"Thank you, Jerry! It is customers like you that allow me to be self-employed. I treat every roof as if it were my home. I bid and do all work. No employees! My customers deserve the best worker on their roof. With 25 years of experience, and literally thousands of roofs cleaned, I have learned many nuances about proper roof cleaning. Rule number one is never to use bleach on your roof! Bleach will kill everything, including the shingles! within 5 years, they curl and replacement will be necessary. Your choice with home advisor, in the Green bay, is pro roof cleaning and Pioneer soft wash. Pioneer advertises biodegradable and eco-friendly solutions used. That is so misleading. Toxic bleach is added so that it is 50% solution, and 50% bleach! It is a dangerous way to clean a roof. Customers like Jerry are so appreciated!! He was happy with my work. I walk around the house after completion, to be sure customers are pleased with my work. When they are happy with the new looking roof, I am happy !! It is the customers that allow me to run a successful small business. I treat each one with appreciation. I never forget that they are my boss during cleaning. I do not leave until the customer is pleased with all the work I did. I l refuse to use chemicals like bleach on the roofs clean."
"Thank you, I treat every roof as if we are my own. Other companies use bleach to clean roofs. I only apply eco-friendly and biodegradable solutions. A solution that is 70% bleach is too dangerous and it is irresponsible. It is easier, but in the 25 years of roof cleaning in the Green Bay area, I have seen many businesses come and go. The companies that bleach roofs to get them clean do not last. They usually are sued, and close down. The businesses are not liable, the home is. What bothers me about these businesses that clean everything with toxic chloride bleach is that they do not tell customers bleach is the cleaning agent. No one would hire them if they were aware that their home would be soaked with bleach. Bleach also dries out asphalt shingles, causing them to curl over time. Bleach destroys cedar shakes. Bleach dries them out, and replacement might be necessary in several years. Believe me, bleaching the customers roof surfaces is much easier, and if it was not so dangerous for plants, landscaping, lawns. I would be cleaning roofs with bleach. I cannot clean a roof for a customer whom trusted me with their home, using dangerous chemicals like bleach. Also, not telling them bleach is the cleaning agent is so irresponsible. They also add a deodorizer so you cannot detect the bleach by smelling it. Using bleach in these quantities is also illegal. I know a little about roof cleaning. I started my business 25 years ago in 1996. My advice is to stay away from companies that use bleach. Ask a lot of questions beforehand when hiring a roof cleaner. The better companies are the ones that take the time to show homeowners the solutions that will be used. The bleach using businesses do everything possible to hide their cleaning solution. If you see a roof cleaner watering down your lawn and landscaping , they are using bleach. Ask if bleach will be used. Sorry this got long Kristal, I feel a certain responsibility to make customers like you aware of these new, bleaching roof cleaners. They are so irresponsible to put customers in danger of fines, damaging plants and landscaping, drying out customers asphalt shingles. I am always busy, I do not need to talk badly about competitors methods of cleaning roofs in order to get more customers. I do all work for Pro. I had 7 employees back in 2005. What I learned was that these workers did not have their hearts in getting a roof cleaned perfectly. They had just go through the motions, and a lot of times I needed to back and touch up the work they did. They were all good guys, but I am a perfectionist, and need every roof to be spotless. I let them all go, and decided to just keep my business small. I bid every job, I clean every roof I bid. I care more about how these roofs look after the cleaning than these kids working for me. That is because I own the company, and want my company to have a great reputation. You get that by working hard on every roof. Every shingle must be algae and fungi free. I also block every roof, so stains cannot come back in a few years. I guarantee every roof for seven years. If any stains reappear on your roof in that 7 years, I will stop by and touch it up for you. That rarely happens. Twice in 25 years is not bad. Thank you for reading this. I would like to see everyone whom needs a roof cleaner to just ask questions. Thanks again, Tom A"
