This company is a total ripoff! Took my down payment then decided they couldnt do the job Havent seen them or my money since! Total scam

So, I had the rep for this company come out to my home in July of 2021. My project was to start production within two weeks of the release of the loan funds. Needless to say, they received the funds, but the project was not started. I keep calling to get updates on the progress. First, when I was able to reach someone, they keep saying that the project was for the attic, and it is for a remodel for a mudroom. Then they came back out to get more measurements. Next, when I reached out to get an update, they said they were waiting for permits (I do not know why the room is not an add-on). Then I was told that they could get the loan pushed back (Lie!). I have since called the company at least 3 times a week since September 2021 and sent them a letter to cancel the project (the loan company said I have to do it through APFR). No one contacted me about canceling. When I finally reached someone, Mrs. Pieper, I was told to cancel. I was going to have to pay them 10% of the loan amount. After that conversation, I have not been able to get in touch with anyone at the company. Since I am still getting calls and letters from the loan company, I continue to call American Professional Family Remodeling Company, and no one is answering (they have caller ID) or returning my calls. I am trying to get them to call the loan company to cancel this. I want this nightmare to end. I also went to the address on the website (Virginia Beach, Blvd), and it is empty (just unopen letters in the window). The mail is going somewhere because they received my cancellation letter. Do not use this company!!! I repeat, do not use this company. They also go by another name.

Absolute garbage of a company. They change their company names very often to run away from the horrible reputation they develop. This ?company? once known as American Family Professional Remodeling has not responded to my texts, emails, and calls for months! Their office on Virginia Beach Blvd is now vacant too! They have my money and zero work has been accomplished. In accordance with the contract, work must start within 14 weeks and nothing has been accomplished at all! Well, those 14 weeks have passed now .Sonny, the field salesman uses his veteran status to gain your trust and is extremely pushy. Quite frankly, he has no idea what he is even talking about when he shows up to your residence. Just know one thing, he is their to take your money and run. The BBB is notified and more is to come! They change their name to run away from their wrong doings and will continue doing so until justice is done. Do not use this company at all. In conclusion, I would rather get dragged on asphalt by a moving car than use this company. Also, all the good reviews are fake.

They did make right what was wrong, the people were polite, and the installers were great. However, the process was too long, I had to initiate contact along the way, it was hard to get timely answers to questions, and they didn't plan or schedule well at all. I would NOT recommend this company.

as far as we know according to this company we have not heard from them to check on the progress on ordering our full shower encloser and this is getting frustrated at our end ;so please help us find some answer thanks

A salesman came to our home Wednesday, 6-16-2021 to give us an estimate for a roof repair. He let us know they would not come do repair unless there is other work to be completed. We added bathroom floor, installation of sink and toilet, and 2 sliding glass doors. We made sure to let him know we had a quote out for the doors, he said do not worry you can cancel in the next 3 business days. His boss, Sonny was on the phone and stated we needed to pay 1/2 of total costs which were $13,000 in order to save money and have "good pricing." We also told Sonny we were waiting on 1 more quote for sliding glass doors. We paid 1/2, $6,500 in good faith. 2 days later we received the estimate for the doors we were waiting on. They are custom and also $4,000 less expensive. We called on Monday 6-21-2021 to cancel. We were counting business days: Thursday, Friday, then Monday. We were told that Saturday was a business day and we did not cancel in time. It is important to know, no-one has ever come to our home to measure or anything. All that has happened is the sales guy gave the estimate/contract. This company has not lost a penny due to us canceling. Also, had we known Saturday was a business day we would have called then, we waited until Monday not knowing. Sonny is not a nice person and has patronized me in multiple ways. They have had our $6,500 for almost a month. This is making more issues with repairs not being completed due to them having our money. The roof is now leaking worse all in my sons room. All we want is our money back and just go our separate ways. These people are not nice and have stolen our money. Please help. Update 08/10/2021 : I have been in contact with this company and they stated they will return the full amount of $6500 tomorrow 08/10/2021 before noon. We are trying to work this out, I will keep this review updated

They agreed to return my deposit of $2000.00 on August 11, 2021.

Took 10 months to complete a bathroom renovation. I was hired them on August 20th when they were called Proper Contracting. Once the contract was signed company did not seem very interested in getting the job done. A few materials were ordered in October, then sat in my dining for months. In February I started being told as soon as one more thing showed up we can start. That item would arrive, and then it would be something else. The subcontractor starts in April, only to find that some stuff that I had been warehousing for free for 6 months is broken or wrong. If Proper had done some Project Management or Quality Control the Reno would have been completed in 2-3 weeks. Instead, it took 3 months because so many things had to be reordered. Proper Contracting served absolutely no purpose - just wanted to get my checks. No value-added, and really Michele D. They replaced your roof in only one day 3 times?

I signed my contract on May 21, 2021, and paid 1/2 deposit that was requested. A lady and a man came out on June 2, 2021 to look at my floor. Someone was supposed to come out to see what flooring I wanted. I called her on June 8th because no one came out. I called the main office on June 9th. someone was supposed to get back to me. this is June 10th. I have not heard from anyone yet.

Paid half of my money, going on 30 days. Going from sales to a person who finds your roofing to a contractor with availability. Still waiting for no date set yet. The price... that is another story!

Our parents are moving in with us and my dad needed a wheelchair ramp. They did such a great job! They were responsive to our ideas and answered our questions every step of the way. I recommend this company to everyone!

Me and my wife just got an dog and needed a fence for home not to run away. We hired proper contracting and what I like about them was they told us when it would be done and the fact it was fast.

I was very happy how fast it happened. Would recommend.
