all the equipment to fix. We scheduled again, and they did not show for two additional dates. A few weeks later after the last appointment, the replacement chimney cap blew off and came through our window! I called this company demanding they fix and pay me for repairs to my window. The operators sarcastic voice stated James would call me directly. We called over 50 times, to get a voicemail, and we could not even leave a message because the voicemail was full. We re out additional money because this company is not prepared, very unprofessional. I still have not gotten a hold of them and this was 2 weeks ago. I will never recommend to anyone. NEVER. James or anyone from this ghost company, I would love for you to come back to my house and explain yourselves. You will be negatively reviewed everywhere I get the chance. Thanks for wasting my money, time, and energy. Hope you lose more business! Cheers!

"we are very sorry your cap flew through your window, but you told us not to contact you unless we are replacing your window and became extremely verbally abusive towards every one of my staff members and we had to stop taking your calls after you made everyone of my staff very uncomfortable with your treating communication..and due to your cap flying of during the bad windstorm we had last month we are not liable for your window. if your roof had been destroyed during this event you would be calling your insurance company and the same goes for when a chimney cap fly's off of your chimney during a storm. that's why you pay homeowner insurance. its common sense and I am sorry you can not comprehend that without becoming verbally abusive with two different secretaries on multiple occasions. Your profound langue has made it impossible for us to communicate with you like civil adults. we will still gladly come give you a new cap which should still be covered by your insurance company anyways but we will still cover for that like it says in our contract with you. God bless"

Rob and Wes were professional from start to finish. If they saw something extra that needed to be fixed that was part of their planned work they went ahead and did it so the whole structure looked great. They repaired my front porch, 2 chimneys and 2 flower boxes as well as tuck-pointing many exterior areas. They were great, calm and courteous. I just left them alone as they worked and they surprised me with great results and when they finished everything was cleaned up to my satisfaction. I wish I had more for them to do!

Total rip off ! $400 for installing a $19.00 part. It took 15 Min. to install! Sent a letter to the owner. NO response. RIP OFF!

"We are very sorry about your experience but your part cost was 180.00 for your thermal pile assembly, you are confused with a thermal coupler which would cost 20 bucks at your local hardware store but yours came from the gas supplier in Royal Oak because of the type of unit you have! Your part did not cost 19.00 it was 180.00 for the entire assembly."

Very good customer service. They keep you update when they will arrive at your house. The only reason I didn't give an overall "5" was they seemed to finish the job very quick. I question how thorough they could have been completing the job as fast as they did.

I already submitted a review and it kicked me out!!! Needed a city insp of chimney. Hired these guys- they said we needed replace stove pipe (it was the wrong one from the previous owner) - $700. They sent a sub without ANY parts needed to do the job. I sent him to HDWE store for the parts. He replaced them. Needed additional paperwork for the city (city was difficult too). It was like pulling teeth to get them (PRO) to do it. Wife hired a new inspector and he said sub installed wrong pipe cap- it was just like the one we needed to replace! I climbed roof and replaced it with correct one myself. Spent a month, and $800 just for a simple inspection!
